Before I nod off in a food / booze coma, here is our new thread!

We've had a lovely, chilled, day building Lego. I should probably eat more cheese to really finish the day in style though. 🧀🧀🧀

I donate blood solely for the orange Club. Fact.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 15/01/2021 18:24

I am jealous of the Malteser reindeer Wreck.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 15/01/2021 18:48

What if they have no Orange Club though Fluffy ? Do you grab your pint of blood back or do you do a recce of the snack trolley before they put the cuff on?
(Asking for DS , obvs Xmas Wink )

NoWordForFluffy · 15/01/2021 19:04

I sulk, 70! And choose a boring biscuit.

My Scottish donation was best: Tunnock's tea cake afterwards! 😋

MarshmallowManiac · 15/01/2021 19:41

Feeling really jealous about the maltese reindeer Wreck

Love orange club Fluffy Grin

WreckTangled · 15/01/2021 20:25

Dh has an orange club too fluffy, or a giant biscoff. I'm not allowed to give blood.

MarshmallowManiac · 15/01/2021 20:27

I'm not allowed to give blood either Sad

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 15/01/2021 21:11

I'll need to check if I can donate , I had a blood transfusion so not sure .
That's why I make* my son Take One For The Team !

  • by make , I mean encourage and whine at relentlessly till he gives in. Male blood is suitable for neonates so I tell him he might play a tiny part to save the life of a tiny baby .
NoWordForFluffy · 15/01/2021 21:19

You can't, 70. Transfusion = no, I'm afraid.

I've not seen a giant Biscoff, Wreck. I'll look next time if I can ever get another appointment.

slithytoveisascientist · 15/01/2021 22:03

another one who is in it for the orange club

NoWordForFluffy · 15/01/2021 22:11

It's the King of Biscuits!

Morning!

It rained all night but is apparently going to be dry all day now (which is an improved forecast from yesterday which had it set to rain until about 10am). Time to put the washing on!

The kids are still in bed. Probably not for long!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 16/01/2021 08:35

We have snow but it's very light and melting as the ground is waterlogged .
It looks pretty enough but it would've been nicer 3 weeks and a day ago Xmas Hmm

CrazyBaubles · 16/01/2021 09:37

Morning. No snow here just lots of rain overnight.
I feel very productive this morning - I've done a load of laundry and been into every room and taken all pictures off the walls ready for packing (and doing a christmas decoration that I'd missed in the kitchen Xmas Blush)

Aiming to finish the packing this weekend, plus paint a piece of furniture we've now decided to keep and will probably put one coat over the bathroom too as I painted it over a year ago and it's a bit patchy.

NoWordForFluffy · 16/01/2021 13:12

It's actually sunny here now! It's not too bad out (I went shopping). I should've taken my trolley though, as I had to summon DH to collect me. It turns out that getting loads of stuff on his bonus Nectar points list = heavy shopping!

My mum's birthday stuff is now posted (together with some jam to make the postage charge worthwhile!).

Now I'm going to shower, clean the kitchen and replace DD's mouse's ear (I regularly replace bits of Mouse!).

NoWordForFluffy · 16/01/2021 20:40

Kitchen (and all the other bits I do with he kitchen) cleaned, school uniform ironed, Mouse's ear fixed, and wine on the go. Whoop!

Productive day. 😁

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 16/01/2021 22:16

I felt so ill after my covid vaccine jab yesterday I have spent alot of the day in bed. I seem to be coming back to life again now though.

I am having a roast dinner delivered from a local pub as I am working 14.00 to 20.00 tomorrow, makes life far easier.

Snap, I had mine yesterday too, and am tired, headachy with aching limbs. no appetite, heartburn and upset stomach - feeling a bit better now though, hope you are too
NoWordForFluffy · 17/01/2021 07:42

Morning!

It seems like the vaccine makes loads of people feel ropey. My friend (midwife) felt so bad she self-administered a test, just in case she'd coincidentally actually got Covid (again!).

I hope it confers long term immunity after all that!

I'm forcing myself to go to the allotment today. Hopefully some of the water will have gone and I won't be paddling. I need my poor garlic to not be swimming still!

I'll probably stick to weeding the wildflower / bulb / tree part at the back of the plot as I think the growing area will be too wet to do anything with, as I'll damage the soil. I've got gravel to put down too, so that'll keep me busy!

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 17/01/2021 11:17

I feel alot better today thankfully. I felt sick and lightheaded yesterday and ached all over almost straight away after the jab.

Alot of my colleagues felt rough afterwards as well so I wasn't the only one.

MarshmallowManiac · 17/01/2021 12:14

Morning everyone. Lovely and sunny here, hoping to go for a walk later. Just done a 2 mile workout nearly killed me Grin

Glad you are feeling a lot better this morning Why Flowers

Hope you are also feeling better soon Jen Flowers

Good luck at the allotment Fluffy

PussyCatInChristmasStockings · 17/01/2021 13:47

I've a photo to load later...of a pheasant...sitting on the fence at the bottom of the garden. He'd been strutting a fair bit before I could grab the camera. Never seen one in the garden before, Tilly was very interested in him 😹
Baked an Apricot sultana and cherry loaf.
DH asleep on the sofa
bliss
😉😂

PussyCatInChristmasStockings · 17/01/2021 14:25

Here is Percy, our Pheasant. 😹
He was trying to hide behind a tree.
He flew off with a couple of others just before dusk. No idea where they came from, there are some arable fields off the main road but they're not really "wild" are they? I normally only see then near my late Aunts house which is properly rural.

Countdown to Christmas 2021 (thread 1): Here we go again!
NoWordForFluffy · 17/01/2021 14:51

He's lovely, Stockings!

They're pests though, as they eat all sorts of stuff you don't want them to (they visit the allotments!).

WreckTangled · 17/01/2021 14:56

We've got lots of different pheasants round here including white ones and black ones. My dad had a golden one once but lost it. They're pretty to look at but are pretty stupid 😅
