It’s nearly December, Father Christmas is busy putting the final touches to his toys on the workshop and we are busy elves preparing for a somewhat different Christmas this year.

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Here’s Barbarara’s instructions from last year on doing clicky links:

Open double square brackets
No space
Paste link
Space
Name of link
No space
Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

Is there no way to search on Qwertee?

I only need one more t-shirt for free shipping, but really don't want to scroll through screens and screens to find something that one of the family might like.

Theonlyoneiknow · 27/11/2020 18:15

Thanks TheLastStarfighter I am so slow, wish I had known about it before I ordered the Lego Technic Transporter but was happy that it was £30 cheaper with "easy open packaging" rather than standard! This is worth knowing though (wonder if it includes electronics!). Thanks again!

littlestpogo · 27/11/2020 18:26

@Iwillneverbesatisfied

How old is he?

My best friend died when I was young. I was given a few things of his and also got a Christmas tree decoration which related to something we did together. It was a really nice one.

I still have it and out it on the tree every year. Might be something nice along with another more fun gift perhaps?

Iwillneverbesatisfied · 27/11/2020 18:30

he is 8

margaritasbythesea · 27/11/2020 18:34

Just a suggestion but would adopring an animal or naming a star be an idea?

TheLastStarfighter · 27/11/2020 18:34

@Theonlyoneiknow You still got the best bargain on the Transporter Smile. There are only certain things that you can add to the list - and I noticed that if you go into the list and add the lego transporter, it will only add the regular one, so the one you got with the "easy open packaging" was still cheaper than if you got the regular one with the 15% off. You didn't miss a bargain! Grin

NaraDeer · 27/11/2020 18:38

@Iwillneverbesatisfied my daughter is a bit younger, 6, but the things that she finds most comforting when she’s upset about her daddy who died last year and a photo pillow and a build a bear with his voice in when you press his paw.

22Giraffes · 27/11/2020 18:50

Desperate for an Argos code if anyone has one please! I shop there all the time but they never send me codes Sad

McSleepy · 27/11/2020 18:56

If anyone sees Throw Throw Burrito or Bears vs Babies on offer please let me know! I suspect I have missed out on offers earlier in the month. We have both but my son has decided he’d like to give one to one of his friends as a birthday present and full price is too much.

FireflyGirl · 27/11/2020 19:02

Asj0405 · 27/11/2020 19:11

@McSleepy throw throw burrito

Imsayingnothing · 27/11/2020 19:12

SHO have 50% off with code SHOBLACK

TheCrow · 27/11/2020 19:13

@TheLastStarfighter I was looking for a qwertee search earlier and couldn't find one. I think it's because nothing can be named after copyrighted things so searching Pokémon for example wouldn't bring up any results anyway. It also irritated me by taking me back to the top of the page every time I clicked on anything and tried to go back to the main page 😕

Scout2016 · 27/11/2020 19:18

@Iwillneverbesatisfied how old is the child, roughly? Would something like Micheal Rosen's Sad Book be any good? Maybe not as his present but as a resource to help him.

McSleepy · 27/11/2020 19:18

@Asj0405 thank you! Hadn’t thought to look at eBay!

Asj0405 · 27/11/2020 19:19

Also bears vs babies with an extra 20% off using code PICKSMALLBIZ

PinkJam · 27/11/2020 19:22

@NaraDeer Thinking of you and your DD x

Arthien · 27/11/2020 19:30

Can anyone find the cheap fuel tins that can be used for making a s’mores hamper? I only want one or two and don’t want to pay the earth as it’s just a little extra. I’ve already bought the fancy marshmallows from Lidl to go with it, so thank you to whoever suggested that!

mummabear74 · 27/11/2020 19:37

@Arthien you need chafing fuel gel. The cheapest I've found including postage is two for £5.40 on eBay

Arthien · 27/11/2020 19:47

@mummabear74 that’s the one, couldn’t think of it. I found something like 6 for £12.99 but nothing so cheap for just a couple. I’ll see what eBay has to offer, thanks!

Just to add, the free delivery national trust code works on their fancy food too, not just the gifts section, in case that helps at all.

BunnyBerries · 27/11/2020 19:49

@ClaraTheImpossibleGirl
@SleighbellsAndHollyberries

I second the caution about Cath Kidston as I received a slightly damaged item and when I emailed about it a week and half ago about a replacement, I never got a reply (still haven't).
You may receive things but if there is any problem don't expect them being able to get back to you any time soon..
