Thanks @Anydreamwilldo12 for thread title

please read the thread is moving so fast atm and it’s pretty hard to keep up! I was just wondering on people’s thoughts on this so did a super quick questionnaire here . I’m not sure we’ll find a perfect answer to suit everyone but would love your feedback on if it’s an issue or not.

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Good morning to everybody on my absolute favourite threads ever!
No bargains to report yet but have just witnessed the most dramatic response to the Playmobil Scooby Doo Mansion by my five year old.
So if anyone sees this at a more reasonable price than £90 - £100 then it would be much appreciated, thanks for these most festive freds, I love them. 🎄

PinkDaydreams · 02/10/2020 07:12

Onion that @Dovesandkisses and kisses posted is only £2 in home bargains

I posted about moon and me yesterday but may have been missed. Home bargains have some good moon and me bargains :)

There's someone selling new ones on eBay for £75.00.

Seeing talk of Playmobil Scooby Doo has reminded me that for the last few years, B&M have done a set of Scooby Doo figures, usually about £7. A bit bigger than playmobil but not so big that you couldn’t use them together.

If anyone is giving a playset such as a castle, pirate ship, pyramid, big house etc, they made a really good extra little set to add because it added a whole separate dimension of play - you could play normally with the set but then you could have your own Scooby mystery adventure too. And there are so many Scooby DVDs that are usually about £3, you can add an appropriate dvd to provide inspiration if they’re not very familiar with them...

Hopefully now playmobil will now do a set of figures to use in the same way too...

Dinosaur Blanket
Gogroopie have these Dinosaur blankets that my dc would have loved when they were little. Disclaimer, I have never used gogroupie but I think it works like Groupon. They also have fake oodies.

DS has written his Christmas list, we have a triceratops skull (not a replica), a triceratops horn (you guessed it, not a replica), a highland cow horn and a pick axe 😳 I’m not expecting bargains but would appreciate any ideas?

lucysmam · 02/10/2020 07:56

@Fueledwithfairydustandgin a viking dress up or similar for the axe? Your ds's list has given me a smile this morning. My youngest would like an orchid mantis...I'm not quite as thrilled as she is with that idea Hmm

friskybivalves · 02/10/2020 07:56

The lovely cashmere recyclers Turtle Doves have 30% off felted, slender and large gloves with the code *CHILLY-ROOMS, brings them down to around £18.30 a pair.

Fueledwithfairydustandgin · 02/10/2020 08:01

@lucysmam unfortunately he’ll expect the real one. He digs with such ferocity he renders any sort of plastic tool useless in seconds. I’m not sure where I’d stand on a child protection front though if I got him a real pick axe for Christmas 🤷🏻‍♀️😳😂

icedaisy · 02/10/2020 08:01

Morning all

Is it bad I check this thread first of a morning and hence see breaking news stories via @Givealittlebit screen shot rather than BBC news app! Hehe. Wonder what that says about my interest in current affairs at this second.

PurpleBirch · 02/10/2020 08:05

Thanks for all the ideas on these threads. The candles are amazing and still good value at £6 too.

My contribution is these personalised straws from Etsy. I bought 4 and had them personalised with nicknames. They came to £8 altogether including delivery. Great stocking fillers. Or a gift for teachers engraved with a thank you and a can of a gin and tonic or similar! www.etsy.com/uk/listing/740174815/personalised-stainless-steel-metal?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=mylee+london+straws&ref=sr_gallery-1-3&organic_search_click=1&bes=1

lucysmam · 02/10/2020 08:06

@Fueledwithfairydustandgin I wonder if there's some sort of experience or something along those lines where he could use one safely. How old is he?

Clarabellybutton · 02/10/2020 08:09

Thanks to @its2019fffs for the Holland and Barrett code 25HBVOD. Just got £10 off the advent calendar!

MrsBhappyface · 02/10/2020 08:10

Sorry its not the 500g one its the 250g one with 38 pieces. Still good though 👌 Grin

Fueledwithfairydustandgin · 02/10/2020 08:10

@lucysmam he’s 6

lucysmam · 02/10/2020 08:10

@PurpleBirch thanks for the straws, I had some sort of novelty ones on my stocking lists for the girls.

mogtheexcellent · 02/10/2020 08:11

@Fueledwithfairydustandgin a young archaeologist in the making then! I'm an archaeologist so may have some ideas. What age are we talking about?

mogtheexcellent · 02/10/2020 08:13

Ignore!6 is an easy age to deal with. A letter from Santa saying real dinosaur bones have to go to a museum. Plus some triceratops toys should be good. I'll have a further look for some ideas for you!

Flippityjibbits · 02/10/2020 08:24

I'm on Vodafone and won't use the mug cake code if anyone would like it

UselessInDisguise · 02/10/2020 08:40

Yes please @Flippityjibbits!

TakeMeToYourLiar · 02/10/2020 08:44

Does he need to actually dig with the axe? If not how about a LARP one? No idea on sites but will ask DH if it helps.

Not specifically on the list, but going with an emerging theme what about a metal detector?

How old is he? This is the sort of list I can envisage from DS 4 in a few years

Flippityjibbits · 02/10/2020 08:53

@uselessindisguise here you go VODVK6X82 but it's only valid for an hour so you'll have to be quick!
