We stayed up watching Sherlock and now I'm wide awake. I'm unimpressed! 😂

At least we finally made it to thread 2...I doubt we will do as many this year!

I got a really sunburnt face today

We've not had sunburn weather. Wind burn, maybe!

I looked like I had freckles from the fence paint which blew over my arms!

Happy Easter Monday

I went out for a walk yesterday and took my cardigan off

It's taken me a long time to do my garden, lachy, as the allotment gets more of my time and effort! I'm rather pleased with yesterday's efforts though.

I really hurt today...I'm getting old!

It's my nose a cheek! It was really warm for a while there. Not today 🥶

We have a few flakes of snow , just very light , swirly snow . I thought it was petals from a shrub at frst .
And a noisy howling wind this morning

I decorated the table for Easter Sunday Dinner , nice green tablecover, yellow chicks, pretty rabbit napkins .
And made Yorkshire Puddings (some stuck , no idea why , it was random ) but they were risen beautifully DS was well impressed

So today is a Lard-About-Might-Clean-A-Bit sort of day and lasagne for dinner .

It's gorgeous and sunny here, but also bloody freezing as the wind chill is immense!

We've rearranged the greenhouse racking to give us a bit more space to get in and out. It's taken up with the new herbs at the moment, but once the weather is warmer they'll go outside.

I've said I'll take the kids scooting in the park later, but none of us have managed to get dressed yet. So that'll be an after-lunch job. I need to buy some milk too. And that will be the limit to my productivity today!

We had some swirly snow as well. Glorious sunshine now though.

I've not achieved a great deal today, aside from making a Bolognese sauce and a pineapple upside down cake, and I'm feeling very unmotivated!

3 more bank holiday weekends left until the big one

One of my plants arrived today - I've ordered about 6 , so the others are coming later .
Opened the box , roots are fantastic .
I potted it on and put it in the little greenhouse thing.

I'm hoping to have some nicely established plants by the time it's planting out time .

Still waiting for quotes from landscape gardeners . Had one back but of course you need a couple/three for ideas.
Might end up with loads of plants and only half a garden to put them in

I've just woken up well, I was woken by DH's twitching legs!. Good job I booked Sainsbury's for later this morning!

I need to go and do some digging today. The excitement. Not!

I've also got to pick up two Amazon orders from Dobbies, which is just across the road from the allotment, though there is no direct route! 😂

I wasted yesterday completely. Had a lie in, small amount of cleaning, walk with my friend and her dd then shut myself in the living room in the dark to watch Sunday's LoD before doing an hour or so of cross stitch then going to bed and passing out.

70 We got 5 quotes for the work for our garden and they ranged from £3k to £8k!
I was moaning to my dad about it and he's arranged for someone he knows to come with a digger and do the prep for a very small charge and he's offered to do the patio for me as long as DH will be his labourer - I am such a grateful brat lol.

Sainsbury's has been and gone, and is all put away. It was only the basics plus a litre of vodka, so didn't take long.

We've painted the hall ceiling and coving yesterday, and cleaned the light fittings Mother of God, they were filthy DH is now doing the cutting in of the walls with a small brush...just 2 double doors, 4 single doors, sockets, switches and the front door to avoid. 🤔🤦🏻‍♀️
I'm v confused about LoD...I may have to step back and binge it on the day of the final episode of this series.
Crazy excellent work there in volunteering your DH as labourer. Top marks will he be digging his own plot? 😹😹

I think I have a weird guilt thing about wasting days off. I thoroughly enjoyed my day but feel like I should have been productive. I blame my mother who used to insist 'lazing around' was a bad thing, no matter how busy you'd been in the run up 🙄

Puss there's an unwritten deal here - my dad uses his skills to do work on our house for free but DH does all the heavy lifting so dad doesn't have to.
He's saved us £££ and it keeps DH out of my way for a while

Just finished work. It's 🥶 here and we've had hail on and off all day.

We've had snow on and off today. Stupid weather. Ds has football training tonight 🥶

I chickened out of the allotment as it’s too bastard cold! I did go to Dobbies though to buy some tomato plants (I’m not growing them from seed this year as I don’t have the inclination, or the space, especially as I only want a few plants) and collect two Amazon parcels from the lockers there (free delivery even though I don’t have Prime, which is fine by me as it’s only a short walk).

My mother sounds similar to yours, Crazy. I think poor dad would’ve liked more relaxing time when he was younger. Thankfully he’s now ‘allowed’ to relax, now he’s in his 70s!

Ooh. We now have sleet. It suddenly came over very black and now whoosh!

I don't blame you Fluffy it's been bloody cold all day here - sunshine interspersed with snow. DD is a bit cross it hasn't settled, I'm very happy it hasn't 🥶

My BIL set up our fancy pants heating system yesterday and it has decided that it needs the heating to be on at a constant 21°. I'm okay with that, DH is grumbling but I have asked him loads of times to sort it and he didn't. He has just put up our fancy pants Ring Doorbell and DD keeps testing it out.

Pizza 🍕 for tea tonight with a very big G&T for me and LoD (definitely recommend watching the earlier series, makes it easier to follow and refresh your memory)

Snowed here too - it's really odd, bright and sunny at the front and black and gloomy at the back.
