Evening!

New thread here. I'm pretty sure this one breaks all previous records!

Happy anniversary Wreck

I've been awake for a while - DD2 left for work at 6:30 so that woke me and then I dozed for a bit.

NoWordForFluffy · 21/11/2020 10:15

Happy anniversary, Wreck. Oops about forgetting though!

I've had a work crisis to sort today...woke at 7 as the heating came on to find a message from my manager about a file which isn't mine but I'd been helping to sort a specific issue for somebody else. So I've done 2 hours' work today and I'm now off to the post office to post some documents. She's said I can have time in lieu so that's good!

Morning

Happy Anniversary Wreck Smile

I am nursing a tender gum at the moment , had a tooth out yesterday (well the remains of the tooth that was in there) so it's a bit achey , not painful. Doing the salt water swigging and keeping my tongue out of it (or I really will heave!)

Yesterday was some Displacement Therapy Cleaning to keep my mind off the thought . Now I'm doing some random online browsing and watching Saturday Kitchen (bad idea , I am hungry Xmas Grin )

WreckTangled · 21/11/2020 11:07

That's a pain fluffy, at least it's sorted now and you can take the time back.

We've been given an extra half day off which has to be taken before the end of jan so I'm going to take it on the last day before the Christmas holidays.

I've just booked click and collects right up to Christmas including the 21st which I'm pleased with. I've decided it's worth the extra money for a bit to avoid Aldi. Maybe if I lived closer to supermarkets it wouldn't seem so bad but when there's an 80 minute round trip just to Aldi then having to go to Sainsbury's or Tesco on top of that and the time it takes to shop it's just all too much at the moment.

NoWordForFluffy · 21/11/2020 12:15

That sounds very sensible to me, Wreck! Time is a precious commodity.

We're just doing our Pre-Christmas big clean. The lounge is done (or my part; DH needs to put stuff back / vacuum). Cup of tea time then the dining room is to be tackled.

70, I hoe your mouth is better soon. DH had a tooth removed last year at the dental hospital as the roots were retained after the dentist had a go. He relied on the salt water rinse!

I've had a profitable afternoon. We wanted to make room for the Switch, so stuck a Humax box on eBay with a Buy it Now of £70, and it sold almost-instantly! I'm rather chuffed!

Afternoon everyone. Nice and dry today, DH went to Lidl and Sainsburys, bought my Christmas day meat, pretend salted caramel Baileys, some food for the stash, Christmas pressies for my niece and spent my £8 off voucher.

Well done Wreck and happy anniversary to you both.

MarshmallowManiac · 21/11/2020 16:47

Hope your gum recovers soon 70

CrazyBaubles · 21/11/2020 17:12

Happy anniversary Wreck

70 I haven't had a tooth out since I was a teen but may need one soon. How much pain does it cause please? I can't remember but I'm so nervous about it.

Fluffy I've had the opposite sort of day - I went to town shopping and out for lunch so it's been very spendy. I'm so close to being done for Christmas though - this is the year I will actually be done by December. Just MILs DH & 10yo nephew to find something for....

WreckTangled · 21/11/2020 17:47

70 hope your mouth feels better, having a tooth out is my worst nightmare.

I got hot oil on my jumper, bet it won't come out.

NoWordForFluffy · 21/11/2020 17:57

Try washing up liquid, Wreck. It breaks oils down by design.

YY washing up liquid , apply neat and work into the stain towards the middle not spreading it out wards .

Crazy not bad , I think the worry about it is worse . The injection was fine ( I'm ok with needles) it's the noise Shock . When my DD had two teeth removed for braces (perfectly good ones ) I asked that she have the numbing gel, and once her injection had worked she had headphones . She was fine . (DD doesn't like needles )

Eating takes an effort but it'll be ok .

I have ordered a Christmas Jumper , they are the most awkward things to buy . I want dark colours, no rude slogans , nothing about gin or prosecco. I decided on the Sainsbury Gingerbread Man jumper , it's cute but not blingey .

WreckTangled · 21/11/2020 18:18

It's splashed so it's everywhere! Will have a go but I'm not holding my breath.

NoWordForFluffy · 21/11/2020 18:19

I had two teeth out for a brace too, 70. I was knocked out with GA though, thankfully! Back in the day when they did such things. 😂

I had a broken wisdom tooth out just before lockdown - thankfully, as I'd been waiting 4 months by then! I did regular salt washes, and used corsodyl mouthwash (which I had anyway, as I'd been using it to keep down the infections from the broken tooth) and I honestly barely noticed it. Could be because I was in so much pain from it, anything was better!

He said it'd be 5-20 minutes to get it out, but it was out within about 20 seconds.

I haven't left the house except to go to medical appointments since the beginning of October. DM has sent me the Christmas food magazines for Asda and Lidl. She knows me so well Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 21/11/2020 21:07

Right, I am now DONE! I just bought a second microphone for the karaoke machine and 4 CDs from Music Magpie, as they love using DS' little CD player to listen to music around the house. So that's that.

Your mum did well, Firefly!

Morning!

Everyone is still asleep here...it's very strange and silent!

We were woken in the night a couple of times by shouty people outside the house. Very strange really as there isn't anywhere they could've been to, to have been walking home from!

DS was telling me that he wants to stay asleep until 9am today. I doubt he will, however! Chance would be a fine thing, in fact.

It's allotment day today. Carrying on clearing the raspberry cage. I've had a fork donated to me by another plot holder after mine snapped last week!

Morning. Dh wants to take the dc to the park this morning. I said if we go we have to go early because it'll be packed otherwise. Dh sees no issue going at 11 and it being busy but thankfully he knows I win Grin when we get home we need to do housework as the place is a tip, I blame DH as it stays clean all week when he's at work. He also loaded the dishwasher after dinner not realising that it had all the clean stuff in from breakfast and lunch. It was a bit funny but also really annoying because he couldn't fit everything in so there's still dinner stuff left on the side this morning Hmm

NoWordForFluffy · 22/11/2020 07:35

Our lounge is positively blissful at the moment, due to the cleaning and tidying yesterday. If I wasn't allotmenting I think we'd put the trees up today before it goes to pot again!

DH is very much a leaver of things in the way. Yesterday I'd put the laptop in a drawer, then later on it was back on the table. This was because DH had wanted a plastic postal bag from the drawer and had taken it out but not put it back. Ditto two bags on the floor! That's what my life is like all the while; I'm constantly asking 'Why's that there?' He gets pissed off and grumpy at me. My response: just put it away then! It's persistent. Xmas Angry

pussycatinboots · 22/11/2020 08:32

Morning.
Had a day of cleaning yesterday due to the cats - one missed the litter tray and one barfed everywhere I can only assume they'd been spooked by some bunker-buster fireworks that KnobheadNDN let off at about midnight.🤬 Prick.
DH is mainly tidy - except for crumbs - he never plumps the cushions on the sofa Xmas Grin and can't get the roman blind in the ensuite to come down evenly so it's always wonky when I go in there Hmm He also has a tendency to leave the biscuit barrel on the floor within his reach so I kick it next morning when it's dark.

WreckTangled · 22/11/2020 08:34

DH has put my jumper in the wash before I've had a chance to try the washing up liquid. Hmm

CrazyBaubles · 22/11/2020 09:15

Morning. We're being lazy and haven't got out of bed yet (although I've been awake since 7:30).
Mission today is to order last few bits so I can be done with my shopping.

Wreck annoying about your jumper but you can always try the washing up liquid once it's out of the wash.

puss your neighbour is a dickhead 😡

NerosFiddle · 22/11/2020 10:04

Morning.

I'm watching food network at the minute. I won't make anything but I love to watch.

Dd was up half the night. She kept thinking that she wet the bed, but she hadn't. Must have been some weird dream.

NoWordForFluffy · 22/11/2020 13:41

I'm knackered now. 2 and a bit hours of digging / tree chopping later! The raspberry cage probably needs another couple of hours spending on it. And I need to have a fire to burn the roots / bindweed roots I've dug out!

Boots' neighbour is definitely a prize dick. No doubts there.

How odd re your DD, Neros. Caffeine aplenty for you today!
