Apparently we getting snow on the 19th and 22nd of December. Shock

CrazyBaubles · 27/11/2020 18:12

I hope your day gets better Biddy

Ouch Fluffy, that looks painful!

Glad the news was good Woolly

I’ve checked the weather - I think the met office may be playing a joke on us all...

Also, my Matalan order came. Not impressed that they left it all outside my front door while I was walking the dog though!
Everything came except my festive earrings which are apparently out of stock and a set of earrings I was getting as a gift.
On the plus side, I’m not the owner of a cute pair of Christmas socks and some thermal, sparkly leggings Xmas Smile and a bobble hat

Crazy all my post gets left on my front door, I don't mind and it's a safe area but the delivery drivers from miles away don't know that my neighbour isn't a thief.

I need a new winter hat. I really struggle though because I've got a small head Grin need a kids one I think.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 27/11/2020 18:46

Wooly great results . I never have insomnia but I do still get the odd hot flush an I'm 5+ years into menopause .

We're forecast 8c down to -2c over Christmas so it'lll be drab and grey .

I went to M&S ( got the tin of shortbread with the smug looking stag on it) they have the nicest handgel, cinnamon scented , at the doors .

I'm just off to sort the Dec 1st Bags for DS and DD ( underwear, pjs, chocolate) then soak the fruit for the cake .
The weekend looks like it'll be tidying in preparation for Tuesday and putting some decorations up .

TheWoollybacksWife · 27/11/2020 18:46

Wreck if you are happy to wait a couple of weeks I am happy to knit you a hat. I've finished DD2's socks today and I need to allow 2 weeks to make DD1's but after that I'm available.

WreckTangled · 27/11/2020 19:25

No way woolly?! That would be so kind! I would make a donation to a charity of your choice for it

NoWordForFluffy · 27/11/2020 19:27

Loving the haul, Crazy! 🎅🏻🎄🎅🏻🎄

It took me ages to work out where the smell was coming from after using the M&S hand gel.

I can't believe how cold it is outside. Surely it's a bit chilly for now? Though I suppose it is almost December! 🥶🥶🥶

WreckTangled · 27/11/2020 19:30

Nooo the M&S hand gel is horrible! Unless they've changed it because the one I've used is overbearing floral not cinnamon. I like cinnamon.

TheWoollybacksWife · 27/11/2020 19:58

Thank you everyone for your good wishes about my tests being clear. I am going to put my phone in a different room now as alcohol is being consumed and I may be tempted to buy half of Amazon before the night is done and I am avoiding the Twitch.

Wreck PM me with your head circumference - put the tape measure above your eyebrows and go around your ears. This will give the widest measurement. I'll have a look what yarn I have tomorrow - I know I've definitely got a whole ball of grey/white mix and a whole ball of pistachio green but I may have some brighter colours. I'll post photos and you can pick.

BiddyPop · 27/11/2020 20:23

Evening has got better, urgent deadlines met, boss happy, dd home and ok form, have all enjoyed a Nando’s, and as DH wants beer, I have a bottle of white wine to myself 😳😄 - don’t worry, I won’t finish it because I have Cubs in the morning...but better!

ConstantlyCooking · 27/11/2020 20:51

4 weeks ? How did that happen ?
It is v frosty here this morning so it feels as if I should be preparing for Christmas.
I ordered DH's main present yesterday with the White Company Black Friday offer.

MarshmallowManiac · 27/11/2020 21:07

Nearly finished buying all the DC's mains, hopefully will finish it this weekend. Now to concentrate on posting gifts and cards and the wrapping of all the presents. Hoping to put our outside lights up on Sunday, and buying our tree next weekend, feeling festive. [santa]

BiddyPop · 27/11/2020 22:54

Oops, I might have finished the bottle. 😳 luckily it is outdoors in the morning 🤫🤫

BiddyPop · 27/11/2020 22:56

And the toy show is the usual mixture of fun and shmaltz - the dance sene at the start in the library is where I usually sit on hard wooden pews for statistical lectures ....a bit more fun with the dancing!

BiddyPop · 27/11/2020 22:56

Nah, can’t just be 4 weeks, can it?!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 27/11/2020 23:54

Oops, I might have finished the bottle

Tsk, big glass of water before bedtime Biddy Xmas Wink

I went on the M&S site and found the Christmas handtowels back in stock so ordered a pair ( I checked every online site I could think of but nothing grabbed me )
.

Morning all.
Biddy I hope the head is as clear as it can be after a bottle of wine Xmas Shock
Woolly glad you've had good news from the consultant.
It's damp here, it was supposed to be frosty. I wonder if there will be any daylight today.

NoWordForFluffy · 28/11/2020 08:24

It was 14.3° in the lounge this morning. Brrrr! 🥶🥶🥶 We've reached 16.1° now. Balmy. 🌴

Sounds like us yesterday, Boots. Grey murkiness all day.

Morning all,

looks like we'll be moving house in two weeks Xmas Shock

M is going to write to Santa with our new address just in case he's not sure where her new house is. I've said to the removals firm that the decs have to be the last thing on the lorry and the first thing off!

Stress level is high here

NoWordForFluffy · 28/11/2020 08:47

Bloody hell, lachy! My blood pressure would be through the roof. Good luck!

When are you exchanging? That the worst bit; the wait for it to be official.

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 28/11/2020 08:52

How exciting lachy!

Thanks woolly I'll do that in a bit. I know my measurement without my ears but not with so will get the tape measure out.

Biddy hope you have some nice unhealthy salty food to get you though the day Grin

The money requests from school have started coming in for the PTA. So far I've got two number square tickets and two secret present room tickets for the dc. We need to take in donations for hampers on Friday in exchange for own clothes and also there'll be raffle tickets for those we will need to buy. Have also just ordered the dc a Christmas lunch as they like to have that (usually have packed lunch). I'm sure there'll be a WhatsApp message soon about teacher gifts I don't mind though as it saves me having to do it.

This weekend we need to film DD's next piano exam. Her teacher said to send her the best ones and she will pick which to submit.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 28/11/2020 08:56

Goodness lachy that is close to the wire. Good plan re the Christmas decorations.

I was awake early this morning so decided to wrap the presents. Watching Home Alone at the same time.

pussycatinboots · 28/11/2020 09:29

lachy, do you need to redecorate? or is it ready to move in to? When we moved here (in a murky November) I took a week to repaint every wall white then cream it was every shade of green lime, apple, jade It killed my eyes, try painting cream over white when it's essentially dark all day🤦🏻‍♀️😵😁 Good Luck 🤞🏻

ConstantlyCooking · 28/11/2020 09:52

Hope you are feeling ok this morning Biddy.
70 I bought the stag shortbread for our Christmas Eve box.
Lacey - it sounds stressful but on the plus side you'll have Christmas in your new place and unless you're in tier 1 no visitors until Christmas at the earliest !
Great news about the results Woolly !
Last night after walk I walked down Regent's St, New Bond St (passing the Burlington Arcade) to Fortnums. With the lights and the cold air - it was v festive. I felt as if I was in a Christmas video Xmas Grin
