Before I nod off in a food / booze coma, here is our new thread!

We've had a lovely, chilled, day building Lego. I should probably eat more cheese to really finish the day in style though. 🧀🧀🧀

Crazy you'll be given a rough date heree*

I think I'll still have turkey in 2022.

NoWordForFluffy · 01/01/2021 21:20

My date has gone back to Jan '22! 😱😱

WreckTangled · 01/01/2021 21:24

Mines gone to between April and May Confused

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 01/01/2021 21:33

That is for both doses though so you should have your first anytime from Jan to Feb wreck

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 01/01/2021 21:34

So yours would be October this year fluffy which seems about right. We only need the most vulnerable to have had their first dose for restrictions to loosen hopefully as deaths and hospitalizations should fall then.

WreckTangled · 01/01/2021 21:38

Oh of course thanks for clarifying. That makes sense now since they moved the second dose back.

NoWordForFluffy · 01/01/2021 21:40

I don't think it is, I think that's my first dose!

Countdown to Christmas 2021 (thread 1): Here we go again!
Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 01/01/2021 21:44

I read that as you may have received both doses by Jan 2022 fluffy.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 01/01/2021 21:48

So your first dose would be between Oct and March

NoWordForFluffy · 01/01/2021 21:58

Ah, yes, I see! It's still not great news though, especially if it's March!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 01/01/2021 23:07

I really need to get my vaccine booked ( HCP in patient facing role ) I'll need to find out where .

Decorations are down , some in the attic now , some on the table waiting.

DH is on a Marvel Film binge watch ( at least it isn't Peaky Blinders so I;m ok with that )
DS was very Xmas Hmm at the Christmas cake "You made that last week , you cannot eat it now , you'll get poisoned"

I need to re-home him don't I ?

I need to get out tomorrow to do food shopping .
I think the time to use my NHS Badge and blag my way to the front of the queue might have arrived .

ConstantlyCookingMincePies · 02/01/2021 00:02

Quiet day here- eating mince pies and cheese. Our turkey was used up quickly this year because we had no meals outside the house!
I always buy too much cheese and treat foods and end up freezing mince pies and stollen.
I can still hear fireworks outside!
70 DH will make vegetable lasagne for supper tomorrow. (And use some of our cheese mountain)

ConstantlyCookingMincePies · 02/01/2021 00:03

Oh 357!

WreckTangled · 02/01/2021 05:35

I've been awake since 4, have decided to get up now, hope dh lets me have a nap later.

Nothing planned today, going to be warmer though at 3° Grin

We had a nice afternoon yesterday ds only had two strops.

I'm not holding my breath for the vaccine for me at all. As soon as the vulnerable are vaccinated and the restrictions are lifted I am getting back to normal life. They may decide not to bother vaccinating very low risk people like me I guess.

NoWordForFluffy · 02/01/2021 07:08

I suppose it depends how long it lasts. They might have to start re-vaccination of vulnerable people before I get a dose!

That water level is high Wreck. Have you had much rain? It looks like you had the place to yourself!

WreckTangled · 02/01/2021 07:15

We did the other week, can't remember when now Confused I think the week before Christmas? The river only flows for six months of the year. It was fairly quiet but you have to pre book and we didn't go until 2pm which seems a good time to go!

NoWordForFluffy · 02/01/2021 11:03

Ooh, I went back to sleep and didn't get up until gone-9. DD wanted to stay in bed as it was cosy...I hope we're going to start seeing later mornings more often!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 02/01/2021 17:45

There were Cadbury Creme Eggs and Mini Eggs in Sainsbury today

It is inevitable , I mean it's the 2nd January Xmas Wink , it's only three months til Easter . They're cutting it fine there .

HNY2021 · 03/01/2021 07:58

Hi can I join in please!

I always start early for Christmas but the. It’s always a big rush at the end, maybe I need to start earlier? Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 03/01/2021 08:00

Morning!

We aren't up yet...I've been awake a fair while, however, which is standard.

The trees came down yesterday, much to the kids' dismay! The rooms now feel enormous. Xmas Grin

I'm cross stitching The Snowman and I'm trying to use up spare threads from kits. Some of it is ridiculously tangled and - annoyingly, as I've loads left - Bothy don't tell you the thread colours so I don't know what they are.

I think I'll have most of what I need though, which is good. I've ordered some card bobbins so I can sort out what I do have. That's a wet weather job if ever there was one!

I did order a cross stitch card for my mum's birthday which will take priority when it arrives. There's a space for a name on the bottom and the card is from all 4 of us, so would you put Mum, Granny or [First name] in my shoes?

PussyCatInChristmasStockings · 03/01/2021 08:36

fluffy If you're short of a few colours, let me know and I'll go through my stash. I agree about bothy, not telling you the colour code (or brand) is a pita. Dunno about the card, I'd probably do Name, which do you think she'd prefer?
DH got up first this morning (before 6) and it's thrown me out of sequence and made me a teensy bit cross.😤
Our tree will be taken down later this wk, hopefully when it's a bit warmer to go into the conservatory - it's like the siberian tundra in there.🥶🥶🥶 The alternative is leave it until it gets warmer (April?) 😂

WreckTangled · 03/01/2021 08:36

Morning.

NHY anyone can join Smile

Eugh back to work tomorrow. Dreading it as I am sure schools will close again which means I'll still have nothing to do. It's been so rubbish. I've just been stuck doing admin which I hate.

NoWordForFluffy · 03/01/2021 08:42

Thank you, Stockings! ☺️

I don't know what mum would prefer, she can be hard to predict! Maybe @whydoesitalwayshappentome can assist!

It's perfectly acceptable to leave the tree until at least April, Stockings. Cant have you getting chilblains!

Wreck, that's miserable for you. Must be frustrating.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 03/01/2021 11:23

Morning folks. I would put mum if I was doing it Fluffy. I think she would prefer that.

Not doing much today really. I have bought myself a sock knitting kit but I don't think I am in the mood to start it today. I also need to dye my hair and can't be bothered with that either 😆
