Before I nod off in a food / booze coma, here is our new thread!

We've had a lovely, chilled, day building Lego. I should probably eat more cheese to really finish the day in style though. 🧀🧀🧀

You should be able to. We fare better because we have various insurance products (though one less this year as we've gone elsewhere for home insurance, so get triple points instead of quadruple). The bonus points are bloody brilliant though. I think they came in last March, so this is the full year of those too.

Make sure your Nectar is linked at eBay and Argos too.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 05/01/2021 09:20

Yes got some stuff from Argos on Sunday and those points should come through soon, I don't use eBay. I do usually check when buying anything online if there is a nectar deal :)

I said to DH that when our insurances expire in April we should have a look at Sainsburys.

CrazyBaubles · 05/01/2021 10:04

Morning!

Well done on the head start chips!

Wreck DH has had to go into school today even though there will be no kids in for a couple of weeks.
Seems crazy to me - yesterday they all sat in their separate classrooms and attended meetings and training via zoom so why he had to take the risk of going in I have no idea!

most I'm so glad you're feeling better about lockdown this time around. And Yay for the nectar points!

Fluffy the contract says everything will take a week once the sols receive the signed docs they sent us yesterday and proof we've closed our Help to buy ISA's - as long as the seller can meet the date.
We closed the accounts before Christmas so DH will be printing the docs today, I'll sign then he's going to deliver them to the sols office so fingers crossed 🤞🏼
Sellers have pretty much cleared the house already so hopefully there'll be no delays their end but you never know!

I have somehow picked up yet another cold. No idea how - I haven't been anywhere or seen anyone since Christmas Day!
I'm at my desk sniffing and feeling freezing - but I have a foot massager roller ball under my desk and a long, thin hot water bottle around my neck / shoulders (both Christmas presents that are amazing) 🤧

NerosFiddle · 05/01/2021 11:36

Crazy do you know where I could get the hot water bottle for around your shoulders.

I've only got £4 of nectar points so far. And then £10.50 of Clubcard. I'm trying to get £40/£50 for each so that'll take care of Christmas from the supermarkets next year.

I tried again on the vaccine date and this is what I've got.

Mines changed again too.

CrazyBaubles · 05/01/2021 11:59

Neros my mum bought mine from heree* and it looks like they will deliver to you.

I have the blue one (pic) but a quick look shows they have a lovely Christmassy one (second pic). It's was a genius present from my dm.

I'm going to walk the dog in a min and I think it's going to be freezing so I'll need it again when I get home 🥶

NerosFiddle · 05/01/2021 12:04

Crazy I bought the Christmas one. 😃

Wreck have you heard anything about getting it yet?

WreckTangled · 05/01/2021 12:08

No not yet. They're currently vaccinating the community nursing staff and staff from bedded units.

Sideorderofchips · 05/01/2021 13:07

Morning all

Thanks to a strict lockdown over Christmas here our numbers have dropped dramatically. So hopefully our restrictions will be eased soon

Hope all are okay

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 05/01/2021 14:20

That's great news chips! Our numbers are falling here too which is great.

Holothane · 05/01/2021 15:50

I’m still waiting for my Christmas long hot battle but it can turn up when ever. Start saving soon I can’t wait to start.

lachy · 05/01/2021 15:55

oops...I've just found 5 Christmas presents in the cupboard under the stairs (aka the den of doom)

Seems I'm further on than I thought for this Christmas Xmas Grin

This moving house lark is a hoot!

lachy · 05/01/2021 16:00

@CrazyBaubles hope your move goes well. I'll be thinking of you!

@Sideorderofchips I decided last week that I'm going to wrap as I go this year. I found loads of wrapping paper and twirling ribbons in the loft, in fact I might do some wrapping on each Rudolph Day. I found some glitter pens earlier today but I wasn't quick enough to hide them from DD so they haven't made the stash. She's like a homing pigeon. She can smell glitter pens a mile away, I'm sure of it.

WreckTangled · 05/01/2021 16:06

Dc's school place confirmed. I've asked if I can be redeployed again. Possible had a crazy moment and will regret it Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 05/01/2021 18:53

Redeployed where, Wreck? Vaccination team?

Our kids have school spaces too, thankfully.

WreckTangled · 05/01/2021 19:22

No they've hired a load of temp/bank staff to do the Covid vaccination programme. More likely to be responsive services or something but they'd only put me in an admin post.

Good morning folks. Another shift nearly completed. I must say there are so many unwell people springing up. I am starting to feel I am crackers with some of the conversations I am having.

I have my leave date for this job and my start date for my new one and have ordered my uniform so things starting to get closer now.

NoWordForFluffy · 06/01/2021 07:17

Morning!

Time to get up...the kids need to get up too as they're off to school. DS wasn't too impressed, but I think that's because of something he wants to do at his grandparents' house today. I've said he can go after school!

I worked a bit late yesterday, but I'm a bit more on top of stuff now, thank god! It was starting to annoy me.

WreckTangled · 06/01/2021 07:26

Ds is already dressed and dd is just getting out of the shower. I've got gym clothes on and will exercise once the children are packed off to school. Got a meeting at 10.

PussyCatInChristmasStockings · 06/01/2021 09:15

Morning.
DH was awake at bloody 3 again. Arse. I have no more to say at the moment except that I may need to borrow your wheelbarrow again fluffy

NoWordForFluffy · 06/01/2021 09:44

Is he peri / menopausal?! Arse indeed. Why does he wake you?!

PussyCatInChristmasStockings · 06/01/2021 10:26

I can hear him breathing, and sighing, and scratching, and he bounces around like a demented tigger.🤬
Once I'm awake, that's it - or if I go back to bed I wake up feeling sick.

BiddyPop · 06/01/2021 10:28

Morning all, and a belated Happy New Year!!

Crazy good luck with getting all packed up and moved soon, it sounds like you are (mostly - other than hamster) making good progress!

Why good luck with finishing up the old job, I hope the new one goes well and is less stressful for you.

Fluffy it sounds like you are getting well organised for another good growing year.

Stockings I sympathise on DH - I have been either failing to sleep with the snoring starting so fast, or being woken by shouting in nightmares, or by him getting up at stupid O'clock....I can possibly lend you a spade though later in the week?! (Once I've finished using it here!) Grin

Wreck sounds like you are as busy as usual with everything, fair play fitting your exercise in. (DH is dragging me out for a walk every night....so that's me covered I think).

School has an extra 3 days holidays this week, but we are expecting an announcement of online teaching later today. Even though the Minister for Education was adamant on Monday afternoon (4th) (to the other political party education spokespersons) that the schools would physically open next Monday, 11th. (She only got elected as a TD/MP for the first time in February so her inexperience is showing). Our principal had allowed exam years in yesterday to collect books for studying this week, but let the other years go in today in expectation of the closure - with strict admonitions of "This is NOT a socialising opportunity for the girls, please make that clear to your daughters!!!".

I'm back at work (still staring at the spare bedroom wall) since Monday. It's going to be a very busy spring, but I have actually managed to get started in a positive way. We're locked down again too, and as numbers have risen so much and so fast, we've agreed that DH will do any physical shopping we need rather than me. I am still organising the online shops though - but the Supervalu system tried to change my order to send it to DMIL (2.5 hours away!) instead of me, so while I think I have managed to change back to our house, I have no idea if any food will turn up tomorrow or if that order is now moved to next weekend instead. We can manage (other than milk and some fresh veg) without it this week if necessary. Also, it's blinking cold here, but no signs of snow. Better go back to work though, and dream up the costs and benefits of what we are working on at the moment for the impact assessment....

NoWordForFluffy · 06/01/2021 10:50

Shame the ground is frozen solid really. Not much digging can be done.

I think maybe a comfy pillow placed strategically, used as a seat, may assist! 🤔😂

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 06/01/2021 16:47

Christmas decorations are down! Have the usual feeling that our rooms have increased in size Grin
