Before I nod off in a food / booze coma, here is our new thread!

We've had a lovely, chilled, day building Lego. I should probably eat more cheese to really finish the day in style though. 🧀🧀🧀

Aren't they the company that make Viagra?

WreckTangled · 13/01/2021 16:06

Yes they are.

So far my shoulder hurts when I breathe in and I can't stop yawning. Could just be in my head though (not the shoulder pain, that's real!).

MarshmallowManiac · 13/01/2021 16:11

Just found that I still have more Christmas chocolate left in my cupboard, checked dates and they're still fine for Easter. Smile

Definitely on the ball Flackattack

PussyCatInChristmasStockings · 13/01/2021 16:12

You haven't twisted or lifted something awkwardly this morning, or sat in an odd position to have the injection?
Lack of sleep?
Coincidence?
At least you've not stiffened up Shock
😂😂😂

WreckTangled · 13/01/2021 16:15

Nope. The pain is definitely from the injection, it was a really long one I counted to 8 when they were doing it! I'll have an early night regardless of what's causing m my sleepiness 😴

NoWordForFluffy · 13/01/2021 17:38

You got a really sore arm after the flu / pneumonia jabs too, didn't you?

Stockings, loving your work! 🤣😂🤣😂

WreckTangled · 13/01/2021 18:45

I did fluffy. Flu one hurt the same night and pneumonia one the next day. It doesn't bother me. It is what it is I'm just so grateful to have had it. I definitely feel more tired than my usually tired though Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 13/01/2021 21:34

Had my Covid Vaccine today . NHS Patient facing so was in the first wave .
I am relieved , it'll make things safer for all ( I hope)
No pain at the moment hopefully I'll escape the achey joints that I got with the Flu Jab .

Drove past at house at just after 7am, still had flashing lights up round the windows and roof eaves outside . Bet the neighbours were thrilled Xmas Grin

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 13/01/2021 23:23

I gave most of my food to a homeless girl who came into the Crisis Cafe tonight, which was all well and good when I wasn't hungry, but was not as good at 22.30 🤣

That was very noble stupid of you, Why. But her need was greater than yours. Can you summon a takeaway?!

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 14/01/2021 00:26

It felt pretty good to start with and she was so lovely. Sometimes the heart strings snap when you talk to someone and she was one of those. I had some toast when I got home.

NoWordForFluffy · 14/01/2021 08:48

Send a boat! 🚣🏿‍♀️ It's been tipping down all night and is set to last most of the day too. It's very soggy out there!

PussyCatInChristmasStockings · 14/01/2021 09:04

☂🤿🦆 Just been out for some bread, there's mahoosive puddles everywhere.
And a distinct lack of daylight.

BiddyPop · 14/01/2021 09:04

Morning all,
Working from my car this morning (unexpected chance of cleaners coming so we grabbed it - house really needs it! Even though we had been trying to keep on top). Dh is doing the same so dd can still do school in her room (attic, door closed).

Stockings, you crack me up 🤣

Most that was very nice of you, sometimes a good slice of toast when needed can taste divine!

Wreck, I hope you become unwrecked soon again, it will be worth it.

And 70s too, I hope you are doing ok

Fluffy, give me an hour to get to the Den and drag one out (they're in winter storage), but I can row across with emergency supplies and/or for recovery purposes. How many spare life jackets should I bring? 🚣‍♀️

NoWordForFluffy · 14/01/2021 09:46

4 please, Biddy!

You're brave, rowing across the Irish Sea. 🤢🤮😂

MarshmallowManiac · 14/01/2021 11:42

Morning everyone. Earth to Noah, earth to Noah, send one of your biggest boats please!! It hasn't stopped raining all night and is still going.

That was really kind Why their need is greater than ours. My heart strings always twang too when I see someone with nothing. Smile

Please Biddy as quick as you can Grin Grin please bring chocolate. Grin

BiddyPop · 14/01/2021 13:17

I grew up rowing in Cork Harbour and on the Atlantic seaboard, Irish Sea is so calm in comparison!! On my way, with proper choc!!

Well, once I've dealt with a stupid thing at work - why can't Ministers just do what they're told?! 😡

MarshmallowManiac · 14/01/2021 14:21

Thank u Biddy really need it. Grin Remember going on the Irish sea many times when it was super shaky, but one particular time we were in the cinema on the ship and someone was sick behind me and it splashed on my feet. YUK.

CrazyBaubles · 14/01/2021 14:57

Just popping in quickly as work has gone a bit mad today and I need to finish early (dr appointment).

It's my dads birthday today - a big one - so I'm going to see him and give him his present later. Bit gutted as the original plan was to take him away for a weekend but obviously can't promise him that so I've got him a little huge bottle of his favourite booze to tide him over.

There's been a bit of a kick off in DHs family about the vaccine - one person who is technically 'front line' but is actually a few rungs up the ladder so doesn't interact with the public is getting it next week - this has led to a pointless argument 'heated debate' about the rights and wrongs of how it's being prioritised 🙄

WreckTangled · 14/01/2021 15:14

Crazy we're doing all admin at work now too as they basically keep the service running. It would take more time to decide who should and shouldn't be getting it to start with (in healthcare) than it does just to get everyone done I think.

Home now, so pleased. If I made any mistakes today they'll have to be sorted by someone else Grin it's so dark and miserable.

CrazyBaubles · 14/01/2021 15:30

Wreck I've stayed out of the row completely. My only thoughts are that teachers should be on the list but I don't ever discuss anything slightly political with ILs as they love a debate but their views are quite different to mine and I'm never going to change their minds

I'm done with work for the day now

WreckTangled · 14/01/2021 15:44

I completely agree re teachers. You're like me when my aunt talks about how great boris is HmmConfused

CrazyBaubles · 14/01/2021 21:24

Wreck ILs don't like^^ Boris but they are insistent he is just a man doing his best in a job - and no amount of proof to the contrary (brexit negotiations, Covid, handing jobs to friends that they aren't qualified for etc) they just don't respond. I say nothing.

I've had a nice evening seeing my dad for his birthday. It's bloody freezing here though so so I'm not tucked up under a blanket on the sofa with thick socks and a hot water bottle.

Hope everyone is ok!

NoWordForFluffy · 15/01/2021 07:07

Morning!

2° max today (the 'feels like' doesn't get above freezing). 🥶🥶🥶 Hopefully some of the water will leave my flooded allotment today. It's even worse than it was last year, judging by the photo I was sent. Sigh.

Mum and I agreed not to discuss politics in the run up to the GE as she thought BoZo was brilliant. She's emailed her MP calling for him to go now though! She'd still vote Tory come what may, however!

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 15/01/2021 09:21

Morning. I have my covid jab this afternoon.

My overriding thought is hoorah for rest days because this week has literally been crackers.
