It’s nearly December, Father Christmas is busy putting the final touches to his toys on the workshop and we are busy elves preparing for a somewhat different Christmas this year.

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.

Any ideas for something I can get delivered directly to my dad or brother (70 and 35)? They’re my last two and I’m completely stumped!

yafilthyanimalandahappynewyear · 28/11/2020 08:53

Zavvi have some price drops on Lego.

sorryiasked · 28/11/2020 08:55

@tildaturnip any interests? Do they live together? Budget?

Rubyroo73 · 28/11/2020 08:56

@Rockhopper81 that is such a lovely idea, hope you all enjoy! xx

ItWasTheBestOfTimes · 28/11/2020 08:57

Thanks, I planned to split them into 2 gifts, 6 for Dbro and his husband and the other 6 for DParents. We do secret Santa for adult gifts but i usually get everyone a bottle of spirits from the children as other siblings are childless, I will pick up some 6 bottle carriers.

ItWasTheBestOfTimes · 28/11/2020 09:00

Childless but they buy for my children*

trumpisaflump · 28/11/2020 09:01

nameforno3 · 28/11/2020 09:03

Just a thought for those who have relatives or friends that may be alone over xmas/needing some xmas cheer, I noticed some really cute mini xmas trees with decorations, by Bloom and Wild, currently discounted.

buckeejit · 28/11/2020 09:09

No particular interests so I am thinking food or drink? Or anything really! Up to £50 each and don’t live together. Thanks

AFingerofFudge · 28/11/2020 09:34

I feel like I've just about kept up with the threads but I've missed the cuddle cushion info until now. Is there a code for the Dunelm version?? Or somewhere better to buy them? Any info appreciated!

silky86 · 28/11/2020 09:35

Thanks @buckeejit think I might get them both the big ones then there isn't any arguing!

@Delahot

Anyone have any bargainacious ideas what to buy for a class of 31 Year 5 children. I like to get them a little gift for Christmas and the Head has agreed it’s ok as long as it’s quarantined/procedures followed. They seem quite a grown up bunch and I’m stumped. Have already done the hot choc cones, a key ring, a Christmas bauble etc in previous years. Anyone got any cheap and cheerful inspiration?
My DD’s class received little, individual gold bells to hang on the tree one year. They were obviously inexpensive, but beautiful. You could show them (or read them) the Polar Express before you gift them too. Failing that, does it matter if you replicate class gifts from previous years? They’re obviously different children and could be quite charming if a sibling remembers getting the same when they were in ‘Miss Delahot’s’ year.
Haveyoubrushedyourteeth · 28/11/2020 09:38

@Delahot how about a Christmas mug, or Home Bargains have cute little glass milk bottles with straws that have elves/Santa on. They would be under £1 each.
I've opted for the Aldi chocolate reindeer this year, purely because I only found out last night that Dd could take something in on Monday and we needed to factor in the quarantine time. They're a decent size though and at 39p an absolute bargain! I've no doubt they'll be well received.

luckiestgirl · 28/11/2020 09:38

Sorry, I can’t find the Laithwaites offer and I’m feeling the need to sheep. Can someone link it again please

ZebraStripez · 28/11/2020 09:39

I desperately want the Dunelm cuddle cushion but every single colour is out of stock for delivery. Has anyone bought a decent alternative elsewhere?

PinkDaydreams · 28/11/2020 09:45

I'm looking for a portable cereal bowl with lid if such a thing exists?! DH currently has a £1 home bargains one which is plastic. Wanting something a little nicer if possible Smile

JaneyJimplin · 28/11/2020 09:50

@Delahot one of mine is y5. I reckon his class would be thrilled with a bag of chocolate coins tbh - anything edible is preferable to crafty things!
