Been trying to catch up with the thread with dodgy signal 🙄

I loved my Merejka kit and have another Christmas one waiting which I won't be starting until next year!
Would love to give a John Clayton one a go so am keeping my eye out for them at a good price.

I'm another one that hates back stitch though.

I got a message off my dad - my mini repairs are complete and MOT has been passed. That bloody car has basically been rebuilt by me but I love it 🙄

Last day of holiday today so I'm making the most of it by cross stitching in peace

Crazy I love that you've kept your mini, I'm sure you won't regret it. It might not be financially the best thing to have done, but you know every squeak and rattle. 💕

The car (he's called Ken!) is fixed. Apparently he looks happy. Sodding should do after having £1,200 spent on him! 😱

Thank god he's a Volvo and will go on forever (he's only done about 100k miles, so a mere pup)!

Wreck I'm sure I've mentioned before, but R-cat once brought home a squirrel when he wasn't much bigger than a kitten. They used to come in and out of the top (downstairs) bathroom window, so it was quite an achievement! I told DH it was his responsibility to get rid of it.

The next morning, there was half a dead squirrel at the bottom of the stairs < not envy

I know! Cheaper than getting a new one (his value appears to have gone up since we bought him, according to car insurance sites), however.

Thankfully I have a 0% transfer offer, so DH has paid in the first instance and I'll then transfer the balance to mine.

I do like a Volvo though. I was a claim handler for a few years and remember telling many a customer who crashed a mini and were amazed no one was hurt that Volvos are like tanks - sturdy, reliable, safe and will last longer than you if you look after them 😂

puss the mini is 20years old this year so is officially an old banger (and should absolutely be scrapped by MN standards) but fixing was still cheaper than buying another and I luffs driving him 😂 and he fits in the most ridiculously small parking spaces

I'm interrupting my stitches to go and sit on the pebble beach while DH paddle boards. Not sure why exactly but I'll take the dog and my book for half hour. I think it's the compromise because he wants me to try kayaking and I really really don't want to

Afternoon.

Got dc their uniforms and schools shoes this morning. £86 for 2 pairs of shoes . Thankfully dd can wear ds uniform from last year. That's the good thing about having Irish twins.

MOT is different here. We don't go to a garage. We have to go to an MOT centre and appointments are like gold dust.

DS wore DD's old primary uniform for 3 years. He wore her reception tops for 2 years then her next size up for his last year. One set of jumpers lasted all 3 years! He will go into her current school shirts next year, I think, and she'll get more. We bought big for her last year and he's too small for those ones right now!

I need to get shoes. Good reminder!

Our local searches came back today and the contract paperwork finally arrived with our solicitors. Still awaiting water and drainage searches and our revised mortgage offer.

Have you found a school for your DS, Most? Are timings going to be awkward or might you scrape in for the new term?

I think we are going to miss the new term fluffy which is annoying but hopefully DS will be ok. I know which school I want him to go to but can't apply until we exchange.

Yep been together a couple of months now. Feeling really happy as we are both serious about each other

This year me and the kids are going home to my parents and I can't wait! Life is looking pretty damn good about now
