Thanks @GoblinDaughter for the title

It’s nearly December, Father Christmas is busy putting the final touches to his toys on the workshop and we are busy elves preparing for a somewhat different Christmas this year.

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

@jingleballing, might she like the Artemis Fowl books?

Whattheduck · 16/12/2020 13:00

I went to my local Asda this morning and they had lots of children’s bedding reduced I managed to pick up a lovely soft fleece blanket with animals on for my nephew it was reduced from £7 to £2.25.

@1stMrsFatherChristmas

A PP recommended a website called pod pouch, selling leather cases for apple airpods. I've ordered and paid via PayPal but am a bit suspicious of the company. Has anyone received anything from them? Proceed with caution. Just that there are a few different names and website addresses associated with them, contact email address is weird, social media footprint minimal and they haven't despatched as expected. Should have looked a bit more closely at the time but have been so well served by this thread that I was a bit more trusting than I should have been. If it turns out to be genuine but just small co I will report back, but not optimistic.
I take it all back, it arrived today! Nice quality for the price. Podpouch.com

Thanks @CeeceeBloomingdale that’s helpful.

HoHoHolyMackerel · 16/12/2020 13:29

Any suggestions where I might get two christmas plates for my boys christmas dinner. I've left it too late I think 🤔

Daisy829 · 16/12/2020 13:32

What was the verdict on the best place for weighted blankets? I’ve decided that I would like one for myself from mil for Xmas.

Matalan, assuming you can get to a store, wouldn’t risk delivery now
DillieDoily · 16/12/2020 13:33

After ignoring all the heated throw offers and recommendations I now think my DH would like one for Christmas! Can anyone recommend one for £40 or less? The one I was going to buy from the Costco website is now out of stock in grey (and I think the cream colour would go too grubby too quickly)

Thedarknightsaredrawingin · 16/12/2020 14:15

@DillieDoily I got one from Lakeland when I had a money off code. However wasn’t fastest delivery.

RugsEverywhere · 16/12/2020 14:24

ebay auctionstealer.com bids at the last minute for you. I've been using it for years

Totallylostnow · 16/12/2020 14:34

I need a one of those long pillows for my dd bed to make it more comfortable when sitting watching tv, probably pink. Any ideas?

Prizepudding · 16/12/2020 14:50

@Daisy829, I was recommended onlinehomestore.com for a weighted blanket. The quality is good, reasonably priced and delivery times were brilliant, it took under 2 days to arrive.

Home bargains have ones with sections if that's any good
Salamander91 · 16/12/2020 14:53

And b&m's too @HoHoHolyMackerel

TwnklTwnklLittleStarfighter · 16/12/2020 15:20

Thanks @margaritasbythesea fir the Zavvi info. Did you have any luck cancelling? I can’t get any response from them. Only one of the missing items was preorder, the rest are still showing as in stock, just not dispatched.

margaritasbythesea · 16/12/2020 15:40

Yes. It was very easy to cancel. I went into my account. Found the order and requested a cancellation. I think I had to do each item individually

runningpink · 16/12/2020 15:57

Thanks @RugsEverywhere il check that out

SpamIAm · 16/12/2020 16:09

@HoHoHolyMackerel I got my plates from home bargains

Dishevelled09 · 16/12/2020 16:12

Dunelm had some Xmas sets in my local store yesterday for younger kids @HoHoHolyMackerel

Dishevelled09 · 16/12/2020 16:13

@DilyDoily just been in my local Lidl and they have heated throws for £30, don't know if it's out early for tomorrow's offers?

Dishevelled09 · 16/12/2020 16:16

Dunelm have cuddle cushions @Totallylostnow ?

I work all over the place in retail so go in lots of shops!

PunkAssMoFo · 16/12/2020 16:27

@jingleballing an easel could be an inexpensive but bulkier item to pad things out. I also bought pads of canvas paper for my dd as they are easier to store than the mounted type.

Daisy829 · 16/12/2020 16:56

@Prizepudding thank you that looks perfect and a great price. Just need to decide fleece or non fleece.

Totallylostnow · 16/12/2020 17:31
