Thanks @Anydreamwilldo12 for thread title

please read the thread is moving so fast atm and it’s pretty hard to keep up! I was just wondering on people’s thoughts on this so did a super quick questionnaire here . I’m not sure we’ll find a perfect answer to suit everyone but would love your feedback on if it’s an issue or not.

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

@FrolickingLemon they have the same Lindt at home bargains BUT the boxes are half the size, bought 4 today. So still a good buy as smaller gifts for £2.49

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 01/10/2020 21:45

Thanks for great ideas, she’ll think I’m bonkers but that’s OK Grin

I don’t think booze is in short supply... next door flat went to shop for them. I’m more worried about scurvy and drinking than covid!

Vebrithien · 01/10/2020 21:47

@myhobbyisouting

If anyone sees a bargain push along first walker thing with bricks in (wooden) please let me know!
I got this one from Argos Crocodile walker and bricks for my niece and my godson for their first birthdays. £20 each, or 2 for £30

@NaturalBlondeYeahRight - I would suggest those chuffing cinnamon buns that everyone (except me!) has managed to get but we might have missed the boat there . I wanted mine for my DD at uni too.
Maybe some other baking kit?

If they're into playing games Banagrams is popular with DD and her housemates, also some of the Big Potato games but I think it's difficult to get bargainous ones.

Givealittlebit · 01/10/2020 21:58

@NaturalBlondeYeahRight what about something like cards against Disney? Or if your on Vodafone one of tomorrow's offers is something like free mug cake kits?

@Poniesrock @Restlessinthenorth not bargainous but if you're happy to spend a little more (and support a small business!) handmade hippo makes beautiful aprons! I've been eyeing them up for ages but mine are too little to be interested in baking yet

PinkDaydreams · 01/10/2020 22:06

@TakeMeToYourLiar yes thank you he does have the latches board :) I've suggested it to a few people as it gets quite a lot of use!

PinkJam · 01/10/2020 22:12
@AintOverUntilTheCatLadySings, the plush princesses from The Disney Store are gorgeous toys and not too horrifically sparkly. If you could persuade your DD that something cuddly would be good they could be the way forward...

And I'm sure some thrifty soul here will have a codeSmile
This wasn’t to me but have been looking for a Disney Princess soft toy rather than doll for my niece so thank you for recommending.

Regarding the Disney store, does anyone know why they don’t seem to be stocking much of Belle? She’s not available as a classic doll or the soft toy. I thought she would be one of the more popular ones.

22Giraffes · 01/10/2020 22:15

Just in case anyone is as petty as me... I opened a case with OnBuy for the Uno Flip as they are clearly fake, got my £2.02 refund in under an hour with a cheery reply from the seller! 😂

22Giraffes · 01/10/2020 22:17

@dementedma thanks for the Florentine heads up, never tried Aldi ones but after watching bake off this week I really want some, and Morrison's were very disappointing Sad

CoffeeAndEnnui · 01/10/2020 22:19

John Lewis definitely have the Belle plush and Hamleys/Harrods usually have stock of Disney princess plushes too (and good discounts at this time of year).

CoffeeAndEnnui · 01/10/2020 22:20

(Sorry, that was for @PinkJam)

TheGirlWhoLived · 01/10/2020 22:23

@pinkjam do they still put some Disney films etc in the vault? I remember back in the day you used to be unable to find certain films/characters as they ‘shelved them’ for a couple of years before bringing them back out - thus creating a frenzy for the new release and a new rush on buying!

CoffeeAndEnnui · 01/10/2020 22:25

Correction, they have the musical Ty/Disney collaboration plush. Amazon has the Disney official one in stock though.

PinkJam · 01/10/2020 22:31

@CoffeeAndEnnui Thank you very much, will have a look now Smile

@TheGirlWhoLived I didn’t think of that, you might be right. Because I can’t see why she’d be unavailable in either style otherwise.

caffeineanddryshampoo · 01/10/2020 22:55

I haven't really paid attention to the pasta evangelista talk so apologies if this offer isn't as good as the one previously mentioned (or is the same?!)

Get £10 off Pasta Evangelists plus a free cocktail and charcuterie board with code STYLIST10
Details here

EvilHerbivore · 01/10/2020 22:57

What did/do people think of the pasta from pasta evangelists? I had the broccoli pesto one and thought it was horrible not to my taste but the espresso martinis went down lovely!

HettyPain · 01/10/2020 23:04

@57EvilHerbivore - I really enjoyed the pasta. I've tried a vegan tomato one, and a crab and prawn one (I think). Both very tasty and so quick to heat up.

HettyPain · 01/10/2020 23:05

I don't know where the 57 came from in my last post, sorry!

YourHandInMyHand · 01/10/2020 23:10

I've decided to take a go at the pastas. It's one less meal I'll need to cook from scratch, if nothing else. Grin

ClaraLane · 01/10/2020 23:14

@NaturalBlondeYeahRight

Not Christmassy but I do need some cheap and cheerful ideas for poor DD who, in her second week of uni has to self isolate with her flatmates! Luckily they get on (so far) but I’m trying to think of a few cheap bits to send over next week or so via amazon probably as I have Prime. I’ve just ordered a choc hamper that she can share. They have cards and a couple of board games. Any ideas? Don’t go looking especially, I just can’t think if there is something obvious.
Following on from a PP’s suggestion - you can toast marshmallows over a tea light but I know our halls banned candles (not sure how they’d have known mind you...)

What about some adult colouring books/paper squares for origami/face masks (the fun kind!)/Cards against humanity add on packs because I’m sure at least one person in the flat will have it!

Onion is £4 from Moon and Me at the moment. Good stocking filler!

thaegumathteth · 02/10/2020 00:47

@NaturalBlondeYeahRight
What about this?

Thread 9 - the one with the thick willy scarf
myhobbyisouting · 02/10/2020 01:11

@Vebrithien thank you! That walker looks great for the price Smile the Peter rabbit toys in that deal are lovely

Vebrithien · 02/10/2020 05:29

@myhobbyisouting You're welcome! It's traditional wood, nicely sturdy and my niece and godson love the crocodile on the side! I needed two but glad if you've found other things in the offer to suit.

One final bonus was that it came flat packed. Super easy to assemble, but saves a lot of space until it was needed (and would make it easier to post, if that is required this year Sad)
