Thread 25 - the one where WE GOT TO MAGIC THREAD 25!

Reastie · 05/12/2020 06:50

25th December is Christmas Day and for the first time ever we’ve hit 25 threads! My little challenge every year was will be make it magic number 25 and we’ve only gone and done it and still 20 days to go!

Thank you everyone for posting and sharing ideas and links, so many have been helped in what will be a very difficult Christmas for many, to be able to achieve a Christmas more bumper and less expensive than they had thought they could manage,

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Here’s Barbarara’s instructions from last year on doing clicky links:

Open double square brackets
No space
Paste link
Space
Name of link
No space
Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

Hôtel Chocolat, Pendragon, M&S...

livingthegoodlife · 07/12/2020 09:17

@CeeceeBloomingdale m&s!! In a red box. They are fab. I'm off to buy more today if I can. Not too sweet as they are dark chocolate.

@PinkDaydreams I think unidays do 10 or 15% off Huawei direct. I can send you a code if you want to try?

Fuckingfuckssake · 07/12/2020 09:49

Thank you for the nail varnish recommendations, another one waiting for a Switch from Very, ordered Black Friday weekend.

sugarplumfairy2010 · 07/12/2020 10:10

Thought I was done but I'm twitching. Any recommendations for a bath bomb set? My girls are loving them at the moment. I bought one from very a few months back but the instructions weren't in English and couldn't find them on the Internet so couldn't use it properly.

Elphaba17 · 07/12/2020 10:21

We've had a few bath bomb making sets over the past few years and this one was by far the best. Its one of my go to presents now as well.

Just picked up my herd mentality game! @Inastatus looks just the thing to do on Christmas Day evening, Waterstones has so many lovely gifts in- I do forget about them sometimes!

purplepandas · 07/12/2020 10:53

Morning, does anyone have an Ebay code? Trying to buy DH an expensive secnod hand camera lens. The present 15 and nectar20 ones expired yesterday it seems. Thanks.

purplepandas · 07/12/2020 10:53

Sorry for typos and lack of please, poor manners on my part. Apologies!

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 07/12/2020 11:02

Character.com has 50% off selected items of clothing using code SANTA2020 but you have to find the secret Santa icon for them to qualify! Try here for a list - they do some lovely clothes.

I made a special trip to a different town today to visit Flying Tiger for some things I wanted - although they didn't have any paper stars Sad - and they have hiked the parking charges up for December. Literally double the cost for an hour's parking! This is a town which prides itself on having smaller, independent shops (ie: plenty with no/ very small online presence) and yet they seem to be actually discouraging visitors. Grrrrrr. At least I'm pretty much done with the shopping, thanks to this amazing thread!

The Entertainer have 20% off full price toys with code Save20

EweSurname · 07/12/2020 11:15

Saw this morning - made me smile!

That would be lovely thank you! :)

FizzyPink · 07/12/2020 11:50

Has anyone purchased any naice crackers that aren’t super expensive? I saw some very nice looking ones in Sainsbury’s but they had the usual tat inside which I was hoping to avoid

Inastatus · 07/12/2020 11:52

@TheGirlWhoLived - great, I got mine too. Can’t wait to play it 😊

Chabbylis · 07/12/2020 12:03

I had the Hotel Chocolat website open, have been kicking myself for not confirming a Black Friday purchase. Then a promotion appeared: holly20 gives £20 off a selection of 3 hampers. I just bought 2 at £55 for £70! freedel30 still works too :)

Sunshineskies · 07/12/2020 12:13

Yappy (personalised dog presents) have 20% off everything with XMAS20.

Clementine8 · 07/12/2020 12:16

I’m almost done now, just need to wrap to check I haven’t missed anyone. Once again I couldn’t have done it without all your help. People on here amaze me with their generosity and helpfulness especially howmanysleepsnow. Thanks lovelies.

SpamIAm · 07/12/2020 13:03

@ClaraTheImpossibleGirl that seems a bit silly - our council have made all town centre car parks free and my hometown (nearby) have made them all £2 all day. Anything to encourage more footfall!

TheGriffle · 07/12/2020 13:17

Oh the twitch is real! I’ve just spent another £33 on Character (thanks for the tip off ClaraTheImpossibleGirl) to go with the £30 order I made a couple of weeks ago! My girls will be happy though. Can’t say no at half price!

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 07/12/2020 13:27

Groupon have a Dell outlet section and are offering a further 8% off with code GROUPON8 here

@SpamIAm it's really irritating! I don't live near the public transport links to this town either so I'd have to drive to the bus or train station anyway then pay travel on top, which would make harder work than driving. But the car park charges have put me off going at all!

@Chabbylis is there a link to the hampers on the Hotel Chocolat website? Not sure if I'm being a bit dim but I can't see anything about it and I haven't had a promotion come up, if you could point me in the right direction that would be much appreciated, as I still have a couple of presents to buy Smile

Theonlyoneiknow · 07/12/2020 13:28

Ooooo chabbyliss do you know which 3 sets were in the offer I can only see one? Thanks! :)

Theonlyoneiknow · 07/12/2020 13:28

Sorry chabbylis

sorryiasked · 07/12/2020 13:43

I got HC to work on this one

@TheGriffle I am trying not to twitch myself at the character.com offer - some stuff would be great for the DC, some for me Grin
