Another distinction for dd in her piano! She's disappointed but I'm so pleased for her

Why's she disappointed? Isn't a distinction the highest grade?! Well done her!

Because she got the lowest possible grade for a distinction. But I've reminded her than she only had four months of lessons for that exam and three of those were via zoom plus we had to record the whole exam in one shot which took us days! So all things considering she did amazingly.

We're in! It needs a bloody good clean, and there are eleventy billion boxes to empty, but that's fine. Priority now is to show DD round, make the beds up, put up the curtains and collapse with fish and chips tonight x

Well done lachy wishing you many congratulations and good health & happiness in your new home. When we moved last year I emptied essential boxes straight away, but all the other ones about 1 or 2 a day, the pile soon disappears. Enjoy your takeaway.

I just got back from food shopping and am having a gin waiting for DH to come down from putting ds to bed so he can bring in the bags. We don't have street lights and I'm not that steady on my feet so I can't do it.

Also rearranged my vaccine for weds at a hospital closer (20 miles from me) so that's good. Redeployment starts Monday too. Will miss Netflix but will be so nice to have people to talk to

Can you believe after 25 Christmas bargain threads I now find that we need to buy a replacement Switch (not a lite).......and they are all out of stock (unless I buy off a random on Ebay) Arrrrgh!!!

Work has been a bit mad today and finding life insurance seems to be a bit tricky right now which is a stress. I'm going to give in and go to bed soon just to put a close to today as it's been rubbish.

puss when we did our road trip (summer 2019) we hired a people carrier where the back seats folded into the floor and slept in that for some of it. It was perfectly manageable but everywhere had public loos.
When we did the campervan last summer it didn't have a loo and Scotland is not so well equipped so it wasn't as good.

DH wants to convert a van and I've said as long as there is storage and a chemical loo I'll allow it.

70 I gave up on Emmerdale when the family in the estate was Lawrence - somebody(?) I think.

My ILs have offered to clean the house we're leaving as they're essentially shielding (not exactly necessary but they have some health concerns). They want to help but also don't want to be in a house with us so they've offered to come to the old house a few days after we move and clean which is amazing!

I am covering for a sick colleague so being back at work has been a shock to the system after a relaxed Christmas! Congratulations on moving lachy. Sorting out your Christmas decorations sounds like a good plan. Every year, i bring loads of boxes down from the loft and only use about a third of the stuff.
Congratulations to your DD too Wreck- a distinction is v impressive at any time but especially after zoom lessons.

Thanks. It was only 18 month ago she got a keyboard for her birthday and she's now got a distinction in the initial, grade 1 and grade 2. I dread to think what she's going to be like if (when?) she doesn't quite make the distinction.

DH is working today I'm still in bed but should probably get up. Need to exercise too.

I think if you have the capability - which she clearly does - I think it's easier to maintain the higher standard. And when she gets back to face to face lessons it'll be better for her too.

I'm going to the allotment tomorrow as it's still below freezing today so the soil will be too hard to do anything. And it'll be hideously cold on my hands!

It's going to be colder overnight tonight than last night here. I think it only just hit freezing last night but forecast -4° tonight. Brrr.

I need to get some washing on there's so much of it.

My greenhouse door was frozen shut! I've just remembered a bit late really about a trick with a terracotta pot and tea light candle for warming unheated greenhouses. Would've helped to have remembered about 3 weeks ago.

We've lost a lemon from the tree too, annoyingly. Not sure if it was cold or something else.

Distinction is great Wreck , though your DD sounds similar to mine that she does well but gets angry with herself if she thinks she should've done better . DD was in the first wave of Non Exams last year , though she'd done her mocks which this years pupils might not be able to.

DS has guitar lessons via Skype , it's not the same as F2F and only 30 minutes but it's not in the group so suppose he concentrates more

lachy once you;ve woken up disorientated , got your new house in order and decided where you're going to put the Christmas Tree ( always on RightMove I think Oh the tree would go there ) you can get the sprouts on. Last year I didn't buy mine till June and they were a tad raw .

Wrong side of NY for me, and I'm looking for a retailer that sells an insurance at the some time as with the old Switch I've spent a fortune on repairs. My ideal with be Very, so will just keep checking stock levels.
What's quite annoying is Argos and Smyths have stock, but not in my local stores but dont deliver!
What a weird distribution model!!!
