Thanks @moonbabyandthebeast for thread title

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Does anyone know what I can get a 3 year old boy?

MostIneptThatEverStepped · 20/09/2020 14:23

Has anyone seen lava lamps with a discount anywhere? 😊

Friedbanana · 20/09/2020 14:23

This is the least Christmassy thing ever but I’m wondering if anyone can advise on a cheapish but reliable printer? Ours has broken and I just need it for printing out word documents and similar for work! Hate choosing things like printers as I’ve no idea where to start!

Also, Emma Bridgewater is currently doing their free spotty mug with a referral code on your first order (I made my own referral by using a work email address so unfortunately don’t have one to share, but hopefully others can do the same!) you just have to add the spotty mug into your basket to make it work! (Not quite as good as a few years ago when they stacked it with the 2 for £30 mugs plus £10 off plus free delivery but still there’re some gorgeous things, I’m obsessed with the London at Christmas tea towel and mug!)

@Maddie2802 My 3 year old boy loves any kind of roleplay. His favourite toy is the Melissa and Doug ice cream shop so he'd love the ice cream cart.

thelegohooverer · 20/09/2020 14:31

@SpnBaby1967 how about a book for him?

Friedbanana · 20/09/2020 14:33

Oh I’ve also just seen emma Bridgewater has 15% off with code TUMBLING15 so that might stack with free mug!

tentative3 · 20/09/2020 14:36

Couple of questions:

Has anyone tried the Fortnum and Mason preserves? I'm looking at the Christmas Pudding preserve but also some non Christmassy ones like orange curd. Just wondering if they're worth the price.

On a related note, hideously expensive but they do F&M decorations, including a mini hamper! Very cute.

Secondly, has anyone ever bought a refurbished kindle?

lucysmam · 20/09/2020 14:37

@KavvLar thanks for the air dry clay link; first birthday present for dd2 ordered Grin

UrbanMage · 20/09/2020 14:41

Started the shop today! We've recently moved so didn't want to start before then. Decided to make little mug treats for my friends, so bought mugs in the typo sale as they always wash well. Going to fill them with treats and wrap in cellophane/brown paper and ribbons.

Does anyone know if Smyths will do any sort of discounts? My dd has asked for the Paw Patril dino HQ for her birthday. As it's the onky thing she has asked for I want to get it for her but at £49.99 I do think it is a rip off

Adelais · 20/09/2020 14:51

Lego City Fire Burger Bar Rescue set down to £15 .96 on Amazon.

Looks like a good value set
@2anddone thanks I think the takealong house is different this is the 123home I think it's aimed at younger children. However I think my nearly four and six year old will like the sound affects . Debating whether to get this one or the take along one? Your dd obviously loved it .
My son got the takealong house for Christmas and it comes with lots of bits. Some of them are very small though. He was 5 then. We've had lots of play out of it too.

SingaporeSlinky · 20/09/2020 15:03

On the reports of Smyths not doing the usual vouchers, I understand they don’t want to encourage shoppers gathering in store, but surely an online only discount is an option?

pasinphoebe · 20/09/2020 15:18

I hope this is allowed I’m know it’s not technically a bargain .. I read somewhere about a Christmas game, mean Santa or bad Santa or something
Basically you wrap 6 presents for 6 people, they can be anything eg a scratchcard, lump of coal, a comedy tie.. whatever. You can wrap them beautifully or in newspaper .. then the game is sort of everyone gets to choose a start present and you roll a dice and the presents move eg if you roll a one everyone has to pass the present they have left, if you roll a three you swap with someone older than you ..
That’s the gist does anyone know ?! I mean I guess I could make it up I just wondered if anyone knows it!!

liquiddiamonds · 20/09/2020 15:26

First time posting but have been following for a while. Thank you for all the bargains so far! Want to get a bike for DS who turns 6 just before Christmas. Any recommendations on where to get a bargain, or is it worth holding on for sales nearer December? Thank you :)

withadivinebeatlesbaseline · 20/09/2020 15:30

My 3 year old loves his ice cream stand that he got for his birthday. Otherwise loves duplo, games, train track and books are always a good shout. And anything with hey duggee! One of his favourite presents was a hey duggee water bottle

Bikes are like gold dust at the moment so you might want to see if you can find something sooner rather than later on that front. Everyone went crazy for them during lockdown and they are in short supply

It's worth keeping an eye on your local fb selling page if you don't mind second hand. We managed to get our dd a girls Giant bike. Needed a bit of a clean and a new basket but we are happy with it for £25. A new basket from Halfords was £8. Only problem is it's hidden in the loft until Dec for her birthday.
Elskerdeg · 20/09/2020 15:58

Aldi have got some crafty things online today, such as sets for make your own candles, reflexology, etc. They also have £3 books for sudoku, wordsearches, etc.
I bought one of their kids books where you paint them with water to colour them in.
Some lol doll stuff, and they still have a little bit of Harry potter things.
Also for a beauty hamper they have rose toner, and nice looking body butter etc

Mumto3thatsme · 20/09/2020 15:59

B&m have Christmas bedding in, £5 for soft singles, prints include unicorns as well as the more traditional prints.
They also had Christmassy teddy fleece bedding at £15

This was my initial thought until I remembered they usually do it in store only, it doesnt included deliveries. Imagine the poor delivery drivers if they did hold it online and everyone put in their big orders.
TheSeedsOfADream · 20/09/2020 16:27

Allbeauty have launched some new offers pre-Christmas. Up to 65% off some perfumes, skincare etc. Cashback also through Quidco. I use them a lot and can vouch for them.
@Friedbanana, not a specific printer but Epson IME are the best cheaper ones. Mine was about £35 about five years ago and is a printer and scanner and WiFi. I don't know what I'd do without it!

22Giraffes · 20/09/2020 16:30

Thank you @Foggyday124 that herbal tea advert calendar is perfect for my mum, she lives alone and it's nice for her to have something little to open each day Smile
