Before I nod off in a food / booze coma, here is our new thread!

We've had a lovely, chilled, day building Lego. I should probably eat more cheese to really finish the day in style though. 🧀🧀🧀

He got it all done ok and is now playing mums and dads but ds is the dog Grin

CrazyBaubles · 05/02/2021 18:11

Does your DS enjoy playing the dog Wreck? My DSis always pretended to be a horse whenever we played games 😂

Still feeling rubbish here, but better than I did yesterday. Still either have no voice or a high pitched squeak though 🙄

Have spent today napping and making Pom poms.

Fluffy hope your fitting went well and the monitor helps get to the bottom of the issue.

NoWordForFluffy · 05/02/2021 20:10

I have the monitor now and it's driving me a bit mad! I can see myself getting woken up every hour!

Obviously, I'm starting to feel a bit better now. My lightheaded moments happen less and aren't as bad when they do. My glands have come up though, so maybe I was just brewing a bug? 🤷‍♀️ Bit dramatic, mind you.

It's 24 hours and I drop it back on Sunday. The 7 day service runs from that building, so it's open 9-1.

WreckTangled · 05/02/2021 20:17

Will be interesting to see the results fluffy.

Crazy ds is a dog regardless of whether dh is playing with him or not. He barks all the time and you have to whistle at him if you want him. It's exhausting Hmm

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 06/02/2021 07:52

Morning all and happy weekend :) I am feeling quite chipper this morning as we had confirmation that DS returns to school on the 22nd Feb. Only one week left of home schooling!

Hope you are feeling ok this morning fluffy and crazy?

DS is currently in a phase of pretending to be a cat, it is driving me bonkers!

NoWordForFluffy · 06/02/2021 07:58

Morning!

I've been woken every bloody hour by the sodding monitor. I got back to sleep OK, until the 6.56 one, then that was that. DH was also woken up. Lazy day today (it is wet, so I doubt we'd have gone anywhere!), other than housework.

I'm feeling OK, actually. Better than I was. Here's hoping I keep improving.

Only one more week, Most, yay! Is it only infants going back?

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 06/02/2021 08:12

Yes just infants fluffy so very glad DS is reception!

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 06/02/2021 08:41

Sorry to hear you had such a rubbish night fluffy :( I have never had the bp monitor but I did have to wear a 7 day holter monitor once. I was big into swimming at the time and completely freaked people out in the changing rooms when I would remove it and it would start beeping loudly Grin

The 22nd Feb will be a big day for me! DS back at school and at 1pm I will become a SAHM!

CrazyBaubles · 06/02/2021 11:26

How are you feeling about becoming a SAHM most?

Lol at your ds Wreck - the most we get at the moment is my niece (she's 2) will often snarl / roar her answers and if you as why she shrugs and says "I'm a 'saur" (she means dinosaur.
I did also have a FaceTime call from dsis not too long ago purely so niece could tell me she was a sausage 😂

Feeling weak today, and woke up feeling shattered so that was good. I'm shaking too so will be yet another quiet day for me. Poor DH, he's been doing quite well looking after me but he's also planning on doing the house stuff we were meant to do together (tip run / painting / building furniture) as well as some work.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 06/02/2021 13:03

Sorry to hear you are still suffering fluffy, definitely rest up.

I really need a break from work for a while and DS back in school. With the situation with my parents, the stress at work and Covid my mental health is so fragile and as my therapist says I need to work on myself before going back to work. Ideally I want a quiet job with very little stress or interaction with people!

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 07/02/2021 07:08

Morning :)

Hope you feel better today crazy and fluffy.

Nothing to report here, later we might go for a walk!

WreckTangled · 07/02/2021 07:24

We've got a wind chill of -10° for the next few days so can't see us walking anywhere. I didn't sleep well then the stupid cat was scratching at the door and then ds was shouting whilst on the PS4 and now I might as well get up Angry

PussyCatInChristmasStockings · 07/02/2021 07:42

It looks like it's going to be cold enough to freeze the balls off a snowman this week, so I've moved the wheelie bin to next to the back door. That is probably as far as I'll go! If I feel motivated enough for exercise, I can chase the cats up and down the stairs 😹😹 and get the step ladder out to polish the light fittings...

Morning!

It's Dusty Bin Day. Xmas Grin

I still had some wonky turns yesterday, but they weren't too bad. Hopefully it'll be better again today as there is improvement.

Our wind chill isn't quite as bad as yours Wreck; it's about -6° today and down to -8° towards the end of the week.

I have to take the BP monitor back today, as well as feed the allotment birds. I was going to go to the post office too, but DH can do that tomorrow!

Today I have to clean the kitchen. I couldn't face it yesterday, though I did do the bathroom. Rock'n'roll.

Countdown to Christmas 2021 (thread 1): Here we go again!
CrazyBaubles · 07/02/2021 10:37

Morning.
I'm not sure if the weather here - at the moment it's cold but sunny.

Glad you're on the mend Fluffy and I hope the monitor gives you some answers.

I still feel a bit 'off' - coughing slightly and my temp is all over the place but I'm so much better than I was yesterday so I'm assuming I'm on the mend.

DH is going to do a long walk with the dog in a min so I'm going to put a wash on, have a shower and maybe do a few small bits around the house so I can cross stitch guilt free with the rugby later. I'm still not even halfway through the Christmas one I've been working on Blush

NoWordForFluffy · 07/02/2021 10:56

I've barely stitched recently, Crazy, what with the eye issues and then being ill. I need to crack on really.

I'm glad you're also improving. It's horrible being unwell.

I can confirm that it's freezing cold today. I've just dropped the monitor off and now I'm on the way to the allotment. Brrr!

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 07/02/2021 11:15

Glad you are feeling better crazy :)

We tried to go for a walk but the wind chill is horrible so DS and I turned back and I am now making hot chocolates. DH is still out.

I am doing well with my subscription box cross stitch :)

MarshmallowManiac · 07/02/2021 20:54

Evening everyone. Everything is covered in snow here, it has been snowing since the middle of Saturday night and doesn't look like it is going to stop at any time soon. Do love it though when I don't have to travel

TheWoollybacksWife · 07/02/2021 20:59

We've had a dusting of snowy dandruff but that's it so fat. Bloody cold though.

TheWoollybacksWife · 07/02/2021 20:59

So far. Stupid phone

NoWordForFluffy · 07/02/2021 21:03

We had about 10 flakes of snow! Definitely bastard cold though.

I got two trays of peas sown when I got back from the allotment and they're in my greenhouse now. My over-wintering broad beans are doing well and can go in the ground when it's dried out a bit.

January was apparently the coldest January i a decade. I can see February going the same way at this rate! 🥶🥶

TheWoollybacksWife · 07/02/2021 21:14

DH has ordered some seed potatoes from the garden centre - they are closed to customers but are doing free delivery. Nowhere near your allotment levels but hopefully we'll have spuds and strawberries this summer

NoWordForFluffy · 07/02/2021 21:23

I got some online the other week, but have ordered more from the allotment society today as well. I got the ones which are Jersey Royals if grown on Jersey (International Kidney). I will definitely have plenty of potatoes!

I need to move my strawberry plants as they were crowded and swamped with weeds. The bed needs a good going over. When it dries out. Sigh.

TheWoollybacksWife · 07/02/2021 21:52

I think he's ordered a three pack deal. Three different types of seed potatoes with potato grow bags. Javelin and Maris Piper were included I think.

NoWordForFluffy · 08/02/2021 08:38

320

Morning!

I've seen those 3 pack ones online, Woolly. Does it come with fertiliser too? I forgot to fertilise mine last year, so need to try to remember this time!

I have 6 types of potato, 4 unusual ones and then the IKs and Maris Piper too. We don't even eat that many! 🤣🤣 DS loves wedges from homegrown spuds though.

I just cancelled the hospital eye appointment today. My eye looked horrific when I fainted, due to a reaction to the eye drops, but they prescribed an ointment for me which has cleared it up just fine. So I don't fancy going into the hospital right now for no reason. Plus I'm squeamish about eyes!

We've just had a little flurry of snow! It won't last, however. The sun is even coming out now too. The cold weather is bringing dry / sunny conditions. My allotment has hope! 🤣
