We stayed up watching Sherlock and now I'm wide awake. I'm unimpressed! 😂

At least we finally made it to thread 2...I doubt we will do as many this year!

It really isn't warm enough to be sitting outside eating/drinking is it? You wouldn't need ice in your drink. 🍹
It's lovely in the sun, but the minute it goes behind a cloud it's bitter wear your thermal long johns Crazy
Managed to get some veg grow bags for my spuds this morning, but I think I'll need a couple more so DH will call at Wilko tomorrow.

CrazyBaubles · 12/04/2021 14:22

Puss the restaurants provides blankets and outside heaters so between that and my many many layers I'm sure I'll be fine 🥶

Do you have any hints / tips to speed up my cross stitching? I'm desperate to finish the Christmas one I've been working on forever but I'm sooo slow and I don't want to start making a blanket because then I may never pick the cross stitch back up!

Fluffy I hope your first day back is going ok. My mum started back today after being off since Christmas - she's already text me saying she can't cope because her feet feel like they're on fire...

NoWordForFluffy · 12/04/2021 17:56

I got through my emails! Tomorrow is the task list. That I'm dreading (though I got through some today with my emails).

I wouldn't want to sit outside. My hands would lose ALL feeling due to my Raynauds. They even take offence to a slightly cold house! I hope you enjoy being frozen to death your meal though, Crazy! 🥶🥶🥶🥶

Crazy I'm not a fast stitcher, fluffy rattles through project much quicker than me. You could try being strict with yourself - maybe only crochet on 2/3 evenings and cross stitch on others. Not sure I'd be able to stick to a schedule though. Easter Grin

Morning! More sunshine (and freezing weather!) today.

I'm - apparently - a fast stitcher, yes. Not at the moment though as it's all confetti and I've lost impetus. I need an afternoon to myself to finish it off (ha!).

Sainsbury's will be here soon. Time to clean the veg drawer before it appears!

I'm still in bed. Will get up in a minute... probably.

PussyCatEatingEasterEggs · 13/04/2021 07:53

Just sent DH to Wilko for some more potato grow bags.
I've got a parcel coming via Hermes (or Herpes) shall we take bets as to if/when it arrives?🍿😂

CrazyBaubles · 13/04/2021 08:58

Morning! I slept for 8 solid hours last night and still feel tired Confused
Meal out yesterday was lovely - we ended up in a sunny patch so it was actually quite warm - and it was so nice just to go somewhere!

Puss I'm putting my money on your parcel arriving but not until after 4pm.
I don't think I'd have the discipline to crochet some nights and cross stitch on others - I'm more of a 'put 100% time and effort into one project then it's done' type person - I very rarely have 2 projects on the go.

We have blue skies today but there is still frost on my lawn and it's cold so I'm working from the living room today (I have a desk set up in the spare room but that gets no sun and is freezing all the time).

Wreck I hope you've managed to get yourself out of bed!

WreckTangled · 13/04/2021 09:12

Out of bed, full body workout done, screaming session at the kids done, about to get in the shower Grin

PussyCatEatingEasterEggs · 13/04/2021 09:27

No parcel yet, but I now have a dozen potato grow bags. 🥔🥔
Bedding from spare bed currently in the washer it's the Christmassy berry coloured one and it's going back on once it's dry Xmas Smile
DH is going to wash the windows at the back of the house next. It's too sunny at the front in the mornings, and they'd dry streaky again
I've cleaned the bathroom and ensuites, which is my least favourite job (except emptying litter trays💩😺)

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 13/04/2021 10:16

My last annual leave day today. That went quickly. Going to have lunch with a friend, trying to decide how many layers to put on although the sun is out thankfully.

I think the parcel will arrive at 12.22.

PussyCatEatingEasterEggs · 13/04/2021 11:14

Sorry to disappoint you Crazy and why Grin
Parcel arrived at 11.00 she was also delivering to NDN not sure her car was legal to drive tbh, as it was stacked to the roof with stuff. Shock
2 x brand new extra deep white sheets in the washer Smile I'll put them through 2 washes before they get near the bed to get free delivery I bought some knickers, so they cost £3.05 for 5 pairs

Woo-hoo, less than half price new pants...🥳🤦🏻‍♀️

NerosFiddle · 13/04/2021 11:30

Morning.

I'm listening to the radio 5 and they're talking about how they are going to change the terminology of cricket. Maybe I could understand it a bit then.

NerosFiddle · 13/04/2021 12:21

Puss we were talking about cricket a while ago. I just didn't pluck that out of nowhere 🤣

PussyCatEatingEasterEggs · 13/04/2021 12:47

Nero I remember despite the creeping senility of being 49 it's a worry that I'll be talking in "olden-days" cricketing terms that have been perfectly suitable for centuries... 🤔😂
As long as they keep the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method I'll be fine
You don't really need to know anything, just keep your eyes on the hot opening bat 😘🥵😳

PussyCatEatingEasterEggs · 13/04/2021 17:04

My Amazon parcel is also, apparently, due for delivery today (even though it was supposed to be tomorrow)...any guesses on that one??🤔

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 13/04/2021 17:16

Pussy I would say a week next Tuesday!

PussyCatEatingEasterEggs · 13/04/2021 18:03

why erm, not sure how to break this to you, but it arrived at 5(ish)
sorry.

Morning!

Another bright day. I'm thinking that I need to water the plants at the allotment. I'll have to go later as I've no time now! It's not rained in a fair while.

We haven't had any parcels this week. They're coming though! 😁

Why would you need to change cricket terminology? 🤷‍♀️ I sometimes just like to have it on. I'm not arsed about understanding. 🤣😂

We're rewatching LoD from the start. Again. Just to remind ourselves what's what as there are loads of old links coming up this series. 🤯

PussyCatEatingEasterEggs · 14/04/2021 08:33

fluffy DH was instructed to drown the pots of daffs/tulips yesterday, they were so light and desperate for a good drink.
You definately Wink need to watch again - we did and I'm just as confused but it all links back to earlier series and the clues are so subtle I think they're really easy to miss.

WreckTangled · 14/04/2021 10:08

Got the children's feet measured, no really growth which is good! Although ds is a size 3.5 so will no doubt need a 4 soon enough

CrazyBaubles · 14/04/2021 10:22

Morning! It's been all go here - we've had someone pricing up building a retaining wall we didn't know we needed until Sunday and a big delivery of patio materials arrived half hour ago and is now on the driveway.

What parcels are you expecting Fluffy?

puss I'm really enjoying the new series of LoD but I fully expect to binge watch it again as soon as it's over to pick up all the clues I missed.

I have training in work today for 4 hours 🥱

TheWoollybacksWife · 14/04/2021 10:43

Morning all.

A big delivery of patio materials sounds ominous Crazy. Mr Crazy should be on his best behaviour 😀

DS is back at school tomorrow. Everything still fits him thank goodness but he's not impressed as it's cricket this term so he has to carry a big bag of equipment as well as his heavy school bag. He has a locker and can keep his extra books there but he carries everything with him in his backpack - for some reason known only to teenage boys. For Covid reasons they only wear uniform on days when they don't have PE or clubs/matches. This is currently only 1 day a week for DS so he actually has enough (already ironed 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻) shirts in his wardrobe to last until after half term 😂. I will need to turn around his sports kit pretty sharpish at least a couple of times a week if he still wants anyone to sit next to him by the end of the week though.

NerosFiddle · 14/04/2021 10:50

I've watched Sundays LoD twice. I may have spent too long looking at that picture upside down.

I took dd to her pre school this morning forgetting that it's closed today. For some reason they close on a Wednesday.

TheWoollybacksWife · 14/04/2021 11:13

Neros I have to check what day it is most days. I'm only ever absolutely sure about Saturday and Sunday and that's only because of going to Tesco and cooking a roast.
