We stayed up watching Sherlock and now I'm wide awake. I'm unimpressed! 😂

At least we finally made it to thread 2...I doubt we will do as many this year!

What colour are you painting your kitchen, Puss?

OP posts:
PussyCatEatingEasterEggs · 15/03/2021 08:10

The same as it is now (Ivory Cream). It's looking a bit scuffed behind where the cats eat and around their litter tray from me wiping it down all of the time. I'll get DH to give the ceiling a coat of white too, just to brighten it all up having long arms comes in handy for that 😺

CrazyBaubles · 15/03/2021 09:24

Morning.

We're looking at doing some garden work too 70 but the idea of it stresses me out. We want to put down patio (which means we have to dismantle a raised platform on the side of the house) and put up 2 sheds at the bottom, then get a potting bench and various pots & plants for me to kill with my lack of gardening skills
When are you starting?

Did you order all the different meals from the same place yesterday Wreck?

puss I am 😱 that you are painting voluntarily. I think it's the worst job and will avoid it at all costs.

Diet went a bit wrong yesterday as DH bought donuts (but I did only eat one). Back to it today...

WreckTangled · 15/03/2021 09:33

Yes crazy from a lovely pub in a nearby town. Can't believe they delivered to us!

NerosFiddle · 15/03/2021 10:04

Morning.

Dh is off work all week so it means I don't have to rush in the morning trying to get everyone ready for the school run. I even got to go to Sainsbury's and buy some fresh bread. I think I'll make poached eggs to go with it for lunch.

I watched the first half hour of the 1st episode of blood lands. I can't stand anything N Irish that goes on about the troubles. It's just embarrassing.

I did watch CBeebies bedtime story last night not for the gorgeous man reading it, for the important story Wink

Morning!

I slept like the dead last night! I did the school run twice, a walk to Aldi, plus did a couple of hours of digging yesterday. I conked out at about 9.30 on the sofa as I couldn't stay awake any longer!

Neros, we still need to watch the final Bloodlands. What is it you find embarrassing when you watch stuff about the troubles? Is it how they're shown?

Back to work today. Boooo!

I'm going into the office today. First time since mid December! Wearing some new paper bag trousers for the occasion Grin

NerosFiddle · 16/03/2021 07:57

Morning.

Dc have a non uniform day today because of st Patrick's day. They're then off for 3 days. 🤷‍♀️

Fluffy I think it's because it gives the impression that all NI is is the troubles. But it's been over nearly 25 years now.

NoWordForFluffy · 16/03/2021 08:31

I think those of us who grew up when the Troubles were prominent are aware of the GFA and what went on before, contrasting to now.

Unfortunately, Bloodlands as a programme (subject matter notwithstanding) wasn't as good as it could've been. Shame, as Jed usually does well.

I agree with all of that plus sometime between the first and second episode I saw a meme with 9 images of James Nesbitt asking something along the lines of "Which Jimmy are you today?" with the gag being that it was virtually the same expression in every photo. Once I'd seen that I found his facial expressions in the show didn't seem to change 😬.

CrazyBaubles · 16/03/2021 09:28

Morning.
I've never watched Bloodlands so can't comment on that.

Neros I didn't know much about the troubles as I was too young for a lot of it (I'm 35).
I don't think it's the first thing that comes to mind when talking about NI for a lot of people my age and younger - not sure if that's a good or bad thing though.

Enjoy your day in the office Wreck!

I need to stop procrastinating and concentrate on work. I don't know what's wrong with me lately, I've been massively struggling to be focus.

WreckTangled · 16/03/2021 12:52

You know you live in a tiny village when.... you get told you're not allowed in the shop because they're closing for a funeral procession that's about to go by. I only wanted some eggs!

TheWoollybacksWife · 16/03/2021 16:10

I've just managed to book my vaccination appointment for just before the end of the month 🎉🎉

NoWordForFluffy · 16/03/2021 17:10

How did you not know about it, Wreck?! They failed in updating you beforehand.

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 16/03/2021 17:20

I'm a bad, bad villager.

PussyCatEatingEasterEggs · 16/03/2021 17:50

Woolly It's probably all the botox in his face. 😶
Well done on booking your jab...don't forget, you will need to rest afterwards😉 as your arm will be sore, your DH may want to cook that evening😂
Nero If it's not the troubles, it's the Titanic - and that was 109yrs ago.
Wreck you need to grow some chickens.🐔

WreckTangled · 16/03/2021 18:09

Nah don't fancy chickens. To much hard work. Plus they attract rats. My dads chickens all got killed by a pole cat last year. I had a stoat run out in front of me earlier, don't see them very often.

NoWordForFluffy · 17/03/2021 07:30

Morning!

Quite a few people at the allotment have chickens. I've no idea about attracting rats though, as they're there too anyway.

Is it stoats or weasels that's are baddies in Wind in the Willows?

We watched the last Bloodlands. I'm not sure if we were meant to be glad about the conclusion or not!

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 17/03/2021 07:45

Weasels I think. They're always seen as baddies.

I'm not feeling it this morning. Meh. At least the suns out for now. Need to decide when to exercise, probably best to do it as soon as the dc have gone but really don't have any motivation

CrazyBaubles · 17/03/2021 08:26

Morning. I'm having a slow start as I've had the same headache since yesterday.

My MIL has chickens that she's rescued and I love them - they are unusually friendly though. They live alongside horses and ducks in the middle of the countryside and they have a regular mice problem because of the feed so I assume rats are around.

Now, time to start work 😩

WreckTangled · 17/03/2021 09:11

Yes we have rats around and there's horses in the field. They tend to not be in our garden though and if we had chickens they would be. One neighbour has a big veg patch and the other has a massive mood store so thankfully the rats prefer their gardens.

NerosFiddle · 17/03/2021 11:56

Happy St Patrick's Day ☘️

MarshmallowManiac · 17/03/2021 13:23

Happy St Patrick's Day everyone, hope you are all well.

Hope your headache improves Crazy

CrazyBaubles · 17/03/2021 18:17

Happy St Patrick's Day ☘️ Can't believe I got that muddled, I thought it was tomorrow and had been determined to post it for the Irish on the thread Blush

Headache has been held at bay with a combination of high dose soluble aspirin and paracetamol Marshmallow

All in all it's been a good day so far. I even attempted baking and it came out ok (low cal banana and blueberry loaves)!
Have cleaned a little, walked the dog, done some yoga and now having a giggle at the 'Things I've done wrong according to teen DD' thread before attempting some cross stitch.

MarshmallowManiac · 17/03/2021 19:25

Glad to hear that Crazy, oooh banana and blueberry yum.
