New thread here. I'm pretty sure this one breaks all previous records!

Nero It sounds like a cold. something that fluffy has spread far and wide 😉🤧 I hope she's feeling better now.
Biddy I thought initially your DH was a baseball fan Blush Chicago Cubs oops. Grumpy oversleepers are annoying. Be grateful you got a lie-in.
We're having a 🦃 dinner today, DH thought it would be a good idea after watching the West Wing with the pardoned turkeys 🤔
Not sure he's really got the right idea there...
It's such a lovely clear day. Can we keep this until the Hallmark snow on Christmas Eve I've put a request in 😂😂

NoWordForFluffy · 26/11/2020 11:24

Ah, I posted without refreshing!

I hope your DD is OK, Neros.

I haven't actually coughed since waking up, so it's not a consistent cough, just a few coughs when I first woke.

I recall you fainting in the bathroom, Why!

BiddyPop · 26/11/2020 11:46

Firefly, you could use turkey in the stirfry to mark the day!! (DD uses a lot of sliced or diced turkey generally these days, because it's "healthy"!)

Boots Xmas Grin re Chicago Cubs!! We've never been to a baseball game, but we have (endured!!) an American football game in the past - they are loooonnnnnggggg!

BiddyPop · 26/11/2020 11:47

Good luck for your DD Neros, and glad your DD got a negative Marshmallow.

NerosFiddle · 26/11/2020 12:03

Biddy I loved in Illinois for university. You do not want to sit through a base game either. It's a whole day of passing food along a row.

Marshmallow glad your dd got the all clear.

Boots and fluffy I think it's just a cold because she's been sneezing and has a runny nose. Me and ds have been sneezing for a few days too but not as bad as her. Her temp was only 37.8 which is the board line for a test.

NerosFiddle · 26/11/2020 12:24

Fire last time the results were within 11 hours but I'm not expecting it that quick again.

WreckTangled · 26/11/2020 12:45

Thanks for the birthday wishes for ds. He just wants a kfc and Christmas chronicles 2 tonight which I'm happy to do Grin

We're tier 2 as are all surrounding counties so that's good I suppose.

That's a pain neros I know some people whose dc have had to have loads of tests. Our ones are work are arriving this week and the result is 30 mins.

Enjoy thanksgiving biddy!

pussycatinboots · 26/11/2020 13:07

Biddy & Nero DH watched the Blue Jays (2 days running) when he visited Toronto and has been a fan ever since. He quite enjoyed not leaving his seat to queue for food/drinks.
A former colleague had a massive crush on Joe Montana, she had a 6" cardboard cut out that she brought back from her holiday carefully folded in her suitcase and a massive poster next to her desk (49ers? even though she visited Florida and was a Packers fan🤔) I don't understand American Football, too much padding and no BOD 😉

MarshmallowManiac · 26/11/2020 13:09

Thanks Biddy & Neros she was very happy.

That sounds like a great evening Wreck, we're in bloody tier 3 Sad glad to hear you're only in tier 2

WreckTangled · 26/11/2020 13:23

Yes my sister lives in Kent. Apparently she knows loads of people with Covid.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 26/11/2020 13:55

I have fainted on several occasions Fluffy but yes monumentally in the bathroom, once when I lived at the parents house and dad offered to carry me back to bed (that is a no from me) and once here where I hit my head on the kids step for the toilet/sink and woke up to H asking me what year it was!!!

pussycatinboots · 26/11/2020 14:04

why don't be embarrassed - I called an ambulance for DH when he fainted apparently, they can't find much more wrong with him but for his dodgy ECG and slightly raised troponin, he wouldn't have been in hospital for 3 days.🤦🏻‍♀️ He did have form for fainting in the ensuite, but doesn't remember anything.

CrazyBaubles · 26/11/2020 14:07

No 🦃 here but I am doing a roast for tea. Was meant to be a ‘mini’ one (pork chops, roasties, veg, bisto) but in honour of thanksgiving I’m doing real gravy, stuffing, mash and cauliflower cheese too.

Biddy & Neros DH likes to watch some form of sport if we go to America. He has so far dragged me to an American football game (it went on and on and on so I wandered around the merchandise stands, got drinks and hot dogs and spent a lot of time watching the cheerleaders), and a baseball game (we left halfway through because it felt like nothing was happening).
I also went willingly to a hockey game and thoroughly enjoyed it.

DH is now an American football fan so he takes over the living room on Sunday night to watch it while zooming with his friends who are doing the same 🙄

puss I prefer rugby - AF it seems to be all go go go then it all stops suddenly 🤷‍♀️

Why BP issues here so have done my fair share of fainting - in work once too which was v embarrassing - literally stood up from my desk and went - was lucky I sort of flopped backwards towards my seat rather than forward into the desk Blush
I did panic DH once by getting a nosebleed in the shower and fainting as I got out. I hit my head on the radiator and obviously ended up covered in blood. DH heard the thud and thought I’d suffered some sort of catastrophic head injury. Ambulance was called and everything 🙄

Hope your dd feels better soon Neros

Wreck I like your DS’s style!

Also... I’m still on track to finish work at 4 👍🏻

MarshmallowManiac · 26/11/2020 14:40

In my area it's not too bad Wreck ,I know quite a few people with Covid too though. But where I work and surrounding areas are really grim at the moment. Sad

Oh no Why I have also fainted from low BP too.

pussycatinboots · 26/11/2020 16:19

Crazy sorry about your DH and his 🏈 I tried to watch the Superbowl once, but lost interest before it actually began 😁 Enjoy your tea. Not had colley cheese for ages.😋

NoWordForFluffy · 26/11/2020 18:51

I've never even bothered to watch AF. Not my thing. I like rugby union, not league, and that's it for odd-shaped balls!

I've only fainted twice. Once a full on unconscious faint, but standing up as I was front row at a Muse gig and propped up by the crowd. Second time when I was pregnant and had a funny faint turn on the train, thankfully sitting down. I must've looked ropey as the woman opposite asked it I was OK! I got to Liverpool, went to the top of the escalator to tell my boss I was unwell, went back downstairs and onto the next train home! Not good!

I finished work at 6.30. I wanted to play catch up before my day off tomorrow. I didn't get done, but I'm in a way better place than first thing today! The systems being shit earlier cost me almost as long as I worked extra, I think. Annoying. Thank god for WFH.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 26/11/2020 19:44

No Sports Wiv Balls here (of any shape) DS used to play rugby but DH doesn't watch any sports.

I've managed to order my M&S pants

Taking DH out shopping tomorrow , we traditionally book a day to go out together . If he's really lucky I'll get him a Greggs Vegan Sausage Roll - don't say I don't treat him Xmas Grin

CrazyBaubles · 26/11/2020 20:33

Ooh you should definitely get some wife points for that 70

I’m so pleased - I logged off at 4:04 exactly. Cooked a feast (sprouts with bacon for DH, cauli cheese for me, roasties, mash (normal and sweet potato), pork shops, stuffing, carrots (roast for DH, steamed for me), green beans and gravy) 😋 We’re stuffed and have enough for tomorrow too. Have also done the kitchen, fed the dog, done a load of washing and just completed the family quiz - came second again 😩

Had confirmation that my Matalan order has been dispatched with one thing cancelled (a set of earrings which were for the Secret Santa child I’m buying for) but I’ve got plenty for her already. Ah, I just want to be done!

TheWoollybacksWife · 26/11/2020 20:37

DH is a football, rugby league and cricket fan and I tend to watch most of the sport with him - it's background noise while I knit/crochet and MN.

Happy birthday to your DS Wreck hope he's had a good one.

Firefly I get bouts of vertigo (BPV) every couple of years since DS was born. The worst one was about 3 years ago when we were away in Italy and flying home was not much fun. Hope you feel better soon.

Fluffy I hope your cold dries up soon. I recommend whisky and hot lemonade. My mum used to add a Beecham's Powder too 😷

FOUR WEEKS!!!

Morning. Awake early again. No clue why. Could be peri menopause, I suppose!

Day off today. And I've so much to do I don't know where to start! I'm meant to be wrapping, but there's stuff I need to do in the garden too. We shall see!

Woolly, that concoction sounds lethal! 😂😂

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 27/11/2020 07:04

Morning. Four weeks?! Omg.

It's only going to get up to 6° here today I think. Dd is crying she doesn't want to go to school as her throat hurts. Ds said she was snoring all night. Wwyd? I want to tell her to stop moaning and take some paracetamol Grin but maybe that's because I like my Friday on my own Grin

I had kfc last night and after weeks and weeks of low carb it's made me feel awful. I had to go to bed at 8 with the worst headache.

NoWordForFluffy · 27/11/2020 07:37

How does her throat look? If it looks red and painful I'd probably keep her off. But my throat is my weak point and I know how agonising it can be. I used to get regular throat infections at her age.

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 27/11/2020 07:39

Yes you're right I should have said her throat looks fine to me. I think it's probably just worse this morning as it's first thing and she has probably been sleeping with her mouth open.

NoWordForFluffy · 27/11/2020 07:43

Yeah. Hard to judge illness first thing as it's always worse on waking up!

Dose her up and send her off!

OP posts:
NerosFiddle · 27/11/2020 08:04

Morning.

Good news, dd test came back negative. It's just a bad cold.

Can't believe it's only 4 weeks. I need to get myself in gear. Haven't made a start on my Christmas cards and now we're back in lockdown for another 2 weeks at least.

Wreck if it looks ok and she has no temp or cough send her in.

Fluffy it's the excitement for Christmas that's waking you up 😂

Woolly how do you hear the lemonade? It's inevitable I'm going to get this cold too.
