One thing I love at Christmas is hearing what very young children are asking for. Those little people who's imaginations know no boundaries.

Some of the most memorable I've heard are a real live hippopotamus like at the zoo, a guitar with a stick it took the parents a bit of effort to twig the meant a violin, a pink duck, and a red wheelbarrow.

What funny things have you heard of little kids asking for?

My 8yr old DD has put explosives on her list this year! Something to do with the cat next door Confused

OohKittens · 10/11/2020 22:40

When he was 5 youngest son asked for a case of lipbalms. It was his best present.

adarkwhisperinthewoodwasheard · 10/11/2020 23:00

DD this year has asked for a star. Not a picture or decoration. Not a toy. A massive ball of burning gases like the one our planet orbits

And Santa. She wants to have ^the^ Santa to keep.

I fear she may be disappointed

Bikingbear · 10/11/2020 23:23

Lipbalms honestly some kids ask for the simplest things and marginally more do able than a Star and Santa himself.

The Star is up there with the Hippo, real live hippo like at the zoo.

I've really loved reading all these, thank-youSmile Please keep them coming. It's the pure innocence and imagination of these wee people it just makes it so amazing.

My two year old asked for Socks last year, even when we went to see Father Christmas he asked him for socks. funnily enough On Christmas morning he wasn’t bothered about his socks at all.

One of mine asked for a mobility scooter because he got tired walking to school.

The other asked for a woodpecker that year. When I asked why he said, ‘because I like woodpeckers’.

Imsayingnothing · 11/11/2020 09:41

@Widdendream77 my daughter has asked for these this year but I hope she's not disappointed because instead of real snails I've got her one of these. . totallytoytastic.com/products/sticky-snail-toy?_pos=1&_sid=e7010058d&_ss=r

MrBloomsLeftVeg · 11/11/2020 09:57

A contour gage aged 5. Probably still her favourite possession 4 years later. She spends a lot of time measuring our walls 🤷‍♀️

OMG thank you so much. You are amazing! I have searched and searched and couldn't find any with a key! You are brilliant. I have purchased and it will be in her stocking from Santa.

Straysocks · 11/11/2020 10:27

David Attenborough. The man himself. Every Christmas and birthday for 3 years.

Choccyp1g · 11/11/2020 10:39

Friends daughter aged 3 asked for a horse. Parents explained that they couldn't have a horse as they had nowhere to keep it.
Daughter immediately crossed out horse and replaced it with "a field".

BabyMoonPie · 11/11/2020 11:04

@ramblingsonthego you're welcome and I hope she likes it!

BigCityLife · 11/11/2020 11:13
