We stayed up watching Sherlock and now I'm wide awake. I'm unimpressed! 😂

At least we finally made it to thread 2...I doubt we will do as many this year!

Afternoon everyone. Dry but a bit miserable here. Currently doing a Learning Disability course while on Mumsnet Grin Pup having major nap atm, been sleeping for about 2 hours. Smile I'm 5 7 but still can't reach the high cupboard in the kitchen. Grin Shepherd's Pie for dinner tonight. mainly because it means I can get a pile of veg into my vegetable hating DS. Grin

Me too lachy

Hope you are feeling better Crazy

Sounds lovely Woolly

CrazyBaubles · 04/03/2021 16:09

Woolly you must have a much better memory than me - I have to physically write a to-do list whenever I remember I need to do something or I forget until I'm doing something random like showering / walking the dog.

Well done on solving the pudding problem!

I'm still wrapped in the hot water bottle marshmallow

I've finished watching Scandal - I need something new to binge watch now if anyone has any suggestions?

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 04/03/2021 16:35

Woolly where is the foodie place? I would be interested in having a nose at some point.

TheWoollybacksWife · 04/03/2021 17:07

The ice skating place why. They have a big food hall and the probably overpriced food is lovely.

Crazy you watched the West Wing recently didn't you? Just trying to think of shows with lots of series and relatable characters...
Have you watched Grey's Anatomy? The Blacklist. Unforgotten. The Split. Studio 66 on the Sunset Strip is by the same people as the WW but I think there's only one series. I really enjoyed The Newsroom too (another Aaron Sorkin one). White Collar. NCIS in all its incarnations.

NoWordForFluffy · 04/03/2021 17:15

Pussy, I don't need more height. I would like to be my original height again though. I'm all crunched up!

I also can't reach the back of the top shelves in our kitchen cupboards. I stand on a toddler stool! I'm 5'11" or was!

Ice skating?! Where the hell is that? I didn't know that existed. It sounds like a good plan, Woolly.

Hope you recover soon, Crazy. It might have been better to fall!

I just realised as I was typing todays date into my computer ( to date photos etc) that its
04/03/21 .............so 4321

I am 5'5" and officially the shortest in my family .
My DS and DD tower over me at 5'11" and 5'7" (and growing )
DS complains I only had him "to reach tall shelves" Xmas Grin

MarshmallowManiac · 04/03/2021 19:24

Oh no Crazy hope it improves. In the evening always have a hot water behind me for my back. It's a giraffe one that the doggie always try to play with. Grin Would recommend 'Informer' and 'Its a sin' and also 'Modern Family' for an easy, funny watch.

My DS recommends 'Greys Anatomy' Woolly must give it a watch.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 04/03/2021 21:18

I haven't been there for years Woolly, I have some annual leave in April I may have to go over.

Morning!

Still a bit chilly, but no frost. I got a bit cold hanging the washing out I was still in a dressing gown mind you first thing!

Can you still watch Scrubs anywhere? That's good fun!

OP posts:
NoWordForFluffy · 05/03/2021 08:40

Pussy, there's a really nice cat design in this month's World of Cross Stitching.

I got a further 5 month e-subscription for £5!

CrazyBaubles · 05/03/2021 08:48

I didn't post last night as was in a bad mood - I was about 10 stitches away from finishing the first half yesterday when I realised I misread the colours and had used thread 27 (pink) when it should be thread 28 (blue) for chunks of the sky 😩.
I've unpicked all the stitches now so will hopefully finish this half tonight.

Thank you for all the tv suggestions. I've already watched a lot of them Blush but will have a look at White Collar. Have also discovered Damages on Amazon prime so may try that too.
I've really struggled with NCIS, I just can't get into it, although I loved CSI back in the day and they're quite similar.

Fluffy I love Scrubs. That and Brooklyn Nine Nine are my go-to for a giggle when I need one.

My back has loosened a little (I did a lot of stretches yesterday) but is still sore and gives me shooting pains if I move in a certain way 🙄

NoWordForFluffy · 05/03/2021 08:51

Did you watch Goliath, Crazy? That was good, albeit short!

OP posts:
PussyCatEatingEasterEggs · 05/03/2021 09:11

Thanks Fluffy I'll have a look for it.
Crazy keep moving/stretching, and use Ibuprofen gel after a hot bath.
I stitched a whole multi-coloured bird half a stitch to the right of where it should be last weekend. It had taken hours as it was a faffy little blighter with loads of half and quarter stitches. 🙄😤

CrazyBaubles · 05/03/2021 09:20

puss did you unpick it all?
In this one I've also stitched one patch of colour a full stitch further to the left than it should be but as it's all part of the sky I've just covered it up.

I'll keep stretching but I don't have a bath in this house so hot showers are the best I can do.

I did watch Goliath Fluffy. I struggled with that because I don't like BBT - something about him gives me the creeps - but it was one of the few things DH and I could watch together so we persevered with it.

I miss Sons of Anarchy. Was ridiculous but I didn't have to concentrate too hard and we could both watch it - left to DH we'd end up watching nothing but travel documentaries, sport and stuff about gold mining and left to me we'd watch a lot of gritty murder stuff and Christmas films Xmas Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 05/03/2021 10:04

DH is binge watching "The Blacklist" after work and weekends ( 8 series , over 20 episodes each )
It's fine if you like James Spader ( he's a very good smug villan Grin ) but the number of times people are dead/not dead or on the brink of death/fine 5 minutes later or awaiting execution/reprieved ...........

Lance Henrikson ( Bishop from Aliens) did a few guest appearances so I though worth watching for that .

Have you watched "Medium"? It's pretty good

CrazyBaubles · 05/03/2021 10:15

Blacklist is something DH & I watch together. Agreed JS is very smug and I don't actually like 'Agent Keen.' I mostly watch because of a soft spot for Aram.

Never tried Medium so will have a look.

This sounds like I do nothing but watch tv - I don't, honestly, it's just that I like background noise to drown out DH and his meetings / lessons but I hate the radio and I get distracted by audiobooks.

PussyCatEatingEasterEggs · 05/03/2021 11:13

Crazy Yes - just started re-stitching it in the correct place this morning due to a loo seat related incident (it fell down on the back of my hand while I was cleaning the loo) the bruise is still there but it's a bit puffy/sore so I'll just do an odd half hour now and again.
I re-counted the right number of stitches about 10 times before I committed needle and thread.😂
Hot shower with the water pointed at the exact spot will work - I never have a bath, always a shower. That's how I knew DH was a keeper, he had a shower fitted and retiled his bathroom so I didn't have to have a bath. 😻

CrazyBaubles · 05/03/2021 11:33

I'm the opposite - I love a bath and one of the biggest downside of this house for me is that it has a shower only. Not worth changing for a while though as bathroom is only 3 years old and the shower is fancy it's a complete PITA trying to shave my legs in there though

DH is here today and he's so noisy. Apparently no one can hear him unless he's shouting his head off 😡

NerosFiddle · 05/03/2021 11:54

Last day of home schooling here!

Crazy have you watched Outlander? I think I remember that you watched the Americans.

I'm a short arse at 5"1. I can't reach anything 😂

MarshmallowManiac · 05/03/2021 16:46

Afternoon everyone. Very chilly here but dry at least, absolutely frozen when walking the doggie.

Oh no Crazy sorry to hear that. Sad I am definitely an advocate of hot baths to help my back, hope you soon start to feel better. Also loved the incredibly long 'How to get away with murder', Missing, Baptiste, Happy Valley, One of us, Safe House and Hinterland. Watching Real Detective atm.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 05/03/2021 20:20

DS asked me to drive him to McDonalds for the drive through.
"You need to get petrol and drop off the glass recycling .....and I haven't been out in weeks" he said as way of a sweetener for me to drive him Xmas Grin

So some Mother/Son bonding time in the McD queue !

I can see this becoming A Thing .......!

Morning!

I'm on day 2 of a headache now. Not good. What is good is that DH is off next week now to use up A/L so he's going to do the wallpapering in the kids' rooms then instead of us doing it today. So that's a slight win!

I've been awake ages. Though I did go to sleep early on the sofa last night, so in theory I've had enough sleep!

70, can your DS not drive? I suppose it's nice to have a thing to do together though!

OP posts:
70isaLimitNotaTarget · 06/03/2021 12:19

Ouch! Is it a migrane type headache Fluffy ? They can be a bugger to shift . Nothing touches them and (IME) only the finale of vomiting would shift them.

I looked at the two , sad bananas in the fruit bowl and rustled up some Banana Bread (Mary Berry recipe ) in the oven now .

DS doesn't drive -probably a good thing , he'd be at the Drive Through every night ! Last time we did the petrol/recycle/McD trip was just after New Year . I'm sure he's been out to the local Tesco since then Xmas Confused or Post Box .
How touching that a trip out with Muvver is the highlight of his Friday !

I've planted out Sweet Peas and Nastursium seeds in a covered seed tray . Looking at large tubs and climbers for the bottom of the garden once it's paved over .
We're not going on holiday this year so a few sunny days on a lounger surrounded by plants will do .

TheWoollybacksWife · 06/03/2021 12:45

70 someone DH threw out overripe bananas this week 🤦🏻‍♀️ he's the only one in the house who doesn't like banana bread.

I'm being domesticated this morning. I've been to the butcher, dinner is in the slow cooker, I've sorted the clean laundry and I'm currently sitting at the kitchen table sewing hanging loops into the corner of all our flannels. Lockdown needs to end soon 🤣🤣🤣
