Thanks @GoblinDaughter for the title

It’s nearly December, Father Christmas is busy putting the final touches to his toys on the workshop and we are busy elves preparing for a somewhat different Christmas this year.

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.

@sugarplumfairy2010 what about a Corolle baby doll? They do one for little hands, they smell beautiful, and are made in France. DD got hers at 6 months and it's played with daily at 2 years.

Tomy hide and squeak eggs are usually a big hit

Famousthehero · 14/12/2020 15:03

@sugarplumfairy2010 my go to present for new babies is usually an Oball, they're super light and full of holes, so they can pick them up really easily

Helium balloon for the baby? Nice and shiny to look at, older sibling can wave it around for them and then in a couple of weeks you can throw it away GrinOtherwise just buy whatever practical bits the baby will need in the next few months and wrap those up.
@PinkDaydreams, I asked for weighted blanket recommendations on a previous thread and 2 posters suggested onlinehomeshop.com. I ordered an adult one and it arrived very quickly and I’m very pleased with the quality, it’s also been great for my sleep too. Noticed they had kids ones too and are reasonably priced.
Thank you I'll check out the website :)

TheCrow · 14/12/2020 16:03

Seconding the hide and squeak eggs, they were a big hit with my nephew. They're in the 2 for £15 offer at Argos too

I am done, but last minute (like usual) my DD has asked for idea for my DM, she is 60, but young and normally buys whatever she wants when she wants it.

She likes gin, champagne, nice perfume, cappuccino chocs from Thornton's and has lots of nice and costume jewellery. She is currently WFH and will be for the foreseeable and we are tier 3 so unfortunately spa days, hotels, shows are out at the moment.

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

MaverickDanger · 14/12/2020 16:36

What about an oil diffuser @shipperssss? Doesn’t need to be the expensive Neom one, Amazon have some lovely ones.

Dreamingofwalden · 14/12/2020 16:44

That’s annoying @shipperssss. I really like the Drop Store - thanks to this thread Grin - they have some great deals on gin.

These crackers are cute! gin crackers

We have had the hide and squeak eggs twice. Once for ds 1&2, they were so good I bought them again 9 years later for ds3!

franfranwills · 14/12/2020 16:51

I just bought a few of these gin making kits there around £8 and a great present for friends and secret Santa's.😁

TheGirlWhoLived · 14/12/2020 17:08

@thaegumathteth you have now made me twitch! Dd would absolutely love an among us guide, could I ask which one you went for as there are quite a few to choose from! Tempted to get a colouring book version for dd2 too...

Casablanca78 · 14/12/2020 17:13

Turns out I need a secret santa present for a 9 year old boy! Budget something around £5-8. I have no clue what boys that age like and don't really know the child to have any idea what he is in to!
Can anyone help with any ideas please?
Thank you.

Mumto3thatsme · 14/12/2020 17:29

Thanks for the tea hamper suggestions. I’m a bit wary of ordering from Whittards with the delivery see,I got to take a while, but I see amazon have some Whittards products so might have to use amazon, I quite like the look of the plastic window bird boxes from an earlier thread, so tea and a bird box with seed should do the deal x

EverybodyKeepCool · 14/12/2020 17:44

Just wanted to say how lovely the candle is that arrived today from Arlo & Fox. She was the lovely mumsnetter who offered to replace a candle for someone from her new business. It smells amazing!!

sleepismysuperpower1 · 14/12/2020 18:02

@Casablanca78 i'd personally go for sweets or chocolate of some kind, always a safe bet!

Puffalicious · 14/12/2020 18:04

Funny, I've just bought the Tomy eggs for DN at t months! Ours were from DS214 and we still.have them in our box for visiting babies!

ClosedAuraOpenMind · 14/12/2020 18:05

someone was looking for family pyjamas? just had an email from IWOOT saying you can get an adult and child pair for £25 with code PYJAMAS

TickleMyTitsTilFriday · 14/12/2020 18:20

Does anyone know how I can get a reduction on Cards Against humanity Family edition please? I reeaaally want it but £30 just seems so steep for a pack of cards!

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 14/12/2020 18:41

@TickleMyTitsTilFriday, W H Smith has a £5 off £30 code. So you'd need to find a cheap biro or something to get over the threshold as it's £29.99 on there!

sorryiasked · 14/12/2020 18:44

@Casablanca78 top trumps is usually a good bet (the poo trumps in particular is always popular!)

sleepismysuperpower1 · 14/12/2020 18:45

Gruum are offering free shampoo bars, you just need to cover postage (around £3). they are offering 4 different types, and would make a good stocking filler

Thedarknightsaredrawingin · 14/12/2020 18:47

@chillimice I’m not sure if you have ordered anything yet but check with the ward if they can accept gifts due to covid. FIL passed away but we weren’t allowed to send a gift so I got around it by sending a card with a voucher code for a local deli who deliver asking the team to order a cake break on us as a thank you. He deli owner and grew in free delivery as it was to the hospital too.

TickleMyTitsTilFriday · 14/12/2020 18:56

@ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy brilliant thank you!!!
