Before I nod off in a food / booze coma, here is our new thread!

We've had a lovely, chilled, day building Lego. I should probably eat more cheese to really finish the day in style though. 🧀🧀🧀

Morning everyone. Very drizzly here, has been raining all night. Have been looking at a Christmas jumper website and marked a few for next year Grin I am in awe of your Cross stitches ladies, unfortunately don't think my eyes could take it. Sad Pie and mash tonight, have peeled veg so feeling productive. Smile Also really pleased lost 6 pounds this week!

Love your Cross stitch Crazy

Biddy fair play on only getting a growl, yesterday out of my DS's cave there was growls, snarls and howls galore. Today he seems calmer, sure it's due to LD as he misses his friends and school.

Nothing like an early morning moan Fluffy sets you up for the day Grin

You're obviously making a great impression Wreck

CrazyBaubles · 12/01/2021 13:25

Join me in my super exciting lifestyle puss, you know you want to - I paired socks during a meeting today 😂

Be careful what job you give your DH, you know how often he kills plants etc. Needs to be something fool-proof. Pairing socks? Cleaning skirting boards / door frames / light switches?

Wreck fair enough. Suppose it's a change for now which can be nice. Have you worked out the hours / childcare issues with your DH?

CrazyBaubles · 12/01/2021 13:31

Thanks Fluffy I'll take a look. I'm a bit picky with patterns - there are always loads I don't like which makes me wary of a subscription but if I can get an issue or 2 then cancel if I feel like it I may do that.
That reminds me I need to cancel Audible. I have 3 credits built up but I'm not using it.

Pie sounds nice marshmallow. My exciting life doesn't include meal planning, that's DHs job so tea will be a surprise!

PussyCatInChristmasStockings · 12/01/2021 13:38

Crazy DH only wears black socks and I only wear navy blue mens trainer socks inside out because the seam irritates my toes no pairing needed Xmas Grin He finally got around to turning the cats scratchy posts upside down after half an hour looking for the allen keys that were in a jar on a shelf in the garage in plain sight so they can trash them all over again 😻 it's also bin day, so he's pacing up and down checking to see if the bin men have been...

MarshmallowManiac · 12/01/2021 14:20

DH does cook meals probably twice a week Crazy he has a set repertoire that he follows each month. I would love to have a surprise every evening though. Smile Hate pairing socks though, try to get DC to do it when I can but doesn't always work. Sad

WreckTangled · 12/01/2021 15:12

Crazy they're happy for me to do what I like at the moment which is good so dh hasn't had to adjust his hours. He was going to if needed though.

CrazyBaubles · 12/01/2021 16:00

puss your DH is exactly as I'd imagine my dad to be if he ever lets himself retire.
Also, I feel a bit twitchy at the idea of you wearing your socks inside out 😬
All mine are colourful and random - today's are purple and striped.

Marshmallow DH is a great cook but stopped bothering for a while but after WW3 about distribution of tasks he's taken on 100% of food planning and shopping and cooks half the time.

That's good Wreck. The way the thread backed you up I was a bit worried for your DHs safety 😂

Today was a school day for DH which is good because he was getting insufferable cabin fever. I think they get kicked out of the building at 4 though so he'll be home soon.

MarshmallowManiac · 12/01/2021 17:01

That's great Crazy my DH does help around the house hoovering, changing beds etc as my shoulders are not the best. Also some cleaning but I prefer to do the cleaning really. Grin Grin He cooks on some days, but I feel a bit sorry as he's working all day from home and his company never give him a minute.

Jenasaurus · 12/01/2021 17:04

Ive signed up to look fantastic subscription, the boxes are lovely, I am going to wrap them up and make a sort of advent calendar with the boxes I get for my 25 year old daughter, she loves make up and these seem good value. I may also sign up to Birch Box and/or glossy Box to make it up to 24 boxes :)

NoWordForFluffy · 12/01/2021 17:18

Bloody hell. Our cases are now 1,008/100k. Bonkers!

I prefer to clean too, Marshmallow. DH can vacuum but I prefer to do the rest as he takes twice as long to do half the job!

Crazy, I was surprised how many of the patterns I liked actually!

MarshmallowManiac · 12/01/2021 17:28

Haha definitely Fluffy Grin

CrazyBaubles · 12/01/2021 17:33

Our numbers are 519, down from 538 three days ago Fluffy

I would prefer to hire a cleaner but as DH doesn't want to spend the money I think it's only fair he does 50% of the cleaning / cooking.
I'm a bit stubborn about it tbh because I think once you're in a pattern of doing more it's hard to shift and he's just as capable as I am even if he pretends not to be

I was very productive today so my reward is a lovely hot bath with bubbles and face mask - I'm hoping it helps because my skin is awful and my eczema is playing up 🙄

Marshmallow I am apparently also having pie - it's the leftover Turkey pie he made after Christmas (from the freezer). It's so tasty 😋

WreckTangled · 12/01/2021 18:00

Our cases are back below 500/100k. For now. The care homes are really suffering and the city (where I am working and all these care homes are) haven't vaccinated anyone yet. The hospital is doing staff but that's it.

MarshmallowManiac · 12/01/2021 18:55

Sounds yum Crazy, our cases are just over 600 up from last week. Sad

TheWoollybacksWife · 12/01/2021 19:39

We are still below the national average but not by much. The next town over is having a bad outbreak.

MIL has had her vaccination letter but there is nothing close to where she lives - we think she'll be better waiting until she's contacted by her GP.

One house round the corner has still got their tree and lights up. It's a real boost when I pass it on my walk.

I'm knitting for a new family baby due next month. Getting a fair bit done during the day as I'm trying to stay off the WiFi - DH and DD1 are working from home, DD2 is doing her placement via zoom calls and DS is doing online school.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 12/01/2021 20:04

Woolly our cases were 501 last week and the next town are well over double that and still rising. There is an action plan going to come into play for there if levels don't flatten shortly my boss was saying yesterday.

TheWoollybacksWife · 12/01/2021 20:15

Good to hear there's an action plan why. I've got many friends over there and I'm worried about them.

Morning!

I need to get up! But it's cosy in bed. 😂

Yesterday turned out to be really busy with work. I only had a short task list and didn't get through it. Ah well, today's a new day!

Jenasaurus · 13/01/2021 10:01

My town has gone up to 1144/100k we were 425/100k before Christmas. We have also gone from position 119th to the 17th worst town in the UK. Its so scary, we were Tier 2 and then straight to Tier 4 on Boxing day. My DS both live in a neighbouring town which was originally higher in numbers and kept saying they didnt understand why my town wasnt tier 4 as could see the numbers rising rapidly, shame the government didnt act sooner (preferably before christmas mixing)

Jenasaurus · 13/01/2021 10:02

www.covidmessenger.com/

I get the numbers from this link. I think its a couple of days behind though

WreckTangled · 13/01/2021 12:24

Had my vaccine!

MarshmallowManiac · 13/01/2021 12:49

Morning everyone, rainy here, bit of a miserable day all told.

Great news Wreck

NoWordForFluffy · 13/01/2021 13:10
