You'd think with all the extra hand washing, sanitiser, cleaning the trolley, distancing, masks, wiping stuff when you get home etc you'd be safe from tummy bugs, but apparently not. 😷😳

CrazyBaubles · 13/07/2021 15:41

That's rubbish puss. Is your DH a 'man down' type when he's ill?
More importantly, is your spare bed comfy and do you have a cross stitch (or 3) on the go to keep you busy?

My bird feeder has its first visitors today. Some lovely little birds were there enjoying themselves then a bloody big fat pigeon arrived and frightened them all off. Git. I'll need to put something in to keep the bigger birds out I think...

pussycatlickinglollyices · 13/07/2021 16:37

He's ok when he's ill unless it gets in the way of a solid 8hrs sleep Hmm the spare bed isn't as comfy or as big it's DH original bed and has a brass headboard that clatters on the wall when you fidget. 😂 I have no idea why he chose it, I can't stand the bloody thing.
Good luck with the bird table - we tried sticking some pieces of bamboo diagonally across each side, it worked for a morning until one of them got the hang of it and altered their final approach 🤦🏻‍♀️ they're persistent little buggers.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 13/07/2021 18:14

Ah Puss hopefully you're on the mend , though you might never find out if its a bug or something dodgy you ate .
I'd be holding a Very Bright Torch up to my DH eyes if I suspected him (though I have IBS , I'd be constantly shining a light Xmas Grin and it's not his fault , but I could blame him for stress )

Yesterday there was localised flooding driving home , none in our neck of the woods though but the motor had to wear its waterwings to drive back.

And I have to say , a complete waste of £4 at the carwash Xmas Hmm on Sunday .

pussycatlickinglollyices · 13/07/2021 19:59

I doubt it was something we ate. It was 3 days between me starting with it and DH following suit so far he's not been quite as bad we'd eaten the same things except his excessive biscuit consumption 🤷🏻‍♀️

Morning!

☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️

Puss, I hope your household is on the mend. Thankfully we rarely get stomach issues from bugs in this house. I have IBS and the kids their issues with milk, but we generally avoid bugs, thank god!

OP posts:
CrazyBaubles · 14/07/2021 11:34

I hope you're feeling better puss

We generally avoid sickness and 💩 bugs here. Instead we get lot of coughs / colds 🙄

It is so sunny and hot here. I'm hiding inside as this also means my hay fever is out of control. I've had to wash the mascara off my face because my eyes are so dry and keep watering.

I finished crocheting the extra pair of gloves for my nephew yesterday so will be sewing in the ends later then having a think about next projects. Apart from that I have no news 🤷‍♀️

CrazyBaubles · 14/07/2021 18:06

Woah where is everyone?

I'm sat in my garden with my dad (he came to add a latch to the gate he made us). It's lovely out here but I'm silently fuming because I'm back on again (just an FYI, 7 days on, 3 days off, 16 days on, 1.5 days off, back on this afternoon FFS 🤬).

DH is out until 8 doing his new hobby so I'll be planning what crafting I'm doing for Christmas presents this year to try and make sure I don't run out of time. Have already decided on cross stitch cards for 2 friends and DHs grandmother, a Christmas themed bag for dm (she asked), a decoration for most people and maybe some bunting or something for me....

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 14/07/2021 18:26

In the queue for my second jab

pussycatlickinglollyices · 14/07/2021 18:39

Crazy I've been similar (although I think I managed 3 days and 4 days between mine), I suspect it's due to the vaccine.
I know I'm older and peri, but I've been more regular over the 6m (28d instead of 21-26d) before my first jab than at any time in my life.
It's felt like 2+ months of solid PMT and everything else that comes with it.

TheWoollybacksWife · 14/07/2021 18:48

Crazy that's awful. Have you spoken to a GP or a gynae recently?

Good luck with your jab most

I'm in the car (DH is driving) and we are taking DS to his first in-person karate lesson for 17 months. The boy is going to ache in the morning! He's had online lessons but they aren't as intense.

DD2 has been pinged by the app so she's in Covid jail until Monday morning.

I'm working my way through my craft to-do list - currently knitting socks for a friend with size 8 feet. I may be at it for a while.

CrazyBaubles · 14/07/2021 18:51

Puss I read they are investigating short term effects of the vaccine on cycles so could easily be that. Mine are always all over the place but I feel like this is a bit ridiculous, and I actually feel sorry for DH because I absolutely haven't been myself at all.
I'm going to try and cheer myself up by buying a sewing machine later....

CrazyBaubles · 14/07/2021 18:53

Size 8 feet woolly? That will definitely keep you busy.

I haven't seen any sort of dr for probably 2 years now. I have PCOS and endometriosis so hormones and cycles have been chaotic since I was a teen, it's just that usually the gaps between horrendous periods are longer (usually months) so this is a complete PITA.

I just hope it goes away before we go on holiday in 2 weeks because I can't imagine having to deal with this nonsense in a camper van!

pussycatlickinglollyices · 14/07/2021 19:00

Woolly ooh, that's a lot more wool 🤭😉
Crazy I'm sure we're all crossing everything for you and your campervan expedition 🤞🏻 are you visiting some hairy coos again?

NoWordForFluffy · 14/07/2021 20:04

Nothing wrong with size 8 feet!

I had my first 28 day cycle in a long time after my first jab. I'm on almost-7 weeks now, so I seem to have missed one! It's all very random here.

Many doctors are shit with women's health. Why had a good chap a few years ago. Think he's retired now.

WreckTangled · 14/07/2021 20:10

My period was early this month. Very annoying, not vaccine related though seeing as I had my second one back in March. Hope yours stops soon crazy. Agree with fluffy that doctors don't care about women's health. I know an amazing gp who has set up a clinic specifically for women but it's private so ££££

Ankle still bad. Very kind neighbour who's a physio is going to take a look tomorrow for me. It's weird as sometimes I can walk around the house and think 'oh actually it hardly hurts' then bam I'm in agony again. And it's really swollen still.

CrazyBaubles · 14/07/2021 20:50

Thanks puss.
No plans to see the Coos this time - we're aiming for the Lakes then making our way home via the Welsh coast. It's amazing how much of my own little country I haven't seen Blush

Agree about GPs being crap with women's health Fluffy.
When I lived up north I went to the dr loads because of really severe stomach pains, like cramps but not period related. Was sent home with the patronising advice that it's menstrual cramps and "they can vary month on month you know!"
Turned out to be gallstones which, as they were untreated, landed me in hospital for almost a month with acute pancreatitis 🤬

If I had ££££ I would happily pay it to go to a private women's GP Wreck.

I hope your lovely neighbour can help with your ankle, it sounds very painful and frustrating.

NoWordForFluffy · 15/07/2021 07:35

Morning!

Crazy, that's an awful story. What a bloody patronising idiot.

Wreck, it does sound like an x-Ray would be warranted if it's still swollen. That's been a fair while now. Hopefully your neighbour can help though.

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 15/07/2021 08:31

I had an x ray and nothing showed honestly I'm in so much pain it's ridiculous. I'm wondering if it's a torn ligament Hmm I could cry at times it's so bad. We're going to have a rubbish summer holidays if it doesn't improve by then.

CrazyBaubles · 15/07/2021 08:32

Fluffy that story gets worse too. When the pancreatitis started the pain made it that I couldn't stand up. DH (was a boyfriend then) drove me to the dr who wouldn't come out to see me so I hobbled in with the help of DH and the receptionist.
Dr said it was either very bad menstrual cramps or endometriosis (which at that point I had never had any investigations for and it has never been mentioned before), prescribed a muscle relaxant and sent me home.
Within 3 hours I was sweating, crying in pain (and I never do that) and had vomited something green. DH called an ambulance and I was blue lighted to hospital because I kept passing out on the way. Within 24 hours of going in I was in the high dependency ward (which was part of intensive care)!

Anyway, is the weather scorching for everyone else? I took the dog out at 7 as I think it's going to be too hot to take him for the rest of the day. Up to 27° here today apparently!

I still haven't bought a sewing machine. I'm too chicken to buy one without doing lots of research 🙄 This weekend I will have to pick one though.

CrazyBaubles · 15/07/2021 08:33

Oh Wreck. When will your neighbour have a look for you?

WreckTangled · 15/07/2021 08:37

I'm going to pop round this afternoon. Yes it's lovely and warm here too, not as hot as where you are but will be at the weekend.

pussycatlickinglollyices · 15/07/2021 13:26

It's been really cloudy and quite fresh here, until the sun is started to come out about an hour ago.
Crazy Shock at your Dr! That's awful.
Wreck are you wearing a support bandage? It might help a bit.

WreckTangled · 15/07/2021 15:29

It's been taped up now. Either peroneal tendon or Achilles, she said it's hard to pinpoint the exact location due to all the swelling pain. 😩

pussycatlickinglollyices · 15/07/2021 17:33

Wreck you need to borrow some crutches I think.
