New thread again. Doesn't seem 5 minutes since the last one! 😂

Thanks for looking Boots. Hopefully DD2's friend can come up trumps (more specifically her mum but I was likely to get in an apostrophe tangle in that sentence so I avoided it 😂)

NerosFiddle · 23/09/2020 13:38

Woolly what are you looking for and I'll take a look tomorrow?

TheWoollybacksWife · 23/09/2020 13:59

Neros it's a double sized duvet set of a Christmas Winnie the Pooh. It does seem to be out of stock in that size everywhere but I haven't been able to find out if it is likely to come back into stock

NoWordForFluffy · 23/09/2020 14:12

Did you tweet them, Woolly?

OP posts:
NerosFiddle · 23/09/2020 15:18

Woolly they don't have it in my store either. But I got them to take my number if another one comes in.

BiddyPop · 23/09/2020 15:34

I rang GP to book my jag last week, they have a delay on supplies so I've to ring back next week. I don't know if DH or DD will want it, but they are both with a local GP near the house (same practise) whereas I am in town near my office. Meh, it will be a daytrip when it happens!

It's been a day of other people moving things around on me so far - food shopping delivered early, meeting with legal person brought forward, this evenings' meeting changed focus so need to read different things later, DD's training changed both time and venue (so I need to feed her and facilitate transport when DH was doing transport and she was eating at school). But while I failed to book gas boiler service (sucking of teeth and suggestion that parts would be impossible to get, so wait until it breaks..), I have paid the house insurance and booked a chimney sweep for the stove for "sometime next week".

I'm going downstairs to make some lunch. A hot one as it's FREEZING here today...

WreckTangled · 23/09/2020 16:13

I've had a day of meetings and phone calls. Not back into the office until the fifth now. Then I finally get to go into a school that week. It'll be basic PPE plus a visor too so mask, gloves and apron. Seems crazy when the teachers don't get anything.

FireflyGirl · 23/09/2020 16:15

I can't get DH booked in for a flu jab with Boots or Lloyds - apparently they are not giving appointments to under-65s at the moment!

I've seen another article about the broadband outage - apparently it was an older couple switching it on to watch Piers Morgan in the morning! Grin

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 23/09/2020 16:15

I have followed that guy on Twitter Woolly and will have a look at the thread tomorrow when I am possibly more awake. I have just booked to have my nails done with one of our cousin's who is a beauty therapist. Looking forward to that next week.

WreckTangled · 23/09/2020 16:17

Fire they've run out of the vaccine for under 65's... either that or they're worried they're going to run out.

TheWoollybacksWife · 23/09/2020 16:21

I'll see what DD's friend's mum says about it being restocked Fluffy and tweet if required.

I often fall down a Twitter rabbit hole why. I like the funny ones - the recent thread about Brexit and the Idiot Son was very good. A bit far fetched at times but still funny.

Firefly have you got a Tesco pharmacy nearby? They are booking for under 65s and are cheaper than Boots at £9 a pop.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 23/09/2020 16:34

I do occasionally disappear into the black hole that is Twitter Woolly. Passes the time on a night shift with gaps between phone calls, although they are getting less and less these days. I am waiting for the flu jab from work, the appointment system has not gone live yet or hadn't last night.

lachy · 23/09/2020 18:39

@NoWordForFluffy

Woolly, they aren't doing the Quality Street at JL this year. Boooooo!
WHAAAAATTTTT???

But, I have my personalised tin!! I wanted limited edition chocolates again this year (and snaffle them all again...)

NoWordForFluffy · 23/09/2020 18:51

Me too, lachy! 😭😭😭

OP posts:
FireflyGirl · 23/09/2020 19:43

Thanks Woolly! I never even thought of Tesco!

Have booked us both in for next week, which is a week earlier than my Boots appointment so will cancel that!

Who'd have thought this time last year my excitement of the day would be booking flu jabs...

Mrsmadevans · 23/09/2020 20:01

Going to watch Bake off tonight l am so looking forward to it Smile
Dd2 has sorted her carpets and flooring out so that will be done in 2 weeks so my Baby might be gone in 2 weeks Sad
Wreck don't the teachers have any PPE God l didn't realise , that is a big worry for them l bet Hmm Glad you are back in school soon Smile
Have booked our jags in October , me, Mum, Dh and her best friend so hopefully we will be able to have them as planned Smile
Do you remember l was going to buy Dd1/US a car ? Well we had to go and give it the once over tonight before we agreed to buy it . We had a good look at it and thought it was suitable until we opened the bonnet and saw the underneath of the car and the inside , it was caked in Concrete . We were absolutely astonished at the state on it the concrete was rock solid, God knows where or what, they had been doing with it .Anyway needless to say we are back to the drawing board and starting to look again , hey ho Hmm
Will put pictures on Smile
Also went to The Secret Garden in Mamhilad , it was beautiful weather there will also put pics on Grin

MarshmallowManiac · 23/09/2020 20:04

Evening everyone.
Wet and dreary here with a little sunshine. Totally not good enough

Must try the Orange and Cranberry Firefly

Usually use Vision Express Crazy but my DS urged me to go to Specsavers after he was so impressed by their technology them. Went for my eyetest last weekend and picking up new purple flecked glasses next week. The optician also informed me that I had astigmatism and could have a cataract in about 10 years Sad and advised me to wear reactilite lenses to slow the process down.

Want to book my flu jab but doc surgery said that they have to do the over 65s first and to call in a couple of weeks.

Mrsmadevans · 23/09/2020 20:26

Here they are Smile

Morning!

Quick check in before I go for my jog run! Hopefully it'll keep dry until I get back. We've had heavy rain in the last 14 hours or so and more is forecast.

Mrsmadevans · 24/09/2020 07:29

Morning everyone 😀
Weather is dire 🌧️
It's going to be tumble dryer all the way now 😱
Going to see my friends today before we are put back into lockdown. It will be outside in her 'garden room' its was a massive shed but she's adapted it and it's fabulous
Watched GBBO , Matt and Noel were just right together, great match. I thought the baking challenges were really hard for the first round . Was amazed who went too there were a few who could have gone . Strictly soon ❤️
Have a lovely day everyone 😀

NoWordForFluffy · 24/09/2020 07:45

I got back as it started to rain, so good timing! It's dry overnight and tomorrow, so our washing will go out then.

OP posts:
NerosFiddle · 24/09/2020 07:54

Morning. It's dry cloudy this morning. According to bbc breakfast the highlands had their coldest September night. -5 last night and frost on the ground.

My arm is a wee bit sore today with the jag yesterday. Apparently it means that the vaccine is working.

NerosFiddle · 24/09/2020 07:59

Forgot to say I've bought all my presents. Just need wrapped now. I can now focus on my decorations.

WreckTangled · 24/09/2020 08:00

It is feeling chilly this morning only 21° in my sitting room Grin

We had rain overnight but the sun is out now. WFH today trying not to eat everything.

WreckTangled · 24/09/2020 08:01

Wow neros I've only got the dc a few bits. I think I'm going to scale back this year though for sure.
