Crazy I'm jealous it's warm where you are. It was sunny this morning but cloudy now.

The uniform wasn't too ££ or pretentious Fluffy

Black skirt or trousers and a white shirt with a collar plus house tie and school sweatshirt (different colours for yrs7-9 and yrs10/11). The killer was all the logoed PE gubbins - it didn't help that I bought her both the girl's skort and the boy's rugby shorts 😂

My uniform in the late 1970's could only be bought from the one supplier and was unique in it's hideousness 🤮

Woolly Did you have a black pleated incredibly short with a sliding fastener PE skirt with a mahoosive pair of black granny knickers over your own undies?😂

I did, Puss. Royal blue gym knicks, though, and navy skirt.

You could catch fire there was so much polyester in one of my school skirts Woolly.

Oh those gym knicks were awful Fluffy, especially if you forgot your skirt and was wearing one of the 80's style breeze block sanitary towels.

My school skirt was made out of this fabric. Two shades of petrol blue, A-line with the stripes on the diagonal from a central seam. (Total fire hazard) Pink checked blouse. Petrol blue cardigan. Beige socks and brown lace up shoes. Thank god it was an all girls school so we didn't drive the boys mad with lust in our enticing outfits. We also had to wear gingham summer dresses from Easter until July with ankle socks and Jesus sandals.

PE was pale blue aertex top with a gym skirt with a two tone blue leotard for gym and dance. Combine that lot with legs that your mum wouldn't let you shave.

I'd blocked out memories of the black umbro leotard, the "special" blue patterned fabric the summer dresses were made of and the nearly full length zip that could literally leave everything on show and that was just middle school!
Add in the Dr Whites...🤦🏻‍♀️

Maybe the mix of colours and materials was designed that way to deter male attention, Woolly?!

Last day of dry weather this week, apparently. Unsettled / stormy for the next few days according to the forecast.

We're going to the cinema this morning. Will go via Tesco for snacks. Need to get some washing on the line before we go too, it's out last dry day too until Monday I think.

It is definitely going to rain...DH has washed the cars 🤦🏻‍♀️

I got shirts in Tesco! They're a size too big but we're £10 for four so much better.

Too big is fine. Growing room!

I am so glad to be out of school uniform buying !

DS didn't really care but as a tall skinny bod he was a challenge to buy for . M&S Slim-Fit Extra Long
He was ok in M&S shirts .
DD didnt like the collar , she wanted Tesco . Long and Short sleeves

And the battle of the skirts I'm not wearing that / the school will send you home .DD and her mates wore cycling shorts under their skirts but a load of the girls had blazers longer than their skirts !

They had to wear the blazer all the time unless given permission. Then when my DD inherited DS blue tops and I bought her 3 more ........they weren't allowed them , had to wear shirts/ties .

Our secondary school is really, really strict on uniform. Ridiculous really. The shirts actually fit her so that's good.

Part of my school selection criteria will be based on stupid uniform requirements!

We don't have a choice here, which did make it easier. Also lucky that despite the whole uniform thing it's a really good school (outstanding ofsted if that even means anything these days ).

I have no idea what to get the dc for Christmas this year. I think dd sill change a lot in the next couple of months so will wait a bit.

When I went to Secondary there weren't choices ( though one private school)
Luckily ours was black blazer/black+silver tie /black or grey skirt /white shirt

Other local schools had maroon blazers or purple .

Blazers weren't a thing round our way other than the boys' school which was only one step up from borstal!.

Morning!

Busy morning so far...all on other people's files, obviously!

Sunny and breezy for now. Rain forecast this afternoon. We're doing some washing which should get a few hours on the line before it rains. Hopefully enough to dry it! 🤣

Still waiting for the bloody plumber. DH is going to chase them up at 10, then try to find another...🤷🏻‍♀️ I've threatened to enrol him on an evening plumbing course at the local college, so that might stir him into action.😂

The view from my (holiday home) bedroom window this morning at 5:30 when I got up for a wee. Even DH said it looked autumnal and he's very slow to acknowledge seasons changing.

That is definitely autumnal! Bit Hounds of the Baskerville too!
