Before I nod off in a food / booze coma, here is our new thread!

We've had a lovely, chilled, day building Lego. I should probably eat more cheese to really finish the day in style though. 🧀🧀🧀

Wow. I'm jealous of your activity, Stockings. I can only dream of such events (an A&E visit isn't quite the same, ha ha!). My FiL did say it was a dramatic way for me to get out of the house to see other adults though. 🤣🤣

MarshmallowManiac · 03/02/2021 12:41

Afternoon everyone. Rainy earlier but now sunny and bright, trying to get work done early as want to go for a walk later. Corn beef pasta this evening so the plan is to make it after lunch. Looking for a fold away table for the kitchen, but not much luck so far. Sad

Good luck with the unicorn search lachy

That happened to me outside the house a couple of weeks back Stockings no warning either.

PussyCatInChristmasStockings · 03/02/2021 13:17

fluffy I did think along the same lines as your FiL... that's the first conversation I've had with a human other than DH (and grunting at the checkout staff when paying for shopping...) 🤔
Marshmallow it's the lack of warning...why have a little battery light on the dash if it doesn't flash like buggery when your battery is dying?!?!?
I'm not sure a 4 mile round trip to Tesco (less to Morrisons and double to Sains) once a wk are enough, and we alternate cars too. I'm fine with lockdown, but I'm a bit pissed off that it's killing my car. 😡

MarshmallowManiac · 03/02/2021 14:01

Yes it is the lack of warning Stockings would like to know a few months in advance so I could pay the bill easier too. Grin

MarshmallowManiac · 03/02/2021 14:02

Think Lockdown and not using the car is what definitely killed mine!

Morning!

I'm tired today...which means I'm a bit worried about getting vertical as I was tired on Monday when I went wonky!

We had biblical rain last night though it's meant to be dry today.

Stockings, you need to start the car and sit in it for a while each week. Gets you out of the house! 🙄😂

PussyCatInChristmasStockings · 04/02/2021 09:52

fluffy we've been doing that, and taking the car for a little trip out - obvs, just not far enough when the lights and heater are sucking all the power from the battery. Hmm
At least I've done it properly and I have a man on my drive now, swapping my battery. Halo
I don't fancy being jumped in Tesco car park again, even though their staff were lovely and offered me a coffee and a full day of unrestricted parking Blush😹
I hope you managed to get upright without any drama. 🤞🏻
Did they check your blood sugar?

PussyCatInChristmasStockings · 04/02/2021 10:02

Well, all I can say is that Halfords are bloody quick - it cost £15 extra for them to come to me and it was well worth it! Took him 5 mins
DH taken the car for a run, oh, and the radio didn't lose it's code like my dads old banger which then cost a trip to the dealer and £20 to key in
🙄

NoWordForFluffy · 04/02/2021 10:47

Yes, my blood sugars were normal. Everything was spot on in the blood tests. 🤷‍♀️

I'm having a 24 hour BP monitor fitted tomorrow, so maybe that'll throw something into the mix. I've said to DH that I almost need to sleep badly when it's on, as it seems to trigger me feeling wonky. Like today!

I'm glad your car is sorted now. Even though your wallet is now lighter!

PussyCatInChristmasStockings · 04/02/2021 11:20

fluffy is there a food that will make him snore like a drain and keep you awake? i.e. his tea/supper this evening Grin
We were in bed just after 9 no, not that, not with the tablets he's on and awake every hour/half hour from 1 until I gave in and got up and made a Brew. I don't have bags under my eyes anymore - just suitcases...

NoWordForFluffy · 04/02/2021 11:52

Lots of alcohol and sleeping on his back should sort that! 😂😂

I think most people look tired at the moment though. Clearly we're all suffering!

MarshmallowManiac · 04/02/2021 12:22

Afternoon everyone. Nice and dry here but still a bit chilly.

When my iron is low I feel I just have to sleep too Fluffy but maybe the BP tests will help. Hope you start to feel better soon.

NoWordForFluffy · 04/02/2021 12:53

I have brilliant iron levels. Even post-c sections my levels were above the minimum desirable level!

I'm not tired though (other than from poor sleeping); I feel sick, lightheaded and dizzy. It's hideous. Like being on a choppy boat or in the back of a car on a really windy road. Or really bad morning sickness when you get waves of nausea.

MarshmallowManiac · 04/02/2021 15:30

That sounds horrendous, I did feel like that with low BP though, fingers crossed it gets sorted soon.

NoWordForFluffy · 04/02/2021 17:44

The GP said my symptoms were usual for low BP. Shame that mine is raised! 🙄 Couldn't make it up really. Hopefully the BP monitor will give answers.

CrazyBaubles · 04/02/2021 18:52

Checking back in. I'm ill 🤒 Had a negative Covid test result today but high temp, shivers, headaches, tight chest, cough and no voice whatsoever. I've also been bone tired and have spent the last 4 days in bed. Fingers crossed I'm coming to the end of it now - I'm rubbish at being ill. All I've managed to do is add things to random Pinterest boards.

Fluffy my high BP was diagnosed when I had lots of migraines, dizziness, vision issues and nosebleeds (delightful).
I hope they figure out what's wrong soon 💐

PussyCatInChristmasStockings · 04/02/2021 19:11

Crazy Flowers glad your test was negative, it sounds like you have flu. I hope DDog has kept you company.

NoWordForFluffy · 04/02/2021 19:17

Oh no, Crazy! I hope you're better soon.

Isn't it mad how we get ill when we're barely seeing anyone?!

WreckTangled · 04/02/2021 19:47

Oh no crazy poor you. My sister had two negative swabs before eventually testing positive. She felt awful so kept testing.

CrazyBaubles · 04/02/2021 20:48

Oh wreck don't say that. I'm hoping I'm on the mend because this has felt awful. I haven't heard of Covid causing a complete loss of voice so I'm hoping this is something different.
How is your sister doing?

puss Ddog hasn't left me alone, he's like my snuggly shadow. He's been napping with me and everything.

Fluffy I don't understand how I could get ill - I haven't been anywhere or seen anyone except my dad (for about 5 mins when he measured up something in my kitchen) and the person who did our wall paper but I stayed in a different room to him with doors closed between us and windows etc open. And DH is absolutely fine.

I'm hoping it's a random virus or normal flu (although I've had the flu jab) because it's really knocked me for six. I have been sleeping for most of the day and just feel worn out although I forced myself to shower today.

WreckTangled · 04/02/2021 21:36

Sorry crazy I'm sure you're fine but I just worry people might still have it despite testing negative, I read something about the new variant getting more false negatives. I've not heard about people losing their voices though, just sore throats. My sister is fine thanks, she did feel very unwell though with headache and awful gastro symptoms. I've also had a friend test positive. Her dc are are school and husband at work but they all tested negative and only she got it despite her being home the whole time she's no idea where she got it from. I wouldn't be too concerned though the advice will be the same regardless; plenty of rest, fluids and paracetamol.

NoWordForFluffy · 05/02/2021 07:58

Morning!

I slept better today, so I'm more optimistic about the getting vertical process. Which will commence shortly!

DH managed to get the kids a dentist appointment yesterday after spaces came up because they cancelled people in the plague postcode and DD had her 'shark teeth' looked at (she's yet to lose any baby teeth, but her two replacement teeth are growing behind the bottom two). Apparently all is well and the front two are a bit loose. She's been told to get wobbling them! 😂

We need to find some bloody coins if she's going to lose teeth. Challenging!

Wreck, sounds like an asymptomatic child who'd recovered before being tested in your sister's case.

WreckTangled · 05/02/2021 08:17

No that was my friend. My sister got it from work. They didn't believe in masks or social distancing apparently... I'm betting on the children too, the husband works locally in a big company so likely would have heard of more linked cases if it had been him.

Dh is home today so he is home schooling. I'm lying on the sofa in my dressing gown Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 05/02/2021 08:34

Oh, yeah, misread it! And I agree re the DH. Definitely blame the kids! 😂

Good call on the lying down, I reckon.

I have to start work soon. But I have my monitor being fitted at 12.30, so that breaks the day up!

PussyCatInChristmasStockings · 05/02/2021 11:22

Wreck how's DH managing? He's had a couple of hours...has he shouted or given up yet Grin
fluffy good luck with the monitoring - is it just 24hrs...(assuming the surgery are shut tomorrow) it gives you a bit of a surprise/shock the first couple of times it goes off, but you'll get used to it - DH thinks it's less frequent overnight from what he remembers as it was a while ago
