I haven't seen this thread yet and it's one I enjoy - the annual game of fridge jenga!

Here is ours - no meat in there yet so not sure where that is going to fit 😬

There is lots of booze & juice as well as prawn cocktail, squirty cream & double cream, red cabbage, Savoy cabbage, sprouts, a gazillion cheeses

I love how you’ve packed it all in - very impressive 😀

Oof, fancy me some Pek now. I'd never heard of it before.

‘Very polarised milk situation’ 😀

Skimmed milk for my coffee, fat milk for trifle and DH & DS’s hot chocolate.

Ah, that explains it. Please put me out of my misery - what extra special item are you saving the whole of your second door shelf for?

My guess is a long tube of cut them yourself and bake them pains au chocolat?

Or an obscenely long Galician chorizo sausage?

Well this has given me the festive cheer, it was nothing short of an arduous chore and I may or may not have used gaffer tape to shut the door.

‘Why do you need so much if friends and family aren’t coming’

You do not know how many people are in a family, also people, especially now will try to get everything in for a while to avoid shopping frequently.

The misery of some posters 🙄

myhobbyisouting · 22/12/2020 23:22

@Smile3

I'm not coping with your fridge 🙈

Please can you move the meat down a couple of shelves and why a whole shelf for two bottles of j20!

Yes, fuck those who have always struggled, especially those who are disabled and fucked over when UC was introduced. They deserve it, lazy fuckers who couldn't afford Christmas last year. Well they should have got a second job /taken in ironing/sold shit on ebay
myhobbyisouting · 22/12/2020 23:23

Oh wow. You did it as I typed 😂🙈

Much better

PickAChew · 22/12/2020 23:23

Biscuits go soggy in the fridge. Probably why they taste bad.

Seriously, I don't wander into parenting threads saying it's bad taste for people to post about their neurotypical children.

Mine needs a clean Xmas Blush but here's the outside:

Ah. I had imagined something long and indulgent!

Any way happy Xmas! Enjoy all your goodies!

DrMadelineXMASwell · 22/12/2020 23:25

Where the bloody hell is the milk in some of these fridges?

DH gets properly twitchy if we are down to our last 4 pint bottle, so we usually have 3 in the door and some of these fridges seem very milk-light! :)

We've upgraded our fridge to a tall one a couple of years ago and it's very satisfying to see it full.
And this year's upgrade was to get a full length tall freezer too to allow us to stock up and take advantage of bargains (no panic buying!). It's very satisfying to have the capacity finally after being stuck with tiny u under counter things for so many years.

LookingAfterLittleArfur · 22/12/2020 23:26

‘Why do you need so much if friends and family aren’t coming’

Just because people aren’t coming doesn’t mean that some of us aren’t cooking and delivering dinners to them (covid securely of course).

Smile3 · 22/12/2020 23:26

Thanks for the concernGrin

Literallynoidea · 22/12/2020 23:26

@BronwenFrideswide you're an absolute misery and spoiling people's innocent fun.

Please go away and indulge your misery elsewhere rather than spreading it around.

Gosh thought I had fridge envy but top loader washing machine 😍
HeIsAVeryBadBoy · 22/12/2020 23:36

YAY! I love the annual Christmas fridge-off.

I remember that last year somebody swanned in with some big American number stuffed to the rafters with luxury food.

Anyway, shall post tomorrow after Tesco has been. God knows how much of my delivery I'll get or what subs I'll have. Wish me luck!

elQuintoConyo · 22/12/2020 23:52

WellThisWillHelp no choice, tiny kitchen, no other room for it! It has a 14 minute cycle and tbh I don't choose any other Xmas Blush I can do towels, bedding, darks, whites and have it all blowing in the wind in an hour!

Sorry for derail... Our fridge will be happy but not groaning tomorrow when we buy our veg.
@damnthemanatee beautiful!! How did you get a fridge like this??
It's not my fridge, I got it from their Twitter I think.
Mine is pretty good though. I spent an absolute fortune on containers to organise my fridge and food cupboards.

hazandduck · 23/12/2020 00:07

The raw meat mixed with everything else in some of these fridges is making me so uncomfortable 🙈😄 it’s how my in-laws pack their fridge! Makes me queasy!

We went and did our Christmas food shop in lidl today. I was quite nervous. First time I’ve actually been in a supermarket since March! Thought we’d try the Lidl’s beef Wellington this year instead of faffing around making something ourselves as it’s our first year with two small kids (we usually get something from the butchers).

I was pleasantly surprised to find it was quiet, calm and everything very well stocked apart from the loo roll which was totally gone. Why are people still panic buying bog roll 🙈

I went with the baby, toddler and DH, took a child each; I had the pushchair he put the toddler in the trolley and we basically whizzed round separately and met up at the end to pay to get out as quick as we could. Saw lots of couples shopping together. Everyone distancing and polite. Do people really get annoyed about families shopping together??

I’m in bed and can’t be bothered to go down and take a picture of the fridge but mine is always mainly full of bloody milk bottles! (It’s a small half fridge half freezer standing one.) Potatoes, carrots, onions, parsnips etc all live in the veg trolley, best £30 ever spent.

Anyone else trying the Lidl’s beef welly this year?
