Here is thread 4 this year. With an appearance from Mr Bon Jovi himself!

I love the moose, Crazy!

My next project is the one of the kids. I'm not sure I have time to get it done before Christmas now, so need to bloody get on with it. I will finish the border on the sampler I'm doing and then it'll just be the details square which needs doing once baby is here. If I sit down straight after dinner I might get that done today. Then I'll start on the one of the kids tomorrow.

I'm planning on doing this card before I get home from holiday then I have another 2 to do (similarly simple so shouldn't be too time consuming) then I have a horse one for MIL as a Christmas present but I also want to learn to use the sewing machine (I want to make cushion covers, a peg bag, door stop and some drawstring Christmas bags) plus my mum has requested a crochet Christmas bag and I always make something Christmassy for my sister.
I think I'm being overly ambitious and there's no way I'll have time to do it all 🙄

FireflyGirl · 15/08/2021 18:50

Nice moose, Crazy Wink

Alas, there is still a lot more to do in the man cave. And once DH has sorted his crap stuff, I'll be able to get in the wardrobe and sort my crap crafting essentials.

70 he tried it with an ancient (admittedly pretty) drop leaf table that he's had longer than we've been together (12 years!). I told him he can either sort the garage and put it in there, or it needs to go. I'm being ruthless. He's put loads of his wires up in the loft, though!

It wouldn't be so bad if we had the extension - building was supposed to start at the beginning of June, but we've had to put it on hold because of supply issues Hmm might end up being next summer before we can get it started!!

We've had a lovely day out. We went to a local stately home where they did a pantomime outside. Thankfully the weather held. DS loved it, and even DD sat really nicely throughout the full thing, mostly eating her picnic. DH had been expecting to use her as an excuse to go for a walk Grin

QVC are having a Christmas themed day tomorrow but I had a looksie at what they had and loads of it was featured on their Christmas in July day .

Though I do like some of the Culinary Conceots items , I'd buy an octopus wine cooler but I don;t drink ( let alone don't drink wine ) and my lovely female cat would throw it on the floor out of devilment .

Morning!

I was woken by DH 'running' in his sleep which was semi-amusing. 🤣

We've had no car update yet, which has really annoyed me. Bearing in mind he knows the urgency, a pre-weekend status update should've been given. DH is being all passive and annoying as well. 😡😡

I completed the border on my sampler last night, so can start the next project later. Though sorting the threads is probably the first job!

Hi I am off today and just dyed my hair. I went for the 'wrong' colour I did last month and I am very pleased with it.

I am thinking of making steamed pudding and custard today as I fancied it yesterday when I was at work and it is grey and autumnal looking outside.

TheWoollybacksWife · 16/08/2021 13:53

Good shout why. I suspect DH feels the same way - earlier this morning he showed me an old advert for sponge pudding that was on his WW2 history feed. Maybe there's something in the air here...

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 16/08/2021 13:59

I like the idea that everyone in our town is making steamed pudding today Woolly.

TheWoollybacksWife · 16/08/2021 15:07

I can't even blame the feeling on the chocolatey/malty smell that wafts over from time to time.

FireflyGirl · 16/08/2021 22:12

Evening. It's gone rather quiet today!

Are you all basking in the autumnal weather and starting your Christmas crafts? Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 16/08/2021 23:03

No basking here. It's been intermittently rainy and quite breezy!

Yes to starting the Christmas crafts though, in that I've started the cross stitch of the kids. After spending about 2 bloody hours sorting the threads out! I've had to order some which I should have but can't find. But only 3, so could be worse!

It's car insurance renewal time. Soul destroying.

Firefly I'm slowly but surely working my way through my craft to do list. The only problem is I keep adding stuff. I finished a hat today for my great-nephew and instead of either chucking the two small balls of yarn in the bin 🙈 or adding them to my bits and bobs bag I decided that they were the perfect colour to do a couple of knitted hearts to go with the spare bedroom decor. So I knitted them instead of starting the next thing on my list. I am my own worst enemy.

In less taxing news I am meeting two friends for a Beefeater breakfast tomorrow morning and probably snoozing all afternoon

I have also bought DS another band T-shirt as part of his Christmas presents. It is black, surprise, surprise.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 17/08/2021 06:05

Morning all 😴

I have done what I can on my Merejka. They are sending more threads as I have run out. Spending this week finishing off a bag for MIL as DH and DS are going up there this weekend which means I get a weekend of peace and quiet!

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 17/08/2021 06:08

Pic of the Merejka!

pussycatlickinglollyices · 17/08/2021 06:30

Morning.
House Insurance, Greenflag and TV license due for renewal in the next 2 weeks here, so I feel your pain [Fluffy]
most I love the Merejka picture - you do know there's another London one (Red phonebox with Big Ben in the background) sorry I'm still thinking about buying the Autumn Aura one of New York.
Woolly Enjoy the breakfast and nap 🥓
Dull and damp here. I think it's darker now than when I got up an hour ago. We were going to nip to Sains for 7, but I think it might be nearer 8 now as I can hear snoring coming from upstairs. 😴

WreckTangled · 17/08/2021 06:32

Morning. Nearly stepped on a dead bird this morning. WreckCat had left it on the floor in the sitting room and I walked straight over it not noticing until I walked back through as it was dark. Woke dh up before I left to warn him Grin I was in a rush Wink

I've woken up with a sore throat every day for what feels like two weeks now. My nose is runny this morning too. Might do another LFT.

pussycatlickinglollyices · 17/08/2021 06:39

He's just showing you he loves you 😻 and hates birds DHs mates cat dragged a dead pheasant through his catflap as a "gift" once. It was bigger than the cat.

WreckTangled · 17/08/2021 06:42

Oh my goodness 😂 that's so funny. I can't imagine pheasants are too hard to catch though, they're so stupid.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 17/08/2021 06:44

Is that the one with the couple missing in the phone box puss? I would love it if it weren't for that bit.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 17/08/2021 06:44

Kissing, I actually want them to be missing!

pussycatlickinglollyices · 17/08/2021 06:49

most Yes. and Yes, it would be better without...maybe you could just stitch it as glass with a coloured reflection?

NoWordForFluffy · 17/08/2021 06:54

I can't believe anything that big and fluffy can catch anything, Wreck! He's not exactly built for stealth manoeuvres. 😂

Got the car insurance sorted. We're going with the RAC as our renewal quote from Sainsbury's was ridiculous. We should hopefully get the car back soon too as the last part was coming in yesterday. Apparently it was already dismantled, so it just needed putting back together and the MOT re-doing. 🤞

Your Merejka is lovely, Most. I need to finish the back stitch on mine. The amount of back stitch actually puts me off another Merejka, even though they're lovely. I might take it on the train to Glasgow in a few weeks as it'll be easier doing that than the one of the kids which will take a lot of concentration / counting. Less chance of going wrong with back stitch!

Puss, I pay the TV licence monthly and DH has car breakdown cover with his bank. It's home insurance in December. Soon enough!

Also, broadband in December too. The excitement!

Fluffy, you have said the magic phase re back stitch. I hate hate hate it. I have at least a dozen pics not quite finished because I hate it so much. And thanks, I won't bother with a Merejka now!

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 17/08/2021 07:04

Lovely fluffy!

I don't mind back stitch and it can make such a difference to a piece. I will definitely do another Merejka as they are just so lovely.

NoWordForFluffy · 17/08/2021 07:04

If you want nice, full coverage, ones, the John Clayton series I do doesn't have back stitch (the shop did for the windows, but was minimal / bearable).

You must've been unlucky with thread, Most. I'm going to have loads left!
