We stayed up watching Sherlock and now I'm wide awake. I'm unimpressed! 😂

At least we finally made it to thread 2...I doubt we will do as many this year!

I got an email about Kew Gardens Priority Bookings (loads already sold out ) they are well on the case here Xmas Grin

WreckTangled · 25/02/2021 20:23

No way?! I'm sure it's usually in the summer it comes out. I suppose they need some money. I'm still hoping to go to Edinburgh this year if I haven't divorced dh but I don't want to spend lots going if there won't be any markets etc. So tricky.

CrazyBaubles · 25/02/2021 21:38

Similar here Wreck - I have a postponed Bruges Christmas market trip in December but don't want to waste it if the market won't be there!

I failed on the Rudolph Day, completely forgot. I'm just about to continue working on the Christmas cross stitch, does that count? I'm still not even half way, I'm really struggling to concentrate on it.

I saw my sister, niece and nephews today which was so so nice. It's been ages, and the little ones were so happy to see me. Niece was telling me all about her 'scream shop' (ice cream shop) off father Crispies (Father Christmas) Xmas Grin Nephew
kept showing me his shoes - it's his first ever pair as he's now on his feet (with splints / frame). Amazing.
Older nephew was complaining about possibly having to go back to school 🙄

WreckTangled · 25/02/2021 21:42

Ah I hope you enjoyed your day crazy.

I actually ordered one of these today. It wasn't cheap but I think we should try and have a good Easter this year!

My DC have just booked Reading Festival, hope it goes ahead, but just feel it will be a Corona pit.

Thanks 70 seems to be a little better atm.

Looking forward to Easter and Easter eggs Wreck

Glad to hear you enjoyed your day Crazy

Morning!

I've been awake since just before 6, thanks to a dog howling somewhere. I am less than impressed, frankly!

But, it's Friday, hurrah. 😁😁 Oh, and pay day. Whoop!

OP posts:
CrazyBaubles · 26/02/2021 08:20

Morning and woohoo 🥳 for Friday & payday Fluffy!
It's not often DH and I get paid on the same day but we have this morning. Feels like we've got money for 5 mins (before the bills take the majority of it)!

Love the choc cottage Wreck

I received my invite for the vaccine yesterday (presumably due to a chronic condition I never mention here). I feel so guilty I haven't told anyone IRL and I'm a bit conflicted about it. I'm not an anti-vaxxer at all and I've made my appointment but I also don't like the idea of it - and I think DH should be having it before me as he has to go back to school FT soon while I'm safe at home.

NoWordForFluffy · 26/02/2021 08:40

You're rich, Crazy! (Briefly!)

I'm officially paid on 27th, so I'm benefiting from that being the weekend for the next two months! I used to work somewhere where the pay date was 'the first working day after 5th', which meant that if Good Friday was 6th April, pay day would be 10th April! It was a shit system and one of the reasons I was glad to leave. 😁

That's a difficult one re the jab. Shame you can't nominate DH in your place, and you have his later on.

OP posts:
NerosFiddle · 26/02/2021 09:16

Morning

Crazy if you are entitled to it, there's no reason to feel guilty. I got mine last week and it was such a relief.

CrazyBaubles · 26/02/2021 09:41

I feel guilty because I think my dad, DH and my ILs should all be getting one before me (dad and ILs are over 60 with a few minor conditions). If I thought I could get away with it I would def give DH my jab and take his later on.

I'm entitled to it because of an issue with my heart that doesn't effect me day to day at all but I guess could be a big problem if I got Covid. Appointment is 11th.

Fluffy what a stupid system in your prev workplace!
Here DH gets paid on the last working day of the month and I get paid 28th or the nearest working day before that.

Before DH became a teacher he worked in retail and I loved our pay then - I got paid 28th, he got paid 14th so we received a salary every 2 weeks and it made life a lot easier.

I have a short but intense work day today - loads to do but aiming to finish at 3 🤞🏼

WreckTangled · 26/02/2021 10:00

It won't be long before they get it crazy. Our local surgeries are already doing group 7.

NoWordForFluffy · 26/02/2021 10:30

Over 60s are booking here at the chemists too. The GPS are on 5, I think. (It's Pfizer at the GP and AZ at the chemist.)

OP posts:
70isaLimitNotaTarget · 26/02/2021 17:12

Payday here too.
Money briefly flitted into account then hoiked out by Cats' Vaccines and trip to Costco with DD to stock up on binbags , kitchen things , freezer foods and other random things not on my list .

I have washing out , it's just hanging sadly , not even attempting to blow about .

MarshmallowManiac · 26/02/2021 20:05

Afternoon everyone. Lovely day here, plenty of sun. Unfortunately haven't seen much of it as spent 4 hours doing a course for school. Quite interesting but my eyes are sore now. YAYY for Friday and payday (yesterday).

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 27/02/2021 00:34

301 by Monday we'll be into the two hundreds Xmas Shock

I'm idly planning garden shopping . Need to get the bottom of the garden sorted (so it's useable) then get some gorgeous climbers/pots to re-create the Dining in an Outdoor Resturant Somewhere Exotic feel (in Essex)

But the rest of the garden needs a tidy first so all the planning needs to wait a bit .

The Chocolate Cottage looks really cute Wreck and some of the reviews said they'd eat more than they built on assembly Xmas Grin
My DC have a giftbag of one large egg (of choice) then some random small ones that I buy when I see a bargain.
Chocolate crispy cakes with mini-eggs on top.

All the thinking about the garden and being out is good but I remember one year , World Book Day was cancelled because snow closed the schools...so not the right time to do too much too soon.

NoWordForFluffy · 27/02/2021 07:44

Morning!

Time to get up, as it's decorating day 2: wallpaper in DD's room and painting in DS'.

It's a lovely sunny day outside. Doesn't it really lift the mood?!

OP posts:
Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 27/02/2021 08:05

Morning all :) It is stunning outside so actually looking forward to the daily walk!

My first week as a SAHM went well. Watched a lot of Death in Paradise and cross stitched. I miscounted one stitch on my Merejka though but didn't realise for ages and I can't face correcting it yet so have started on my Lakeside Village.

Next week I will start being productive and start decluttering the house, it is not looking good after a year of us in it 24/7!

NerosFiddle · 27/02/2021 09:39

Morning.

We're still in our pjs. I'm trying to find the energy to get up but I seem to get as far as the kettle then sit down again.

We're going to the beach apparently this afternoon. It is 8 degrees so why not.

CrazyBaubles · 27/02/2021 10:57

Morning. Busy morning here - I had cleaned the house and DH had done the shopping by 8:30. My dad is here today doing work on our kitchen (we are changing worktops and having an oven and hob fitted). DH is being the labourer and I'm mainly sweeping the mess and making coffee.
Will be leaving them to go for a walk with dsis soon though.

I have no real plans for when I get back - more tidying and coffee then steak tea / tv / cross stitch (I'm so close to completing the first half of the Christmas Merejka one I'm working on).

NoWordForFluffy · 27/02/2021 14:25

We changed our decorating plan. We painted DS' room together and I finished the woodwork in DD's that we didn't do last weekend. Next weekend we're wallpapering one wall in each room. Then getting divorced straight after!

It's such a lovely day here. The kids are playing outside and the greenhouse is really toasty. The first batch of peas are going great guns!

We're have carbonara for dinner. The kids are having chippy tea (the only time I use 'tea' instead of 'dinner')!

Afternoon.
What a lovely day. DH has painted one side of the shed and a bit of fence Hmm no, I don't know why either and done some weeding. I won't let him weed in summer as he generally pulls up the plants not the weeds.
most McDonald and Dodds on ITV was good, they are re-running the first 2 and a new series begins tomorrow. Smile

MarshmallowManiac · 27/02/2021 17:48

Evening everyone. Beautiful day outside, managed to get a nice walk in and started sorting the garden. Watching the rugby with DH, got DS to watch too enticed him out of his room with food. Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 27/02/2021 17:57

We had vegetarian chilli (from the freezer) DH is binge watching "Blacklist" and I stood in the garden watching my washing waft about with the sun on my back (easily pleased me)

PussyCat are you reverting back to your non-Christmas name ?

NoWordForFluffy · 27/02/2021 18:38

I need to paint our fence again, Stockings. Lots of other jobs to do before then though!

It's our first green bin collection of the year on Monday, finally. They don't collect between November and March. I have enough stuff waiting to go in it to fill it again, so I'm impatiently waiting. I also need to mow the lawn, but it's not really getting dry enough yet (north facing), so it'll have to wait a few weeks yet!

I love watching washing, 70. I seem to do it a fair bit! 😂
