Just that really, if you have anything at all in the morning / before the dinner, what is it?

OP posts:

Big fluffy buttery Lidl croissants (the DC and my parents complain if they're from elsewhere because they're not as good!) with butter and sour cherry jam. Champagne or tea depending on preference.

Babypug · 10/11/2020 15:51

Champagne, biscuits, chocolate - it's Christmas so anything goes!

DreadingSeason2020sFinale · 10/11/2020 15:56

Bacon butty made with buttery toast.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 10/11/2020 15:57

Bacon sandwiches, and cups of tea. We tend to have canape type things about 3, then the full meal at 5.

Figgyboa · 10/11/2020 15:58

Warm croissants with jam. And off course champagne!

goose1964 · 10/11/2020 16:03

Mince pies whilst opening presents, stems from big family Christmases when th kids were small. Proper breakfast smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, or bacon for DD and DSiL as they don't like smoked salmon. Drinks vary between Orange juice to cava via bucks fizz.

JellyBabiesSaveLives · 10/11/2020 16:03

Chocolate, usually.

We used to have croissants but dh tends to make a big production about heating them up and then complains that the teenagers aren’t awake or don’t want them. So I stopped buying them. And he doesn’t know how the Christmas food magically appears in the fridge so that’s that.

I do like the idea of sausage rolls.

meow1989 · 10/11/2020 16:06

My dad makes us scrambled egg (on the hob) and bacon on toast, and we have bucks fizz or orange juice.

AriesTheRam · 10/11/2020 16:06

Bacon baguettes or smoked salmon and phili bagel

mongoosebaby · 10/11/2020 16:10

Cadbury selection box and mint Bailey's

@TeaOneSugar

The upside of divorce was being able to reset the Christmas dynamics, so we're now at home for the day and we have time for breakfast. We don't do anything fancy or anything that creates loss of dirty dishes. DD likes those cinnamon rolls in a can you cut and bake or I get Panettone and we have it toasted with Nutella. Nigellas Christmas morning muffins also go down well and can be part prepared the night before.
As above the upside of separation means it doesn't have to be a fry up Christmas morning. Dc normally opt for pancakes and I might join them or else have my usual favourite poached eggs on a bagel/wholegrain toast. Bacon in a baguette sounds good too since I discovered you can bake petit pains in the actifry in minutes and they're delicious!

This thread comes around every year and I love it! Grin
In our house it's usually fresh baked cinnamon swirls for the kiddos (and we'll pinch one) and croissants or bagels with cream cheese and Serrano ham for me and dp has peanut butter on his.
Coffee early on then I might have a Buck's Fizz early if we're going to in-laws but this year not sure what the plan is so dp might not have to drive and join me for a Buck's Fizz or Irish coffee!

MotherOfUnicorns4 · 10/11/2020 16:13

Toasted bagel with cream cheese, smoked salmon, a little bit of scrambled egg and a Mimosa to wash it down!

carolebaskinfedhimtothetigers · 10/11/2020 16:14

Croissants, chocolates/biscuits and Buck's Fizz about 10am here and then Christmas dinner 3/4pm

Shufflebumnessie · 10/11/2020 16:15

This will be the first Christmas it's just the 4 of us so I'm thinking chocolate for the children and pain au chocolat/cinnamon rolls/chocolates with bucks Fizz for DH & I.

If restrictions allow, we're going to the in-laws for Christmas day #2 on Boxing day. They are doing a fry up for 9.30am which will be delicious, so I'm looking forward to that.

GeorgiaGirl52 · 10/11/2020 16:18

Hot cocoa, blueberry muffins and apple fritters.

DryRoastPeanut · 10/11/2020 16:19

Something light, I don’t want to spoil Christmas day lunch.

Something like boiled eggs or scrambled eggs, croissants, Buck’s Fizz, coffee.

Runnerduck34 · 10/11/2020 18:47

Croissants, quick easy and not too filling so room for xmas dinner

laudemio · 10/11/2020 18:49

Gosh I would love a hot chocolate now, one from the work cafe.

sapnupuas · 10/11/2020 18:52

Cinnamon buns here

Hopefully with a glass of something fizzy.

Dmtush · 10/11/2020 18:54

Full English, we don’t eat Christmas dinner until 4/5pm so don’t have lunch

YesILikeItToo · 10/11/2020 18:55

Scotch pancakes (drop scones). DD and I make the batter while we are waiting for DM to get out of bed. Then we go upstairs together see if Father Christmas has been while the batter rests. This perfect study in time and motion pleases me very much.

mbosnz · 10/11/2020 19:02

We next eat around 3pm'ish, so we have eggs benedict with smoked salmon, with bucks fizz. Then we drop all pretensions and move on to straight bubbles. Well, I do.

PrincessMaryaBolkonskaya · 10/11/2020 19:05

@mongoosebaby

Cadbury selection box and mint Bailey's
Can I ask how much creme du menthe you add to your baileys? What ratio am I aiming for?
CosyQueen · 10/11/2020 19:07

Pigs in blankets sandwiches (basically we use just nice sausages wrapped in bacon rather than the little prepared ones you can buy ready made)
