Ooh Wreck you might need an Ultradound or MTI ( to show soft tissue damage ) XRAY is quite limited there .
Hopefully the correct support and non weighbearing will protect it to allow healing but it does take time .

I've kicked off my Christmas planning by buying Nigel Slater's Christmas Chronicles ( I do love watching him , he's so earnest and a tad pretentious )

TheWoollybacksWife · 15/07/2021 21:38

Have you bought the book 70? I got the kindle version a couple of years ago when it was the deal of the day. It's a lovely read and I can see the photos but I imagine that the book is even better with the photos in colour.

Try to rest as much as possible Wreck - probably not much chance with the school holidays coming up.

My car is going for an MOT next week at the dealership where I bought it. While we are there DH is booked into the local Apple store for a bit of a geek out and I'm off to John Lewis for a mooch round. No doubt I'll be buying more sock wool - that seems to be my thing at the moment 😃

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 15/07/2021 22:19

Yes , I do prefer a physical book

When it arrives I'll skim through it then leave it artfully on the coffee table . Hopefully my female cat won't take offence and throw it on the floor (she has form for this ) Xmas Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 15/07/2021 22:28

I bought the Nigel Slater book last year enabled by Woolly! It's lovely! Xmas Smile

I needed a U/S scan to diagnose my shoulder tear.

Wreck hope your ankle settles soon! Soft tissue injuries are often worse than a fracture.

70 I much prefer the physical book for things like recipe books, and especially anything Christmas related. It's why I enjoy the supermarket Christmas food magazines so much!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 16/07/2021 06:56

Oops meant MRI (no idea what MTI would be probably medi-speak for something unsavoury involving needly things Xmas Blush )

I always buy the Good Housekeeping Christmas edition. Last year I could only get the smaller hangbag size instead of the big glossy mag..... I felt cheated Xmas Shock

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 16/07/2021 07:03

The Nigel Slater Chronicles Countdown can replace the M&S Beauty Advent Calendar Countdown Xmas Grin
I have never bought the M&S one but I liked reading it on Style&Beauty . Last year M&S didn't do one

WreckTangled · 16/07/2021 07:05

I'm extra complex with my neuromuscular condition Grin I've got an appointment with orthotics next week (booked before my injury) so that should help too. Also have some crutches, will probably just use one to take he weight off and have some exercises to do.

Morning!

70, I chose the Good Housekeeping free gift from my bank - as did Why - purely for the Christmas one!

Morning 🥵 back from Asda and Morrisons with mostly beer, pizza and fat balls 😂😂

It was lovely and cool at 4.15 when I got up, I opened the conservatory doors and sprawled on the sofa for an hour doing some cross stitch.

Watched the last ep of "Lie with me" on Ch5 last night. Not giving the end away, but it was very good if you haven't seen it. We want to watch the new Ben Miller thing on BBC1 at 9, thank god for iplayer, I'll never make it to 10. 😴

DH is pressure washing the patio in a bit, so I'm being roped in to help him move all the pots and the bench in a mo. Joy. Last time I ended up with bruised pride, cracked ribs and trip to A&E...

NoWordForFluffy · 16/07/2021 18:57

Beer and pizza, Puss? I'll be over shortly! 🍻 🍕 I'm not likely to eat the fat balls!

4.15 is an early start. If you do that again this weekend, my allotment could use a water. The pressure is better first thing. 😁

I do hope you've avoided hospital / injury in general today!

I fear for pussycats safety if MrPussyCat has traded in the HoseofDeath and got himself a PowerPressureWashHoseofDeath..............

Hopefully PussyCat is pelting him with fatballs as we speak ...

pussycatlickinglollyices · 16/07/2021 19:37

70 Consider him duly pelted. Grin I'm fine and managed to avoid injury, thankfully. DH has gone out again to paint the bench while it's in the shade.
Apparently that Ben Miller thing is on Sunday evening, so if I nod off in a bit it won't matter.
I'm going to water tomorrow when I get up I think - the sun hits my pillow at about 4🤦🏻‍♀️ DH can empty the rest of a reservoir later in the day.
Fluffy Grin I hope you like pineapple. I timed Asda just right and managed to get the pizzas made for me at 7. It's been the highlight of my week and I was dizzy with excitement I was even happy to be pushing the worlds wonkiest trolley across an uphill carpark 😂

TheWoollybacksWife · 16/07/2021 21:37

Ooh puss I want to watch that Ben Miller programme too. It looks like a cross between Inspector Morse and his character from Death In Paradise.

NoWordForFluffy · 16/07/2021 21:55

We might watch that programme on iPlayer too. We're watching Gogglebox then the top 30 hits of 1998 on 5! Class evening. 😁

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 16/07/2021 23:34

That is exactly what I watched when I got back from work Fluffy.

NerosFiddle · 17/07/2021 08:09

Morning.

It's hot as hell already

NoWordForFluffy · 17/07/2021 08:09

Morning!

I actually had over 7 hours' sleep last night. Unusual for me!

No plans for today really, other than housework. Exciting times! 🤣

WreckTangled · 17/07/2021 09:47

We're going out out tonight. So excited. No dancing for me though Sad we've had coffees outside this morning and are going to my parents for lunch so that'll be nice.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 17/07/2021 10:56

Morning all. Too hot to go anywhere today so DS has a friend coming round to enjoy the paddling pool. I feel very listless in this weather. Want to do things but know it is too hot.

TheWoollybacksWife · 17/07/2021 11:19

Morning all. Changed the beds and I've been to the butcher and that's pretty much all I'm doing today.

I usually give the butcher my order for next week but I was drawing a blank today. A combination of a lack of inspiration and DS being a bit fussy and not liking some things DH and I would eat. I've ordered some bits but I'm going to have to have a bit of a 🤔

NoWordForFluffy · 17/07/2021 11:43

I'm still lounging round. Really must kick myself up the arse to get moving.

OP posts:
pussycatlickinglollyices · 17/07/2021 12:04

Just had the pizza for an early lunch.🍕😋
Someone or something was making a funny tappy noise outside last night and woke me up technically, this morning at 3am DH thinks it was a horny hedgehog...I think it was someone stumbling around pissed, but I did suspect someone was trying to nick NDNs caravan, so lay away for ages listening (I really hope I wasn't listening to hog porn 😂😲)
It's too hot for me now🥵 I'm doing bugger all for the rest of the day.
most I might have to buy a paddling pool to sit in.
Woolly would some sort of chicken kebab type thing with veg appeal to him, or is he going thru' the "veggie" stage where he goes off most meat for a while? Maybe just order stuff for you and DH and a few odd bits for DH - he'll survive for a week on toasties if all else fails just don't tell him that 🤫

pussycatlickinglollyices · 17/07/2021 12:05

"few bits for DS" obvs.
🥵🤦🏻‍♀️

NoWordForFluffy · 17/07/2021 13:16

I'm boiled...I just mowed the lawn and I can confirm that it's rather toasty outside!

I've also put grass seed on some bald patches which are helpfully protected by the trampoline, so should grow quite quickly, hopefully.
