Thanks to @friskybivalves for the title

I think we might actually make it to 25 threads!!

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Here’s Barbarara’s instructions from last year on doing clicky links:

Open double square brackets
No space
Paste link
Space
Name of link
No space
Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

@lovemusic33 Cath Kidston have some nice handcreams, and matching sanitisers that smell lovely and don't dry out your hands.

Ruralretreating · 25/11/2020 12:30

Glad you got it @Lovemusic33! It’s nice to feel I’ve made a useful contribution to the thread to redeem myself after all the cancelled Fossil orders!

Sunshineskies · 25/11/2020 12:32

@Puffincrossing not sure if it’s what you’re looking for but my dc have one of the ikea scubb storage boxes for their pens and pads. Fits nicely under their beds.

Having ignored Matalan all season, I'm now desperate for stuff. Any codes around? Surely they must be doing something for BF?

PinkJam · 25/11/2020 12:52

@Sunshineskies Ooh thank you Smile that’s lovely. I think I might get that and the orchard games set. Even with both it would still be under budget.

Nekoness · 25/11/2020 12:58

For any Animal Crossing fans, I just received a sackful of adorable soft toys from this aliexpress seller. They arrived in 16 days, have original tags and no odd smells. Bloody adorable for less than £5 and only other place I saw them was on a US site for about £15 each

AWholeLottaRosie · 25/11/2020 12:59

@Puffincrossing try searching for 'cantilever art box' they're the type with folding out drawers, or maybe a fishing tackle box would suit?

TheSilentStars · 25/11/2020 13:05

Can't link because I'm on phone and the site keeps sending me back to the Italian version of Look Fantastic but there's a Clinique set on offer reduced to about £40 (it's better than half price) If you spend £50 something on Clinique, you also receive another free gift set worth about £70. So about £150 of Clinique for £50.
I shall purloin the Moisture Surge and give DD the rest.

AWholeLottaRosie · 25/11/2020 13:07

Anyone looking for decent single malt whisky or gin, Spirits Kiosk have 15% off this week plus 10% off if you sign to their newsletter plus 8.25% TopCashback, free delivery if over £50.

Thanks to you lovely people I think I have almost finished other than waiting for ASOS on Friday. All I need is something for my dad, he’s always hard to buy for as he tends to buy himself what ever he wants whenever he wants, he does like wearing awful shirts, his favourite being one with an octopus on it 🤨, is there anywhere on line I can buy him a hideous shirt to add to his collection?

Theonlyoneiknow · 25/11/2020 13:14

I use a trolley from Ikea/Hobbycraft @puffincrossing and then fill empty glass jars with different pens and pencil and use other drawers for paper and stickers etc.

Toy ideas for a 2 yo girl and a 7 yo boy please? No idea what those ages might be into anymore.

Also present ideas for someone who has really struggled this year with mental health, covid, a MC and family illness? Not the usual card and flowers shite either.

EnglishRose1320 · 25/11/2020 13:22

Sorry if this has been asked before but do Smyths toy store have any discounts floating around. Don't normally buy much from there but have over £50 worth of things in my basket atm and would love to try and get the price down a little. Cheers

Elpheba · 25/11/2020 13:24

I’ve been given a good suggestion for tricky to buy for FIL- montblanc legend. Allbeauty looks like best price and I’ve never used them. Does anyone have any better places for aftershave etc? I’ll look for a referral code on the thread

EnglishRose1320 · 25/11/2020 13:25

@Iwillneverbesatisfied what kind of budget were you thinking?

7yr old boy I'd be tempted with Lego, 2yr old girl, lovely Christmas book, maybe one of the gift sets that come with a teddy of one of the characters.

Friend that's had a tough year, a pamper hamper you've compiled yourself, hand cream/masks/luxury hot chocolates/super soft blanket, tailor it to there tastes and interests.

Iwillneverbesatisfied · 25/11/2020 13:28

£20 per child. Boy not interested in Lego. (tried that last year)

Pamper hamper sounds a good idea.

Adelais · 25/11/2020 13:31

Thought i was done but now remembered three more people to buy for!

If anyones looking for a gift for a toddler just seen this Melissa and Doug Latches board is only £9.74 on Amazon and seems to be popular amzn.to/3l0AEiV

unkindnessofravens · 25/11/2020 13:31

@Iwillneverbesatisfied what about an art/drawing hamper for the 7 yo. My DS loved drawing and art when he was that age and I picked up lots of supplies from Poundland etc to make a hamper one Christmas. Your £20 would go quite far

bettyskitchen · 25/11/2020 13:34

@Iwillneverbesatisfied what about The Boy The Mole The Fox and the Horse for your friend? If you're not familiar with it it's a lovely book with lots a lovely words and drawings to come back to. This is the author - www.instagram.com/charliemackesy/

Daisy829 · 25/11/2020 13:36

@Iwillneverbesatisfied does he like reading? The Guinean book of records was on amazon for £8 recently.

Iwillneverbesatisfied · 25/11/2020 13:40

No he doesn't like reading. He's my nephew. He likes football although he doesn't have a team that he supports (he plays in a local kids football club but not at the mo' due to Covid). I know he likes Marvel but he has everything to do with Marvel already.
