We stayed up watching Sherlock and now I'm wide awake. I'm unimpressed! 😂

At least we finally made it to thread 2...I doubt we will do as many this year!

And MN is playing up - that wouldn't post the first couple of times.

CrazyBaubles · 06/04/2021 19:11

Fluffy my dad isn't allowed to relax at home - he get told he needs to slow down while simultaneously being complained at about all the jobs she wants doing in their house, although he is absolutely unable to sit still regardless - he is always making or fixing something or learning new tunes on his instruments and has been this way my entire life.

lachy what fancy pants heating system do you have? We have the Hive system and it's a bit too posh for us 😂

Perfect timing today - hail and freezing temperatures but our garden furniture came so DH put that together and put it outside. The neighbour laughed and offered him a umberella 😂

CrazyBaubles · 06/04/2021 19:13

*DH has just corrected me and said we have the Nest system, not Hive 🤷‍♀️

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 06/04/2021 19:15

Hi Crazy. I feel quite rough actually. I was hoping as I felt ill last time, I wouldn't after this one but I was wrong. Feel really sick and lightheaded and my glands are up.

PussyCatEatingEasterEggs · 06/04/2021 19:38

why bed and paracetomol. Hopefully by tomorrow you'll feel a lot better. 💐

CrazyBaubles · 06/04/2021 22:50

Oh that's rubbish why. I hope you're tucked up in bed with some paracetamol and water as Puss said 💐

Morning!

Why, I hope you're feeling better today.

We're not sure about our planned trip to Speke Hall. We've a feeling it may be more endurance than enjoyable, given the weather. 🥶😂 We shall see what the kids want to do once they're up.

I have booked the local wetlands place for a week on Saturday. Hopefully it'll be somewhat warmer by then.

MN is very poorly indeed at present, Puss. It falls down rather often.

Morning. Still feeling ropey. Hoping it will vanish on the 24 hour mark like it did last time.

I am sat in bed with a cuppa. Totally glam as always here.

NerosFiddle · 07/04/2021 10:22

Morning.

Why, hopefully it passes soon.

Dc are watching an atrocious show. I think it's something they would play over and over again in hell. But it gives me some time to have a hot cup of tea and some breakfast. I might even get a few minutes to read a bit of my book.

CrazyBaubles · 07/04/2021 19:22

It is freezing here. According to the met office it's 8degrees but feels like 3 🥶
We've just been outside clearing the side and watching my dad cut through a brick wall ready for work on the garden to start on Friday.

why I hope you're feeling better soon.

Neros what show was it? My niece and nephew watch some awful nonsense that makes them laugh but the rest of us pull these faces HmmConfused
I had a meeting in work today with someone and ended up finding out she's a fellow crafter so spent a nice bit of time chatting about Christmas cross stitch kits and crochet patterns Xmas Grin

Morning!

Is everybody OK? I woke at 6.30, but then - by some kind of miracle - went back to sleep for 40 minutes or so.

I'm definitely allotmenting today. Lots of digging / weeding to do. I will scatter some flower seeds too. And I need to fleece the ground where my parsnips are going, so it warms a bit before I put the seeds in! Lots of little jobs as well as the big ones!

OP posts:
CrazyBaubles · 08/04/2021 09:18

Morning!

I've never heard of fleecing the ground Fluffy - is that exactly what it sounds like (ie putting a blanket of fleece on the ground)?

I had a strange nights sleep - I seemed to have deep sleep but kept waking up so I was confused between what I was dreaming and what was reality. I feel strangely well rested this morning though Confused

Lots of work to get done today but I WILL finish at 4, I'm determined unlike yesterday when I was just as determined and ended up logging off at 6:30

NoWordForFluffy · 08/04/2021 09:22

Yeah, it's garden fleece, not like a fleece jumper, but warms the soil before sowing. Which is handy for parsnips as they're stupidly fussy buggers!

NerosFiddle · 08/04/2021 09:35

Morning.

Crazy it was a show called Blippi. It's awful! Give me CBeebies any day of the week.

I slept for 9 hours last night. I had to wake ds up at 8. Unheard of.

NoWordForFluffy · 08/04/2021 09:40

Oh god. We hate Blippi! 😂😂

We get to watch Steve Backshall A LOT in this house. Over and over and over. Thank god they're interesting!

PussyCatEatingEasterEggs · 08/04/2021 10:10

Morning,
Calm is nearly restored chez PussyCat. I just need to dig out a different curtain for the front door then put my curtain pole back up and that's 2 rooms done...
Not sure if DH is up for doing any more decorating, but I'd like to do all downstairs and our bedroom (at least) this spring/summer. I'll need some more magic paint if we do. Xmas Grin

CrazyBaubles · 08/04/2021 14:06

I'm pretty sure I've heard my sister complaining about Blippi Neros!
My pet hate is Peppa Pig 😡 the music / intro sets me on edge.

I thought parsnips were one of the hardy, easier things to grow Fluffy?
My vague plan is to settle for herbs, strawberries and wildflowers this year while we get the garden sorted then attempt to grow some potatoes, carrots, parsnip, garlic and some sort of fruit next year.

DH has got my eldest nephew watching the gold mining show he likes as nephew is very into the mechanics of machines and the show focuses a lot on the machines and the various fixes they use when they break down.
I think it's boring but it's much much better than the stuff we used to watch with him when he was younger except Rolie Polie Olie which I secretly liked

NoWordForFluffy · 08/04/2021 14:40

Once parsnips are growing, they're fine. Getting them to bloody germinate can be a challenge!

I've done just over 4 hours at the allotment. I'm knackered now!

I've put a photo of the fleece on, Crazy. Plus the other area I dug / weeded and the fat worm I found (there were loads; this was the fattest though!).

261 morning. Dd has a physio appt this morning so DH is staying home with ds. He will go to work afterwards. It's another sunny day here, it's been quite warm in the sun. We've been walking lots and not much else.

NoWordForFluffy · 09/04/2021 09:11

Morning!

I'm going on a pepper hunt shortly. Should be fun. 🙄🙄 DH's Nectar offers will be updated at 10, so I'm coordinating my actions with this! 🤣

Then I don't know what we'll do. Maybe go for a scoot around the park again, if the kids fancy it. Plus I'll clean the bathroom at some point too.

OP posts:
whydoesitalwayshappentome · 09/04/2021 10:05

Morning folks. I am cleaning the house today and I began early as my son started a new job and with his ability to sleep through alarms, drills etc I woke him up.

I feel much better now finally but took me longer with this second vaccine than it did the first.

NoWordForFluffy · 09/04/2021 14:26

Well, seemingly DH isn't getting any bonus points offers today, as they haven't appeared yet. 🤷‍♀️

I'm trying to psych myself up to clean the bathroom. Challenging! I always struggle with motivation when I'm off work.

I watched some of the tributes to Prince Phillip yesterday , it said on one of them that he was 18 and she was 13 when she first noticed him (but they'd met before at 8 and 13 at an event)
So really is a life-long love .

(DH and I met when we were 19 , our DC think it's cool and weird in equal measure Xmas Grin )

I might drag my DS to the supermarket , partly to get him doing something but mainly because my shoulder is playing up and I dont want to aggrevate it .

WreckTangled · 10/04/2021 08:02

I met dh when I was 19 and he was 20.

NoWordForFluffy · 10/04/2021 08:03

I was 31 when I met DH! 😂
