Before I nod off in a food / booze coma, here is our new thread!

We've had a lovely, chilled, day building Lego. I should probably eat more cheese to really finish the day in style though. 🧀🧀🧀

Stockings, I doubt it will last I will probably take some to work with me as I am in the office tonight.

We have loads of goodies left I doubt it will ever get finished 🤣

PussyCatInChristmasStockings · 04/01/2021 15:59

why, are you allowed to take some in if it's wrapped? that might remove some of the temptation. or you could just sneaky eat some 😇😈

PussyCatInChristmasStockings · 04/01/2021 16:01

fluffy if you don't end up with a bumper crop of garlic this year, it won't be my fault - every time I get up at 5am to f*ing freezing temperatures I swear think of your garlic. 🤣🤣

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 04/01/2021 17:05

We can take food in as long as we don't share it out so anything is game really. I can sense it is going to happen Stockings

WreckTangled · 04/01/2021 18:28

Our cases are shooting to. 286 yesterday then bbc have updated three times today to now say 424/100000 the highest ever. Our adult survives at work are under 100 times the amount of pressure they were in March/April and the hospitals are avoiding admitting anyone.

NoWordForFluffy · 04/01/2021 18:33

We've rocketed up to 490/100,000. I'm guessing the figures haven't been accurate since before Christmas maybe?

Some places in the SE are 1,400/100,000! 😱😱

CrazyBaubles · 04/01/2021 18:42

Ooh Stockings I may send DH away so I can watch - I'm now about to start episode 12.

why I hope work goes ok. If you're on night shifts anyway I would make a little goodie treat box to take with you for each shift and fill it with whatever you've got that you'll enjoy.

Our Covid numbers are 554/100k but that's actually come down as it was at least 650 before Christmas.

Welsh government have just announced schools to close and remote learning to start up again until 18th Jan. DH has already asked about hub schools and it means the clearing up I did after the bloody class pet yesterday was pointless as she is now back here, probably permanently (hamster).

On the plus side, the full searches and report for the new house came back today with no issues. Now have to sign some stuff and organise life insurance for me then full speed ahead!

WreckTangled · 04/01/2021 18:46

Ours was stuck on the date of up to the 28th December and is now up to the 31st which would include Christmas mixing I suppose? I know lots of people would have caught it at work or doing essential things but I really would like to know how many people caught it by not being sensible.

Good news crazy!

PussyCatInChristmasStockings · 04/01/2021 18:52

Where are you looking for your figures? I've checked the got website and we're 299/100k but I thought it would have been a lot higher.
Crazy are you excited or in a blind panic yet? Xmas Grin I found packing everything and having a good sort out really enjoyable, not sure how long it would take now though - we have far more stuff crap than we did.😳🤦🏻‍♀️
Ep 13 is "The Cold" iirc? 😘

PussyCatInChristmasStockings · 04/01/2021 18:53

gov not got ffs. fat fingers and touch typing in the dark. I really ought to put a lamp on.😂

WreckTangled · 04/01/2021 18:54

BBC website.

NoWordForFluffy · 04/01/2021 18:56

Here, Stockings.

PussyCatInChristmasStockings · 04/01/2021 19:02

ah, well, now we're 408/100k for half the county.
prev number was our postcode on www.coronavirus.data.gov.uk

CrazyBaubles · 04/01/2021 19:17

I've checked both websites - 550 on one, 554 on the other.

Episode 13 is 'The Cold' Stockings. I'm watching ep 11 now.

I'm excited for the move. We have plans for some decorating and a slight change to the kitchen we want to make - I just want to get in there and get started. And I can't wait to do a few pots for the garden in the summer - we'll have a flat garden, some lawn and it won't all be in the shade for the first time in 12 years 🥳

We've packed up everything that we can. We have a tip run booked but we also have loads for the charity shop and some furniture to get rid of - I wanted to donate it but nowhere is open to take it which is annoying.

NerosFiddle · 04/01/2021 19:29

It's 671/100k here. Not good at all.

In Armagh today the rate is 1747/100000.

NoWordForFluffy · 04/01/2021 19:32

The one you linked drills down more locally, Stockings. We're 451.1/100k on there for a small area.

WreckTangled · 04/01/2021 21:43

Our school isn't open at all tomorrow. Bit annoying as I'm meant to be in the office but I know I'm not in as bad a position as many others and the dc can go in from Wednesday.

NoWordForFluffy · 04/01/2021 23:10

Ours isn't either. Online learning from Weds or KW / vulnerable kids in school. We're waiting to see what the KW provision is to see if we'll use it as DH is definitely a KW and I apparently am!

Sideorderofchips · 04/01/2021 23:31

Well I've started for 2021 😂

Countdown to Christmas 2021 (thread 1): Here we go again!
WreckTangled · 05/01/2021 06:40

I feel bad as I'm mainly working from home with little actual work but our trust have said we aren't allowed to wfh with the dc home if the school is offering key worker provision.

NoWordForFluffy · 05/01/2021 06:51

Morning!

I wouldn't feel bad, Wreck. If your employer had instructed you to do it then you have to!

I actually have no idea how anyone WFH and does homeschool stuff with their kids. DH didn't work last time due to someone shielding in the house he works in, but the person he supports can't have another break like that so may have to come here instead.

We'll see if we qualify for KW spaces or not and go from there!

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 05/01/2021 06:56

Exciting about the move crazy! Sounds as though you are very organised.

Day 1 of home schooling yesterday went well. I guessed the WG announcement was coming as the school sent a home learning timetable for two weeks not one week!

Have to say I am so glad I am currently on sick leave and will soon be handing in my notice. The difference from last lockdown when both DH and I were juggling jobs and childcare is immense.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 05/01/2021 07:25

Proud moment here, it is the 5th Jan and I am on almost £10 of nectar points! Meal planned around the offers this week and got almost £5 of points from one shop!

NoWordForFluffy · 05/01/2021 08:31

Yay! Join the Nectar point collection club! We got over a fiver in today's shop too.

We have just over £119.00 as we didn't spend them all last year. We started last year on about £20 though, so you have a good chance of doing well!

Crazy, now the searches are back it should fly. Are you still hoping for next week?

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 05/01/2021 08:36

Thanks I am starting from scratch this year and really hoping to build up enough to pay for the entire Christmas food shop.
