Before I nod off in a food / booze coma, here is our new thread!

We've had a lovely, chilled, day building Lego. I should probably eat more cheese to really finish the day in style though. 🧀🧀🧀

Morning all.
Firefly surely appropriate dress is a tie with his PJs 🤔
Crazy well done on clearing the shed. NDN is a teacher and is in every day, you just seem to be unlucky.😉
Going shopping in a few minutes, while it's still nice and quiet. I was the one awake at 3 today back to read the rest of the fred in a bit...

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 11/01/2021 08:44

Hi everyone. I am at work again just for a change (I swear I only work and occasionally sleep).

I feel like buying something but I don't really need anything. Could be interesting to see what happens over the course of the day.

BiddyPop · 11/01/2021 10:00

DD has managed to get herself up and online for school - I got a growl when I went to rouse her (20 minutes after we woke her), and another when she appeared in a non-school hoodie and I reminded her about uniform....apparently she just wasn't wearing it yet....

It has warmed up here over the weekend, the snow has melted and it wasn't as bitter on our walk yesterday. But it will be a busy week of work and Scouts paperwork and ASD online stuff....luckily DH managed to get wine in M&S when he was there on Saturday (as we'd used up all the Christmas stock), even if not a lot else.

NoWordForFluffy · 11/01/2021 10:08

Morning!

At least you returned the favour in waking your DH, Stockings!

It's a bit warmer here (as in not freezing). Not a mild winter, however! It's raining now, but we'd put our towels out overnight and they were almost dry when I got them in first thing. I obsess over the forecast and we coordinate our washing around outside-drying likeliness!

PussyCatInChristmasStockings · 11/01/2021 10:13

Sainsburys was empty this morning. It's worth getting up early just for that!
why new thermal mug for work? Brew
biddy well done to your DD for getting up and only growling. I doubt, as a teen, I would have been much different - school was also under 5mins away so I could roll out of bed at 8.45 and not be late 😎😂

PussyCatInChristmasStockings · 11/01/2021 10:14

fluffy he'll end up having a nap later, probably during Hancocks half hour briefing at 5 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

PussyCatInChristmasStockings · 11/01/2021 10:18

Firefly meant to say, NDN is a teacher at local primary - his attire today was trainers, black tracksuit, Liverpool replica shirt and his works ID/lanyard. He looks like a reject from the subs bench Football

CrazyBaubles · 11/01/2021 10:26

Morning.

puss I feel a bit unlucky having DH home 😂 I shouldn't complain really - he's already brought me a cuppa and will be handy to have around until we move.

why I felt like that yesterday. I ended up on Love Crafts and 3 cross stitches fell into my basket Blush

Oh dear biddy. Back away from the moody teen / tween!
I was surprisingly good in the mornings as a teen - used to get up early, make my parents a cuppa and take them up, get myself ready and wake my dsis.
Somewhere in my mid-20s I lost that and now I'm a bit miserable for the first hour I'm awake.

Busy work day today and I have the migraine hangover so I'm tired already.

PussyCatInChristmasStockings · 11/01/2021 10:46

Crazy Don't mention cross stitch...I need more arms and better eyes as I have a list of Heritage patterns (they old ones, so don't do the kits for them) that I need 😹

Thinking back 3 decades, when I started work at 18, I always took my parents a Brew before I left for work - not sure it was always appreciated, especially in winter. Xmas Hmm Xmas Grin

Sorry Dad 🤦🏻‍♀️

PussyCatInChristmasStockings · 11/01/2021 10:47

they're not they Xmas Blush

NerosFiddle · 11/01/2021 11:17

Puss that's my attire today minus the lanyard 😂

CrazyBaubles · 11/01/2021 11:43

Puss I wanted a nice 'new home' cross stitch but Love Crafts had free postage over £25 so I bought the Croeso one and the flowers to make for my friend - then a little Christmas one to push me over the £25 limit.

I really want the Bothy New England ones but they're out of stock on love crafts and Bothy have a sale starting soon.
Exactly where I'm going to find the time I don't know because I'm slow and I haven't even done half the Christmas one I started months ago!

Look at the New England ones puss - I luffs them and want all 4 😊

ConstantlyCooking · 11/01/2021 11:52

Firefly I have been on Google Meets in a smart jumper and jogging trousers this morning.
We are sending all worksheets on one document the day at least before to make printing easier and then have copies in a folder on the drive.
I wanted to treat myself in the sales but couldn't see much.
However, inspired by someone on this thread, I bought wicks from Hobbycraft and spent a satisfying hour melting the remnants of my Christmas candles and created two new ones! Luckily they are all the same scent!

NoWordForFluffy · 11/01/2021 12:01

Crazy, I love those cross stitch. I now have a billion projects on the go, however, which is all Stockings' fault due to a subscription to a cross stitch magazine with SO MANY patterns I need to do!

My priority is mum's birthday card, however, which is back stitch-tastic.

PussyCatInChristmasStockings · 11/01/2021 12:43

Nero 😂😂 my Chelsea Fan DH doesn't approve.

Crazy They're nice, I'd not seen them. I've seen some similar other ones, let me dig out the links....

and these

Sorry. Xmas Blush
They may be on my "to buy" list.

Fluffy don't blame me!! I'm pretty sure I've warned you about my 4 (maybe 5) lever arch files, full of "I'll do that one day" patterns...🤦🏻‍♀️

PussyCatInChristmasStockings · 11/01/2021 12:52

And these...

This one I absolutely love.

CrazyBaubles · 11/01/2021 20:26

Constantly I did the same with my candles a while ago - although I saved the Christmas ones until about 3 weeks before christmas, underestimating how long they last so I've packed the big one with the decs ready for next Christmas!

Im a bit scared to sign up to a subscription Fluffy - I'm so slow I think I'd feel pressured to keep up.
What one have you signed up to and how much is it if you don't mind me asking?

puss you are a bad influence, I love some of the ones you posted so they're added to my wish list.
Also, I finished The West Wing today. Brilliant want to end it but 😭 at there being no more.

Work was insane today. Finally done, eaten, kitchen is cleaned and back to working on the Christmas cross stitch.

NoWordForFluffy · 11/01/2021 20:32

I bought one back issue for £4.99, then got 2 more issues for 99p. I'm not getting any more, unless there's a good offer! The back issue was the Christmas one which has loads of little projects I can do over time. I think you'd like it!

Morning!

It's food delivery day. Wooooo! Though I've complained to Sainsbury's about a crappy substitution quantity / price per kg-wise and said that during lockdown and a stay at home order, they need to be more equitable as because it's technically cheaper (smaller pack), the price promise doesn't get triggered! I do love a pre-7am moan. 😂

WreckTangled · 12/01/2021 08:08

Morning. Too busy/tired to post at the moment. Have five minutes spare before we need to leave this morning. It's tiring learning a whole new role at work but they already jokingly asked if I can stay forever so hopefully I'm doing a good job and they're not just being kind. Have to sit next to an open window though 🥶

CrazyBaubles · 12/01/2021 10:06

Morning.

Fluffy which magazine did you get? Costs sound reasonable so I may have a look...

Also, love an early morning moan 😂

Wreck would you consider a permanent move to this job if they offered it?
I hope you're wrapped up warm!

No big plans today - work, I want to pack one more box and we have a few unpacked bits upstairs in different rooms which together would fill one box I think. Also need to Hoover - the excitement!

WreckTangled · 12/01/2021 10:38

No, I hate being stuck in an office all day. And much prefer children's services.

PussyCatInChristmasStockings · 12/01/2021 10:58

Crazy You're just living that rock'n'roll lifestyle 😂😂
I've just assembled a sausage casserole for later. The whole house smells oniony.
DH is watching YouTube clips of a local old bloke rambling on about "That used to be a pub...that was the bus station...I remember when all of this was fields..." 🤔 I'm beginning to think he's a bit bored. I might have to find him something to do.

NoWordForFluffy · 12/01/2021 10:58

Crazy, it's The World of Cross Stitching. I got the app, which allowed me to buy Dec '20, and then offered the 2 further issues for 99p. I then cancelled the subscription so I didn't forget as I was burned with Amazon Music with that! Blush

Your day sounds as exciting as mine. I need to iron the cross stitch for my mum's card and then make the card. But I think I'll save the latter for after the kids have written it!

Another Sainsbury's moan: I ordered some Lindt for dad's birthday and they stuck the box under something heavy which crushed / split the box. So we had to send it back. Fools.

It's lovely and sunny, but cold! I put the washing out before 7, so hopefully it's drying nicely!
