Thread 25 - the one where WE GOT TO MAGIC THREAD 25!

Reastie · 05/12/2020 06:50

25th December is Christmas Day and for the first time ever we’ve hit 25 threads! My little challenge every year was will be make it magic number 25 and we’ve only gone and done it and still 20 days to go!

Thank you everyone for posting and sharing ideas and links, so many have been helped in what will be a very difficult Christmas for many, to be able to achieve a Christmas more bumper and less expensive than they had thought they could manage,

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Here’s Barbarara’s instructions from last year on doing clicky links:

Open double square brackets

Space
Name of link
No space
Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

Oh that Hotel chocolat deal is very tempting!

Prizepudding · 07/12/2020 18:46

I am hoping someone can please help with recommendations for a weighted blanket for an adult? I have seen them mentioned multiple times over the various threads and now think it might make a great present for someone. Thanks

Dolphintrainer · 07/12/2020 18:47

@FizzyPink I’ve given you a follow, looks lovely!

shipperssss · 07/12/2020 18:49

I know it's all been mentioned in previous threads/years...but is there any deals to be had on Spode Christmas sets at the moment? Or can anyone remember where the original bargains came from? Thanks.

TheGriffle · 07/12/2020 18:54

@AFingerofFudge I have just caved and bought the Mellow collection from Hotel Chocolate for £30 delivered. I’ve been dithering for weeks on whether to get some or not. The £5 code worked for me along with FREEDEL30 and HOLLY20

TheGriffle · 07/12/2020 18:57

@Prizepudding I’ve bought a weighted blanket from Online Home Shop as a gift for my nan and it feels very heavy and looks good quality. Obviously I haven’t taken it out of the packaging but from what I can see it looks good and was under £20

dizzygirl1 · 07/12/2020 19:02

So tempted by the hotel chocolate deal but trying to be good!

silky86 · 07/12/2020 19:03

Just thinking that I may have to try my Aldi velvitiser before Christmas Eve as there seems to be quite a lot of faulty ones - does anyone have a working one HmmHmm

Tigger83 · 07/12/2020 19:07

@nocutsnobuttsnococonuts if it's still available yes please!

Lovemusic33 · 07/12/2020 19:09

Same, I bought some the last time they had there offer so I don’t really need anymore. The big box of chocolates in Aldi look really good too for £14.99, I’m trying to decide which to gift to my mum, the Aldi box or the large hotel chocolate box out of my hamper?

I bought this one for dd1, me and dd2 tested it out and it seems really good.

@CeeceeBloomingdale

Re hot chocolate flakes, I bought Charbonnel Luxury Hot Drinking Chocolate Flakes last year after it was recommended on here and I can confirm that it is on par with the hotel chocolat hot chocolate :) I think I got it on offer from Amazon

RJnomore1 · 07/12/2020 19:17

Oh baaaaaaa I’ve just spent £30 on chocolat I don’t need...🙈

JoHo123 · 07/12/2020 19:27

11% TopCashback on Hotel Chocolat Meltingly Good bundle and 8.8% cashback on other online purchases and it says that it works with the Holly20 code.

So to recap... and I hope I’ve got this right...
Go through Top Cashback
£20 off Meltingly Good, Nice List and Mellow collection with code HOLLY20
£5 off £30, £10 off £50 or £20 off £80 with code CLHCXMAS
Free delivery with FREEDEL30

I’ll take one for the team and check that all works. Just for research of course!!!

Runforwine · 07/12/2020 19:29

yafilthyanimalsandahappynewyear Not sure if you're still following this thread but I just got my heavenly necklace order through. Really please I only ordered a £10 mystery box and got to pairs of earrings. Hope you got something nice.

JoHo123 · 07/12/2020 19:29

@CupoTeap I wonder if you got a duff one. It does work slightly better on my (January sale) paperchase wrapping paper than the cheap stuff - sometimes it gets a bit scrunched up at the beginning. On the whole though, I just slide it across and voila! Sorry, not much help.

RaggieDolls · 07/12/2020 19:32

Thank you @AFingerofFudge and @TheGriffle. I've used the codes to order the mellow hamper for aunt and uncle. I would say that's my shopping all done but I'm thinking about twitching on the bath bombs for DD's stocking.

yafilthyanimalandahappynewyear · 07/12/2020 19:32

@Runforwine I am always following this thread, I'm obsessed 😁!
I got the £20 mystery box which arrived quickly. I got a pair of earrings and a lovely necklace, I'm keeping the necklace and my teen is eyeing up the earrings!

dizzygirl1 · 07/12/2020 19:35

I tested the hotel chocolate on all 3 hampers and it came out at £85. Juts the mellow hamper and its £30.
I'm just not sure I can justify it when it's just for me!

RJnomore1 · 07/12/2020 19:36

Morphe has a flash sale, lots of palettes and highlighters down to £5

Allhallowseve · 07/12/2020 19:36

@shipperssss there were some bargainous Spode plates , bowls etc in my local tk max this week

CeeceeBloomingdale · 07/12/2020 19:37

@Mumumumu thank you!

Allhallowseve · 07/12/2020 19:37

@nocutsnobuttsnococonuts yes please can I have the voucher if you still have ?

RaggieDolls · 07/12/2020 19:40

@Elphaba17, I twitched on the bath bomb kit.

MysweetAudrina · 07/12/2020 19:40

Another sheep here just ordered the nice collection from hotel chocolat using the codes thanks.
