It’s nearly December, Father Christmas is busy putting the final touches to his toys on the workshop and we are busy elves preparing for a somewhat different Christmas this year.

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Has anyone seen any tartan/ Scottish themed items around today (I'm thinking along the lines of scarves, notebooks, Scottish food like shortbread or fudge etc) to make a themed hamper for my 80yr old non-drinking mum.

In return I can offer you Anorak who have a upto 50% sale on with free p&p
Anorak sale

Evening. Nearly everything my teen dd asked for has sold out - that’ll teach her for not giving me a list early! Anyway, one of the things was a galaxy led light for the ceiling. There are tons on Amazon and eBay- anyone got one they could recommend or avoid? Rather go under £30

thelegohooverer · 27/11/2020 19:52

I think I need to replace the Lookfantastic advent calendar that I ordered for my dsis. She’s had an awful year and I wanted to pamper her a bit but I’ve absolutely no faith in it turning up now. Can anyone recommend an alternative?

kingat · 27/11/2020 20:05

I had Lisa Angel Led light up bus advent calendar on my list for a while. Just got it for 27.40 instead of 34. Very happy. I am planing to put post it notes in it with clues leading to books, treats and hot wheels cars (not all the same day :))
Also finally got the amazon kids list code to work. The only thing I did diffently is logging in on PC rather than app.
I am done apart from lush bath bombs and bloody duplo. I got a box in asda sale, but need another set and I dont want to spend more that 15£ :)

butmumineedit · 27/11/2020 20:10

Can anyone recommend some artists brushes as my Secret Santa at work has as asked for art supplies. Have got some canvases from then range but need brushes and paint , thanks

alittleprogresseveryday · 27/11/2020 20:15

I managed to get the beauty box for £30 and noticed it went to £60 after I ordered. I think there was a code already applied that brought it down to £30 but I didn’t take notice of it at the time so don’t remember sorry. Just wanted to say thank you... looks like there’s some great items in it!

runningpink · 27/11/2020 20:16

Phew! Finally caught up! Stop being so fast at posting offers you lot!😂

Not had a chance to look for any suitable offers for Black Friday and I’m now too tired. Although from what’s been said here I do t think iv missed out on much!

LittleSquirrels · 27/11/2020 20:18

@TheLastStarfighter

I tried everything you said but its not working 😭😭 just double checking the code is KWL15? So bummed

Puffalicious · 27/11/2020 20:18

Thanks Iggy I almost ordered a coat on Mountain Warehouse the other day- now I have another tenner off of it! £200 cost for £90. Merry Christmas to me DH (although he doesn't know it yet!)

SpamIAm · 27/11/2020 20:21

@LittleSquirrels I wonder if you're not eligible until they actually email you the code

STARE2016 · 27/11/2020 20:22

I got the Vodafone chocolates a while back. Just opened the box and it came with a thank you code. VM2 gets you 20% off if you spend over £15. There looks like loads of chocolate-y gifts on there. My chocs came with a best before date of 11/21. Hope that helps someone! They've got lovely looking making/decorating kits too

LongWinterNights · 27/11/2020 20:23

If anyone is looking for Hotel Chocolat deals, Very have a good selection in their Black Friday sale, under Gifts. Apologies if already mentioned!

Arthien · 27/11/2020 20:23

Up to a half price gifts on Whistlefish including 40% off some lovely festive jute bags like this one

aimslou · 27/11/2020 20:23

@ClosedAuraOpenMind

I was done for DD but just bought her a Strong Girls Club sweatshirt from mutha hood which is having its annual sale. reduced from £28 to £20 so still quite pricy, but good quality - I have one of their sweats - and supports a UK small biz with an ethos built around empowering girls SmileSmile
Thanks for this, just ordered some bits for my 2 dd Smile
Rubyroo73 · 27/11/2020 20:24

Has anyone bought any personalised name necklaces? I thought I’d seen something (maybe not on here) with a deal two for one or buy one get 50% off second but can’t think where!
Any recommendations greatly received! Thanks x

TheLastStarfighter · 27/11/2020 20:25

@NaturalBlondeYeahRight After about 3 hrs of research, reading reviews, and watching youtube videos, we got one of each of these. They haven't arrived yet though, so I'm afraid I can't vouch for how good they are for real yet.

Hangrui£26.39 if you are a Prime member.

Zenoplige £19.99 (remember to tick the box to apply the coupon!)

The key things for me were for them to be mains powered, not just battery (youngest has a battery one, and it only lasts about a week). Also for it to have different functions and colours, and last but not least that the stars should look like actual stars, not just like a grid of dots.

Iwillneverbesatisfied · 27/11/2020 20:31

Tatty Devine for name necklaces, although I don't think there's any deals.

I have this one and I absolutely love it www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07TLNPL5H/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_3qRXEbD4M9ZYY?tag=mumsnetforu03-21

It has quite a few different modes that look absolutely gorgeous, comes with a remote and you can also play music through it. Really pleased with mine Smile

Scout2016 · 27/11/2020 20:33

Does anyone know anything about restaurant vouchers? For form Londoners, not so much chain places like zizzi I think, a bit posher. I know it seems a bit daft given the current climate but that's what they asked for.
Some we got previously were apparently a Big Hassle to use Hmm

truthlemon · 27/11/2020 20:33

I eventually have a (tiny) contribution!

A cheap scented candle that actually smells! I have loads of scented candles and they are so often a disappointment. This one seems to have a really good throw - I can smell it when I enter the room even if it has been out for a while. Glade Scented Candle on special, £2 at Wilkos here

SpnBaby1967 · 27/11/2020 20:40

Any suggestions on what to get for a sister I dont particularly get on with (not in a nasty way, she just has no time for me.....long story).

She has no hobbies other than eating, but is also SUPER fussy! She watches nothing but classic soap operas. Doesn't really drink, she is a large lady so clothes are a no go as I honestly wouldnt trust anything I get might fit. She likes candles and all the "live laugh love" type tacky stuff.

Budget, no more than £20. Oh and she's in her 40s.

Christmascaker · 27/11/2020 20:40

Thank you so much @FireflyGirl 40% off, what a bargain!!! I’m done now, I think I’m addicted to the bargains now though Grin

TheLastStarfighter · 27/11/2020 20:42

@LittleSquirrels does it look like this when you add stuff to the wish list?

It could be, like @SpamIAm says, that maybe you're not eligible until they mail the code. I think the code is valid until the 30th (not sure though), but the black friday reduction is only valid for a few more hours.

Thread 23 - the one where the shops are actually open again
Carrie76 · 27/11/2020 20:43

@LittleSquirrels the item has to be on the kids wish list for at least 24 hours before it works. There’s not that many things that can be added to it, it’s a bit hit and miss

JaneyJimplin · 27/11/2020 20:44

@SpnBaby1967 nice scented candle and dome chocolates?
