Just that really, if you have anything at all in the morning / before the dinner, what is it?

Opinionatedfreak . My dad was a great cook also . Just get through it as best as you can 💐

Pinktornado · 10/11/2020 20:07

Blinis with cream cheese and smoked salmon, plus lashings of cava 😋

FurForksSake · 10/11/2020 20:08

I make cinnamon buns from scratch, they are epic, plus waitrose frozen croissants and pastries, fruit salad and bucks fizz. Plus a finger of fudge in the kitchen when no one is looking.

Sheknowsaboutme · 10/11/2020 21:59

Not much as we eat at 1pm

Toast, cereal, bagel, smoked salmon.

HeronLanyon · 10/11/2020 22:10

Pannetone. Toasted or not. Buck’s Fizz or straight champagne.

Herbertzlinger · 10/11/2020 22:11

Pate on cold toast with thick butter

FrancisCross · 10/11/2020 22:22

Panettone, warmed, with fresh coffee 😊

Mustbethewine · 10/11/2020 22:38

Kids are making chocolate chip cookies and chocolate covered shortbread on Christmas eve so might just have them on Christmas morning 😂 I usually do a French toast casserole and a sausage casserole casserole. Prepare them the night before and whack them in the oven while we're opening presents. Minimal effort!

@Wroxie

We have something called breakfast casserole - basically a savoury bread pudding. You cook crumbled sausages out of their skins, mushrooms, and diced onions and peppers, and mix together in a big baking dish with big torn chunks of sourdough bread and grated cheese (emmenthal and cheddar mix is my fave). Pour over eggs mixed with single cream, salt, and pepper, and keep in the fridge overnight. It goes in the oven covered for an hour and then uncovered for 30-45 minutes in the morning. I like it better than the main Christmas meal, to be honest.
I like the sounds of this, can have it ready evening before. I had luxury bread and butter pudding for christmas breakfast one morning, had baileys in and salted caramel chunks and was heavenly

We have croissants with bacon. It was my husband's request over ten years ago and although I'd probably prefer smoked salmon it just feels traditional now.

Rhythmisadancer · 11/11/2020 09:37

smoked salmon, scrambled eggs and bucks fizz - I love Christmas morning!

maddy68 · 11/11/2020 09:40

Smoked salmon and cream cheese bagals or warm croissants are what we have

ArtichokeAardvark · 11/11/2020 09:46

Croissants and champagne. I always get a jar of Fortnums lemon curd in my stocking so that gets opened - it's unbelievably good but so overpriced that it's a once a year treat Grin

Happierwithouthim · 11/11/2020 09:56

Croissants seem to be very popular, and I do like them. We have dinner early because I want to have it with dc before they go away, I don't usually have my dessert until later on my own though.

Deelish75 · 11/11/2020 11:48

Coffee, fruit juice, cereal, fruit, croissants and pain au chocolat. Start on the champagne at about 10am. Lunch is about 1pm.

Bacon and egg butties for breakfast on Boxing Day.

Simplyunacceptable · 11/11/2020 12:12

Freshly baked croissants, pain au chocolat and cinnamon rolls. Usually get the frozen or jus- rol ones. Fresh coffee for DH and I, milkshake and fresh juice from the milkman for the DC.

We don’t eat lunch so usually just give the DC chocolate and cheese to snack on before dinner at 5 which is obviously huge.

ColouringPencils · 11/11/2020 16:56

We have a lazy morning, brunch at about 11 and then go out for a big walk. We don't eat dinner until the evening. For brunch we have things like fruit salad, croissants and a full English. Nice juice and coffee. I like being able to be greedy twice in one day Smile.

golddustwomen · 11/11/2020 17:35

We have philly bagels and croissants with jam. Cups of tea and orange juice. Champagne gets opened around 11am when my dad and step mom get here, kids and I are also well into the chocolate by then. Dinner is around 3pm.

popcorndiva · 11/11/2020 19:42

DS gets a croissant with jam and some strawberries and melon

I have Bucks fizz and a salmon and cream cheese bagel

HerFlowersToLove · 11/11/2020 19:43

Selection box and bucks fizz Grin

Pasithea · 11/11/2020 19:45

Smoked salmon champagne. Eggs royal.e.

SaveWaterDrinkGin · 11/11/2020 19:49

Pancakes with bacon and maple syrup and Buck’s Fizz.

purplecorkheart · 11/11/2020 20:00

I am not a breakfast person so tend to grab a slice of toast. Tend to have canapes (not homemade) around lunch time and then dinner around 6pm to 7pm.

Jen8888 · 11/11/2020 20:18

Pastries and champagne (none for me this year)

Or Eggs Benedict

Or smoked salmon/scrambled egg on lovely fresh toast

Currently riddled with morning sickness and unable to eat anything I'm praying by Christmas I feel normal again and can eat.

wendz86 · 11/11/2020 20:22

Panettone usually and chocolate out of stockings. Might do something fanicer this year as will be just my parents and me as kids are at their dads till lunchtime.
