Thread 23 - the one where the shops are actually open again

Reastie · 26/11/2020 18:33

It’s nearly December, Father Christmas is busy putting the final touches to his toys on the workshop and we are busy elves preparing for a somewhat different Christmas this year.

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Here’s Barbarara’s instructions from last year on doing clicky links:

Open double square brackets
No space
Paste link
Space
Name of link
No space
Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

@TheLastStarfighter if Aldi don’t have any you can get the snowmen in home bargains.

TheLastStarfighter · 28/11/2020 13:17

Just heading off now Smile. Wish me luck! @silky86 if Aldi have the cuddle cushions do you want me to get you one and post to you?

ASkyPaintedGold · 28/11/2020 13:44

Not sure if it has been mentioned yet (these threads move so fast!)

La Menagerie 25% off their origami animal necklaces

lamenagerie.co

Really gorgeous little silver or gold plated necklaces - DD had the butterfly one on her list anyway and it's buy one get one half price! So, of course I HAD to buy the bee one, too...rude not to, really 😂

Lovemusic33 · 28/11/2020 13:53

@handmademitlove

Does anyone think there are going to be any new deals for Cyber Monday? none of the stuff I want to get was in the BF sales and trying to decide whether to hold on for monday or just buy anyway!
I am hoping so, I’m waiting for a few things to be reduced but mainly things for me. I think I’m finished with buying for everyone else (unless I twitch). I was hoping some of the 3D puzzles would be reduced in bf but there were not ☹️, over all BF was pretty disapointing.
Rockhopper81 · 28/11/2020 14:17

I'm going to be 'that person'...

After all the deals on Nintendo Switches - when I wasn't aware I needed one - it turns out I now do. Do we think there's any way of getting any reduction at all??

I'm just going to have to suck it up and pay the full price aren't I? 😕

TummyTurtle · 28/11/2020 14:19

Have been lurking on the last few threads and want to say thanks for some of your suggestions.

DH wanted a cocktail recipe journal - pp mentioned Filofax which was perfect. I didn't get it from WHSmith though - they are reduced on First Stop Stationers so got an A5 notebook for £10 incl delivery.

Got DM & DF the gin and whiskey tasting sets on Masters of Malt and a bottle of gin for me

DM is going to buy DH Lego Architecture New York set from Amazon.de as it's cheaper on there - thanks for that tip!

If anyone's looking for gifts for sewers I can recommend The Quilted Bear - well stocked, low prices, free delivery over £20 and 15% off new customers with NEW15. That sorted out gifts for DB's girlfriend Grin

Shitfuckoh · 28/11/2020 14:31

Argh I've got another person to buy for.

Is the offer for the Vodka still on? Can anyone remember what it was?
Or something like it for Whiskey? Confused

Gardenworm · 28/11/2020 14:36

@Rockhopper81 if you hang got one already what about opening a Very a/c to get £50 off?

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 28/11/2020 14:40

@pinkdaydreams I have a sistema porridge bowl that has a lid. Not a very exciting design though, mines plain red!

silky86 · 28/11/2020 14:50

@TheLastStarfighter thank-you but I think they would be a fortune to post. I'm going to be stalking dunelm just in case. Fingers crossed you get one x

Rockhopper81 · 28/11/2020 14:53

@Gardenworm - thank you, I think that's going to be the best deal. Wish I'd known earlier, I'd have been looking at deals more closely!

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 28/11/2020 15:11

@Shitfuckoh PP have mentioned Sapling Vodka and Black Cow vodka - Black Cow still has 25% off for Black Friday - or Master of Malt still has whisky deals on?

I bought two of these little wooden trees last year - I think a lot of us did as they were only a few quid! - I'd like more for this year but they seem to be a lot more expensive, unless anyone's seen a cheaper one?

Also if anything similar to the Ikea strala paper stars is available elsewhere, I'd love to get one... none are available online at the moment and we live nowhere near an Ikea to pop in for one Sad

WeAreTheWeirdosMister · 28/11/2020 15:19

@EnglishRose1320 Bulldog is a nice brand, but not too expensive and its 35% off right now www.bulldogskincare.com/uk/black-friday-2020/?fbrm&gclid=Cj0KCQiAh4j-BRCsARIsAGeV12CT-5OsFp5d7JZ2oPFdEpaSF3wPfJqOSzCNpZu0ISv6LgFl_PGLrlgaAkHuEALw_wcB

pigletpie2177 · 28/11/2020 15:20

I know they've both been referenced on earlier threads but I suspect those have long gone and wondering if anyone has seen BF bargains or has a code...

Looking for:
Weighted blanked (for adult in double bed)
Heated throw

Many thanks!

Rockhopper81 · 28/11/2020 15:23

Went for the Very £50 account - was then £233.odd delivered, which is almost as good as the Aldi and Tesco deals, so I'm glad really. 😊

Now games...Animal Crossing? Mario? Any other recommendations for that type or platform type games?

ThePurpleGirl · 28/11/2020 15:36

My doorbell just rang (the new one I bought in a Prime Day deal) and the Amazon man was standing there with two thigh-high piles of packages for me from my Black Friday spree. He was actually giggling at how many parcels there were Blush.

I hope I get a different man (or woman) tomorrow when the rest arrive so the full extent of my spree remains a secret to all except me (and all of you, but you won't tell anyone will you?!). Grin

I blame you lot (not really, I've never been able to resist a bargain). Repeats to self: I'm completely done, I don't need anything else.

Anyone else had their delivery person giggle at them yet?

Puffalicious · 28/11/2020 15:37

Rockhopper81 we've gone for Mario Kart and Minecraft as a starting point along with the Switch.Birthday in Feb where we can add on others.

EnglishRose I can agree that Bulldog is good. My DH has used all sorts of very expensive brands before and says Bulldog is very good-justs adds SPF on top. He really loves the Dermot O'Leary for M&S but it's increasingly hard to find.

If anyone in the market for an experience GoApe are doing 25% off all vouchers this weekend. I got teen DS2 £50 voucher for £37.50 which means he can go twice which I think is a bargain.
goape.co.uk/gift-experienceshere.

Puffalicious · 28/11/2020 15:39

try again

PinkDaydreams · 28/11/2020 15:39
@PinkDaydreams more pracatical than pretty but the ]] bowls are great!
Looked at that this morning in Asda but it's similar to what he has already

Puffalicious · 28/11/2020 15:46

Fragrancedirect has great deals. My favourite and oft quoted on the fragrance threads is down to £38 instead of my usual £65. Many others available. www.fragrancedirect.co.uk/s_/stella-mccartney/?prefn1=size&prefv1=51%20-%20100ml&listing=true&gclid=Cj0KCQiAh4j-BRCsARIsAGeV12Autbmxi47jI3iJGkCRVxBGdQZAW7FwSTjg2rNb0_Def1fqwChQOuQaAsR3EALw_wcBStellaMcCartney

Puffalicious · 28/11/2020 15:47

Link fail- sorry!

CoffeeAndEnnui · 28/11/2020 15:50

@ThePurpleGirl, a very good friend and her family have taken on some local delivery rounds so I get mocked and scolded every other day. Nightmare. I've started to auto-cringe every time I hear the door knocker. Luckily she's a total bargain lover too so I suspect their house gets just as many parcels!

CoffeeAndEnnui · 28/11/2020 15:54

Is anyone having issues with parcels being tampered with/opened? My courier deliveries have been fine but nearly every Royal Mail parcel has been messed with. The final straw today was that my bargainous Auntie Mims gemstone advent box had been bent at the side where some git had tried to open it through a gap in the packaging without realising it has magnet closures at the front. It was a special gift for a friend's dd who deserves a treat and I'm really cross.

oatmilkisntsobad · 28/11/2020 15:57

@IggyAce

Not bargain related but I need a good gingerbread recipe to make those mini gingerbread houses that sit on cup rim. It is however related because I find myself in need of the recipe because of the bargain cookie cutter needed for such Christmas cuteness recommended a few threads back.
I couldn't resist the mini cutters too! I'm planning on using this recipe that I got with the Lakeland gingerbread house mould. It's lovely
