Just that really, if you have anything at all in the morning / before the dinner, what is it?

OP posts:

Vicliz24 · 10/11/2020 14:44

Christmas tree crumpets!

Whathappenedtothelego · 10/11/2020 14:53

Continental breakfast (rolls, cheese, salami, jam) with the addition of panettone and cinnamon and pecan Danish pastries.

happylittlechick · 10/11/2020 14:54

Toasted tea cakes and orange juice and tea. My daughter has been asking for croissants so might give it a go this year.

81Byerley · 10/11/2020 15:05

Scrambled eggs and smoked salmon on toast with Champagne or Buck's Fizz.

laudemio · 10/11/2020 15:07

Pork pie on toast?!

Love the sound of sausage rolls

whatever1980 · 10/11/2020 15:09

Kedgeree and Buck's Fizz

FourTeaFallOut · 10/11/2020 15:11

Cinnamon swirls and bucks fizz.

JollyAndBright · 10/11/2020 15:13

Freshly baked (just rol) croissants and cinnamon swirls for DP and DS
and (part baked) crusty bread rolls with cashew cream cheese and chilli jam for me.

With some really good festive blend coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice.

thistimelastweek · 10/11/2020 15:17

Bagels with cream cheese and smoked salmon and a glass of Bucks Fizz.

UndertheCedartree · 10/11/2020 15:22

We have pastries with orange juice or Bucks Fizz.

Autumnblooms · 10/11/2020 15:23

Chocolate...I thought that was the law!?

movingonup20 · 10/11/2020 15:25

Smoked salmon and cream cheese bagels

AlwaysLatte · 10/11/2020 15:26

Smoked salmon, scrambled eggs and rocket with soda bread and proper Buck's Fizz. We keep it light as we normally eat Christmas lunch at 2.00 and my two boys gorge on the chocolate goodies from their stockings. We don't ever have a starter but do have a lot of dishes with the main meal. We're normally so full that supper is usually something small like baked Camembert and figs (boys hate it so they might have a turkey sandwich) followed by Christmas pudding - lots of warm brandy to set it alight. My favourite day of the year for food!

actiongirl1978 · 10/11/2020 15:26

Eggs benedict and champagne. I do have coffee first thought whilst we open presents. Breakfast is usually at about 8am as presents are all open by 6.30am..

Lunch (this year fillet of beef) usually about 1.30pm.

We are never anywhere but home, my parents join us mid morning.

thenightsky · 10/11/2020 15:27

As little as possible. We like to save ourselves for everything that's to come later. We usually just have a glass of bucks fizz and/or a pot of tea.

LubaLuca · 10/11/2020 15:29

Toasted panettone and a mimosa. I normally start on the selection box at breakfast too.

Dannii2531 · 10/11/2020 15:33

Bacon sarnies. The bacon is cooked on the turkey overnight in the oven so we don't have to cook anything Christmas morning and put into stottie. Grin

UnbeatenMum · 10/11/2020 15:33

Pain au chocolats fairly early with the children
I like smoked salmon on toast with champagne/prosecco at about 11 but my family aren't bothered.

merryhouse · 10/11/2020 15:36

Croissants and smoked salmon (with added Marmite for weirdo S1) with chocolate spread as optional alternative. Buck's fizz - or lemonade equivalent - with freshly-squeezed oranges.

When I was growing up it was pork pie (Leicestershire). Plus whatever we'd eaten from stockings - probably tangerine and chocolate coins. Which is why when we spent Christmas away for the last couple of years I took those three things to eat in the morning.

S1 and his fellow choral scholars have a massive cooked breakfast (though we still don't know what's happening this year). Far as I remember, S2 and his granny had pains au chocolat.

afaloren · 10/11/2020 15:41

Bacon sandwich with Buck’s Fizz here, and usually some chocolate orange too Grin

PumpkinsPatch · 10/11/2020 15:44

Bacon sandwiches usually.

Last year I did a puff pastry and Nutella twist thing.

My husband tends to start early with an entire toblerone so he wasn't too keen on the pastry as I think the bacon sandwich quells his nausea enough to be able to start on the Ferrero Rocher mid morning.

I'm not sure I can be arsed with bacon this year. May get some pastries.

Oreservoir · 10/11/2020 15:44

Cold ham, Baxter's tomato chutney and bread and butter. Always.
