Thread 25 - the one where WE GOT TO MAGIC THREAD 25!

Reastie · 05/12/2020 06:50

25th December is Christmas Day and for the first time ever we’ve hit 25 threads! My little challenge every year was will be make it magic number 25 and we’ve only gone and done it and still 20 days to go!

Thank you everyone for posting and sharing ideas and links, so many have been helped in what will be a very difficult Christmas for many, to be able to achieve a Christmas more bumper and less expensive than they had thought they could manage,

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Here’s Barbarara’s instructions from last year on doing clicky links:

Open double square brackets
No space
Paste link
Space
Name of link
No space
Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

@amazonmulu
Red letter days have £10 off a £30 spend with WINTER10 but it ends at midnight

applepinkierainbow · 06/12/2020 22:17

@Junobug I emailed Fleurtations about an elf Jellycat which I had ordered did not get a response, then emailed again still nothing so raised a dispute with PayPal and got a very nice reply and immediate refund. Am guessing they were swamped.

4Minions2CallMyOwn · 06/12/2020 22:34

Oh no I ordered from Fleurtations this week with an expected in stock date of 17th Dec. Paid by credit card. Am a bit worried now Confused

margaritasbythesea · 06/12/2020 22:36

@Fuckingfuckssake I saw this in M and S the other day and thought it was really nice. Nearly bought it for dd but she has stacks already.
@rosebb1 No! I realised yesterday that a jellycat I had ordered 2 weeks ago from Fluertaions now is out of stock and I havent received mine. I'm going to email tomorrow but I'm not holding my breath.
If I were you, I would ring them. I rang a few times and they answered my calls - might be better than emailing.
My item was going to be back in stock on 16th Dec, but I just didn't want to risk it as it is a main present for DS1.
They were really good about the refund and it came through quite quickly. They are still sending me the other half of my order which is a Jellycat Broccoli for DS2! Grin

Lostinagoodbook · 06/12/2020 22:53

I bought a dragon from fleurtations and got an email saying out of stock did I want a refund or wait etc. I replied..... 2 weeks ago but no refund yet. Out of pocket by £50 so could do with it sorting!! Will have to try phoning.

jingleballing · 06/12/2020 23:02

@famousthehero just to let you know I've reported your post as it had your personal details on there x

Fred56 · 06/12/2020 23:25

I got a large jellycat toast and a boiled egg from jeremyhomestore similar price to fleurtations campus gifts also have some in stock reasonably priced

nicky2512 · 06/12/2020 23:31

rosebb1 I hope you get sorted. I think I had better just go for it too first thing. I have a poorly dog sleeping on my arm so I can’t do it now! That’s a line I never thought I would say!!

Dreamingofwalden · 06/12/2020 23:52

The Christmas tree is now up and the train set is sat in the same room looking sad. I sent Cox & Cox an email about the missing piece of track. They sent a generic reply about slow deliveries and suggested if it was a query other than delivery dates to phone them. I spent an hour and a half on hold to them - managed to cook lunch and feed toddler twins to the background of their lovely Muzak - before I gave up. Have now raised a dispute through PayPal. In the meantime I have ordered one from Amazon that should arrive tomorrow. I’ll be interested to compare them.
**@BeaLola* I bought the wrapping paper roll cutter that @Famousthehero* mentioned last year. Absolute game changer! Ended up buying them for the whole family and most of the ladies in my office! I only paid a couple of quid on eBay though I bought them earlier in the year and they took a while to come. Search “wrapping paper sliding cutter”
I have trouble with mine, just don't have the knack, any tips?

CupoTeap · 07/12/2020 06:29

I started wrapping yesterday, the earliest I have ever done it, and the only time without a drink in my hand Grin

Allhallowseve · 07/12/2020 06:58

I'm after something for my 19yr old sister . Something for at home pampering was thinking a neom candle and bubble bath ? Any thoughts ....

Famousthehero · 07/12/2020 07:41

@jingleballing thanks! I thought I'd checked as well Hmm

Trumpton · 07/12/2020 07:59

@Allhallowseve.
Neom candles are fabulous .
I love getting a small luxury item .

greyinganddecaying · 07/12/2020 08:06

Second the neom candle - I love mine!

PinkDaydreams · 07/12/2020 08:07

Ok thank you! To be honest I didn't think Huawei would do discount

Daisy829 · 07/12/2020 08:16

I agree I think fleurtations are extremely busy. I ordered the jellycat avocado and 2 weeks later it still hadn’t arrived. I phoned them last Thursday, they dispatched it that day and it arrived on Saturday. The man I spoke to was very helpful. Everywhere seems slammed this Xmas for deliveries.

Allhallowseve · 07/12/2020 08:17

Thanks thinking small luxury treat budget about £20

Chailatte20 · 07/12/2020 08:19

@PinkDaydreams

Ok thank you! To be honest I didn't think Huawei would do discount
Also check if certain American apps like Google run on Huawei as it is a Chinese firm. The US and China have had a falling out that's putting it mildly & Trump has banned a few US apps on Huawei phones. It might not be an issue for you but check before you buy.
Lovemusic33 · 07/12/2020 08:24

Glad I ordered DD’s jellycat from somewhere else although if it doesn’t turn up I can always give it to her for her birthday instead.

Yeknom · 07/12/2020 08:42

On the jellycat chat I ordered from Jeremys Homestore from a recommendation on here. Really happy with the service. Arrived quickly and I noticed they'd charged for delivery when I thought it should be free, they replied to my email and refunded me straight away. I'll definitely use them again! x

SomethingInTheWaySheCooks · 07/12/2020 09:04

It turns out I now need a Surface Pro 7 with i7 processor. It’s a massive purchase but is school related. Anyone any bargainous tips?

PinkDaydreams · 07/12/2020 09:07

@Chailatte20 thanks for the advice, DH is adamant he wants one so I'm leaving him to it!! He's been warned! 😂

CeeceeBloomingdale · 07/12/2020 09:08

I'm having trouble searching all 25 (🥳) threads, can anyone remind me of good places to buy hot chocolate flakes please?
