Thanks @GoblinDaughter for the title

It’s nearly December, Father Christmas is busy putting the final touches to his toys on the workshop and we are busy elves preparing for a somewhat different Christmas this year.

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Foodie gifts

Thedarknightsaredrawingin · 12/12/2020 17:16

@EvilHerbivore most true foodies like local and authentic. Bakery box delivered, local cheese selection, local honey... I got a coffee from my husbands favourite delivered as he’s not been in the office since lockdown and we stay 40miles away (and added £5 of chocolate making it free delivery).

runningpink · 12/12/2020 17:32

Anyone any suggestions for these two recipients. Trawling through the internet and still have no idea...

16 year old girl. Likes baking, hair/beauty, clothes

14 year old boy. Plays piano, loves being involved at the theatre, Xbox

Worse case I will get a voucher but an actual gift would be great.

spudsuliked · 12/12/2020 17:41

Sorry to be this person but could someone remind me which company made the photo jigsaws that were good quality? Hoping there's time before Christmas.. thank you!

Chunkychipsohyeah · 12/12/2020 18:04

Spare Hotel Chocolat code, £5 off £30, £10 off £50 or £20 off £80: GZHCXMAS. Leaflet states one time use only.

Thedarknightsaredrawingin · 12/12/2020 18:16

@runningpink rough budget?

runningpink · 12/12/2020 18:18

Ah I should have said. Around the £10 mark but happy to go up to £15 for the right gift

Dolphintrainer · 12/12/2020 18:19

@spudsuliked it was Photobox, I ordered 2 in October and the quality is great. But I was looking for something else on their site on Thursday and I’m sure it said could not deliver the jigsaws before Christmas. But double check.

TimeToCloseTheDoor · 12/12/2020 18:22

@EvilHerbivore

I'm looking for a secret Santa foodie gift, around £20 if possible Bought my snack surprise box for this but it's still not turned up
I can’t recommend Bakedin enough, their customer service, delivery and products are the best for a sweet tooth gift.
sorryiasked · 12/12/2020 18:24

@runningpink budget?

slithytoveisascientist · 12/12/2020 18:24

@VividImagination

I can’t remember who recommended Pink and Greene but my Christmas Cards have arrived and they are really lovely. Not the cheapest cards I’ve ever bought but they came with 6 free first class stamps and were free postage. I’d definitely use them again.

Now to write them!

Pink & Greene have all Christmas cards half price at the moment and free delivery if you order £10. Just ordered some to put away for next year!
JoHo123 · 12/12/2020 18:37

@EvilHerbivore My first Snack Surprise box arrived on Thursday and I signed up on 23rd November so maybe yours will arrive at the beginning of the week - fingers crossed

Iggi999 · 12/12/2020 18:43

I'd like to get ds (14) some weights, no idea where to look!
For a hard to buy for man (or woman) who likes football - I've bought a couple of phone cases from nostalgiacases before, they do basically any football team logo. £16.99 each

runningpink · 12/12/2020 18:46

@Iggi999 I have got weights in the past from Argos and during lockdown from fitness superstore

There was a high demand during lockdown and not sure if they have recovered from that but worth a look

beadyboo · 12/12/2020 19:09

Blinked and I’ve missed a whole thread!
I’m still waiting for a large Boots order placed 2 weeks ago. I’ve already had to buy one replacement as it was due for a secret Santa on Friday and I’m about to miss a birthday.
Hopefully my fairy houses are finally on their way though.
Other than that I’m almost done, just my 5 year old niece. She has a December birthday and I can’t think of a single thing she doesn’t have. Are LOL still popular at that age?

spudsuliked · 12/12/2020 19:28

@dolphintrainer thank you! Still okay for Christmas delivery this week so fingers crossed I've made it!

PinkJam · 12/12/2020 19:34

Does anyone know of any purple coloured Jellycat soft toys? Not the bunny’s.

DD has told me that’s what she asked Santa for at nursery last week!!

TheCrow · 12/12/2020 19:46

@pinkjam a few came up on eBay when searching purple jelly at, not sure if they're current ones or retired though

TwnklTwnklLittleStarfighter · 12/12/2020 19:46

@PinkJam How about this little purple flower fairy

PinkJam · 12/12/2020 19:52

@TheCrow Thank you, I will have a further look into those. I saw the little Octupus when I was Googling but couldn’t see it on any shop websites so wasn’t sure if genuine Jellycat or not. I didn’t realise that they “retired” certain ones Smile

@TwnklTwnklLittleStarfighter Thank you, will have a look now. Not seen any of those style before Smile

Salamander91 · 12/12/2020 20:06

@PinkJam if you search purple on jellycat website there's a hippo and a monster

Thedarknightsaredrawingin · 12/12/2020 20:08

@runningpink slogan T-shirts from topshop are v popular amongst DD16’s friends. Other popular gifts have been morphe pallets (some on offer now), cosy pyjamas, sharpie pens and Victoria’s Secret body sprays.

For the boy a Hamilton mug or book?

PinkJam · 12/12/2020 20:08

@Salamander91 Thank you Smile the hippo sounds good.
