Just that really, inspired by posters on the bargain thread talking about craft paper and ribbon.
Has anyone started wrapping yet? If so, please can we have some pics!

Determined to go down the route of less waste but I have one roll of Christmas paper left from last year which will probably be enough for everything which needs wrapping this year. I have some plain boxes from other things which will work for other gifts.
Once that's done, no more. It will be brown paper and twine and holly or mistletoe.

Those stamps look fabulous thank you !

I'll start wrapping as soon as the tree goes up and I can put presents straight into DDs sack or under the tree. Now I'm WFH there's not enough room in the spare room to hide wrapped presents. I bought lots of paper and gift bags after Christmas last year so I just need to check on sellotape and I'm good to go. I'll probably wrap on my dressing table this year, thought I could swing it around so I can see the telly.

I bought a huge roll of brown paper from Amazon. It’s huge and cost around £10. I have stamped designs on it, and will wrap with twine. I also collected mini pine cones a few weeks ago, so will accessorise with those, and stamped Kraft card tags.

I love brown paper wrapping.

I did this one year. Brown paper, lovely tartan ribbons and gift tags. My parents got upset and told everyone that I had wrapped thier presents in old brown paper. If it is not blingy and 99p for 10 metres it is not real Christmas paper.

I also once made them a hamper. Lovely jams, T bags, honey, biscuits, wine etc. It cost me about £80 to make up. They then told everyone that I had given them a food parcel and were insulted.

Back to stuff from Matalan and TK Maxx and massive Baylis and Harding toiletry sets it is then Grin

Brown paper with deep red, forest green and navy ribbons in different widths and textures. Have navy paper with bears on it to mix it up a bit and mandatory Santa paper for his gifts/stockings.

If anyone remembers - here are my gift tags out of the kiln. Recipients will be able to use them for decorations afterwards.

MyHouse2011 Amazing!
My NDN makes Silas out of laser cut wood. So lovely to have the fab extra touch even if the present is simple.

Yes ribbon or maybe twine.

kavalkada · 22/11/2020 09:29

There are some really beautiful presents on this thread. I have been wrapping for the last three days and this if what I have so far. They are at the chest of drawers in my bedroom at this moment (no other place to put them) and I like passing by them. They give me a warm, fuzzy feeling inside.

@kavalkada They’re so pretty Smile seeing everyone’s wrapped presents is making me feel very festive!

TheSilentStars · 22/11/2020 13:24

@kavalkada, those are gorgeous. I'm a traditional wrapping paper fan and love your choices.

Thisisthelifewevebeengiven · 22/11/2020 14:33

Love this thread! I really enjoy wrapping and feel so happy when I’ve got mine wrapped and ready to go. These are this years (random pic i took so I can remember the lovely paper without giving away my hiding place Grin )

@Thisisthelifewevebeengiven Ooh love the co-ordinating designs. Where did you get them from? Smile

Thisisthelifewevebeengiven · 22/11/2020 14:51

pinkjam they were from WHSmiths. I love their wrapping paper. I got them in the sale but they still have them this year and although they aren’t cheap, there are always offers to be had.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/11/2020 18:01

I usually do brown paper. Last year I wrote song lyrics all over it, which looked quite nice.

This year, I'm making reusable fabric bags for some of the gifts. Will also do some in brown paper with jewel coloured ribbons, I think.

PinkJam · 22/11/2020 21:03

@Thisisthelifewevebeengiven Thank you Smile I’m going to have a look on their website now Smile

Beautiful @feellikezerobucks . I'm itching to start wrapping, my absolute favourite part of Christmas preparations but am not allowing myself to do the nice things til I've done a couple of less pleasant house jobs which have been on my list since the first lockdown and keep avoiding

PinkJam · 28/11/2020 19:38

@feellikezerobucks They look fabulous! Smile

I'm desperate to wrap but am waiting until a little closer to Xmas as husband's birthday is before then and I don't want to take the shine off his birthday 😂
