Anyone else waiting to hear? Completely see the point of wanting to reduce footfall but will be pretty disappointed if we can't use the scheme this year. This year is getting on my nerves now!

No, you have to go to a physical store. It's quite archaic really!

myhobbyisouting · 09/11/2020 16:13

I've tried to click the countdown to Christmas and I also get an error message. Wonderful. Wednesday will be fun

NoWordForFluffy · 09/11/2020 17:32

I don't have a countdown to Christmas on mine! How odd. 🤔

myhobbyisouting · 09/11/2020 17:47

I lie. Its count UP to Christmas. Note the error message at the bottom...

I don't have that either! Clearly I'm not worthy of the extra points. Xmas Sad

bookish83 · 09/11/2020 17:54

My app has been working fine. Maybe it is just a glitch x

I haven't used the double up before, is it usually a mad rush on the day that you can spend them? Or is it quite relaxed? I don't shop until a Friday usually but don't want to miss out 😬

NoWordForFluffy · 09/11/2020 20:51

I've never noticed the shop being any busier than usual. Customer services used to be when they had to convert the points, but now they don't, I don't think you'd notice a difference.

EasilyDepleted · 09/11/2020 21:18

I've never noticed it being busier either, but I go in the evening when it's quiet. You sometimes see another person with a trolley full of wine, clothes books and no food but no busier than usual.

Winewednesday · 09/11/2020 21:38

That is good to know, thank you both

NoWordForFluffy · 10/11/2020 11:23

So what's everyone getting in Double Up?

I'm after:

An iron;
A kettle;
Printer ink;
Booze; and
Children's socks and tights.

Blankiefan · 10/11/2020 17:58

I want some Xmas bedding. I can never justify spending real money on it but given that's its "free"... 🎄

NoWordForFluffy · 10/11/2020 18:36

Ooh. Good call, @Blankiefan!

buckeejit · 10/11/2020 20:13

I have only bought wine to date apart from 2 years ago when it got me a great discount on a switch. Not sure if there's anything other than wine to float my boat this year...."

EasilyDepleted · 10/11/2020 20:19

Games for the Switch? I did that last year.

NoWordForFluffy · 10/11/2020 20:32

@EasilyDepleted

Games for the Switch? I did that last year.
That's getting harder now due to Argos being in store. They keep a paltry selection or have labels telling you to buy from Argos.
EasilyDepleted · 10/11/2020 20:38

Oh, that's annoying. The book section in ours has been more or less squeezed out to make space for Argos too.

NoWordForFluffy · 10/11/2020 20:47

I'm kicking myself for not checking the general 'non-food' stock out when I went across to Liverpool for my flu jab the other week. I've no idea if there is enough choice to make it worthwhile (though we have no small electricals here, so I'd think it has to be better than that!).

HintOfVintagePink · 10/11/2020 22:42

Planning to head to Sainsbury’s tomorrow evening and use the helpful tip to request the vouchers via the app only when I have what I want to buy in the basket!
Planning to use the vouchers on wine and bubbles and possibly a few Christmas clothes for the children. I’ve seen some beautiful bits in the Tu range.

BigSandyBalls2015 · 11/11/2020 07:50

I’ve just converted my points ... £100 🙌🎉

catsarebetterthandogs9 · 11/11/2020 08:00

Does anyone know if we can do 2 vouchers?

I've got over the max £100 in points but I'm not sure I want £200 of vouchers. If I double up £50 to £100 then decide I do actually want the other £50 doubling can I do that?

Never done this before and I don't get phone signal in or near my sainsburys Sad

catsarebetterthandogs9 · 11/11/2020 08:04

Ignore me. I misread the app, thought I was exchanging £50 of points not buying a £50 voucher so can only buy a £100 voucher anyway!

NoWordForFluffy · 11/11/2020 08:16

I'll convert any more I need in store later on. I have £110 (£100 from DH's card and I converted a test fiver up to a tenner on mine to check we could use both cards) in paper vouchers. I'll probably need another £30>£60, I think.

(I hate dropping below £100 in points, which is daft, as they're there specifically to spend! 😂)

AuntieMarys · 11/11/2020 09:00

I have £60...used a shed load of points earlier in the year to go first class on the train. That's about 6 bottles of wine

MiniMileyMoo · 11/11/2020 09:16

Anyone know how it works for joint Nectar accounts? DH and I have over the £50>£100 limit. Can we each double up separately to use more? The TS&C's say they are issued "per Nectar card/account" - we have separate cards but same account I think?!
