Thanks @moonbabyandthebeast for thread title

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Thanks Tamtam86 for the M&Co tip. Dd is Friends mad at the moment so got her a few stocking fillers.

PattyPan · 20/09/2020 12:21

@gingerbeerandlemonade thanks, will send him there in the week!

WatchoutfortheROUS · 20/09/2020 12:31

@PattyPan it's worth asking if there are none on the shelf. My m&s looked empty and the first staff member I asked said they didn't have any but she checked with a colleague, who then appeared with a trolley full Grin

Emma1962 · 20/09/2020 12:32

Any ideas for a 6yo girl for xmas. It’s her birthday in October which I think we are sorted for but struggling for xmas ideas. We’ve got lego, LoLs, scooters, electronics & im pretty sorted with stocking fillers but would love to find something for her main pressie.

superstar84 · 20/09/2020 12:49

Does she like Barbie? The Barbie helicopter is great for £20 in smyths and amazon

Luxplus · 20/09/2020 12:53

@Emma1962 my dd is 6 and wishes
A board game with unicorn
Hatchimals Hatchiwow
Pop up palace and rapunzel
Lottie dolls
A camera with selfie stick
Disney princess dolls
Magformers
Books about animals

BeaLola · 20/09/2020 12:59

Re Gin - none near me in any stores - all of which are fairly large. My godfather picked 1 of each up yesterday am in Ashtead's food M&S - he said there was a shelf full of each type

PattyPan · 20/09/2020 13:02

@WatchoutfortheROUS yes, definite downside to not going myself! He apparently didn’t think to ask anyone whereas I would have. He is under instructions to next time 😂

RuPaula · 20/09/2020 13:02

@Algebraicyourleg How about a retro football top of the team he supports? It’s one of the best presents I ever got my Dad - I’ll see if I can find an example!

mogtheexcellent · 20/09/2020 13:05

@gingerbeerandlemonade

I bought the last bottle on friday afternoon. Have they restocked? Might have to pop back as I only got one and need 2

RuPaula · 20/09/2020 13:06

@Algebraicyourleg I got something like this, but for the team my Dad supports and he wears it at home to watch all their matches Grin oldschoolfootball.co.uk/collections/internation-football-teams/products/england-1900s-t-shirt

Does anyone have any suggestions for what I could get DP’s sister? She is in her final year at uni and a party girl type. She is very cool/ironic so I never know what to get her! Don’t want to go for booze though. I’m thinking maybe Make-up/skincare but I don’t wear it so don’t know what would make a good present.

Emma1962 · 20/09/2020 13:15

@superstar84 & @Luxplus thank you some great ideas. She has actually mentioned a camera which I forgot so one with a selfie stick would be good. I’ll take a look at the Barbie helicopter too as she has a few Barbie bits. No idea what Lottie dolls are so will check them out. Thank you lovely people x

SpnBaby1967 · 20/09/2020 13:15

I need Dad help too! No hobbies, doesnt drink, cook or be particularly enamoured with foods.

Loves his Jaguar car, his motorbike and Chelsea football team. He's just has his birthday so I got him the jaguar through the ages book.

He always stumps me.

Also, what do you buy for millionaires who have everything Confused Hmm my in laws always seem less than impressed by our "bought on a budget" gifts, but given their absurd wealth they dont exactly kit us out with Lamborghinis each either. I dont want to buy anything as I'm fed up with the attitude but DH says we should. His nan also ridiculously wealthy (it's old family money) and wants for nothing.

Emma1962 · 20/09/2020 13:21

I think I’ll have to get her the hatchimals hatchiwow for that price at smyths!

Cult beauty is a great site for makeup, the original skincare brand it affordable and got great reviews! 😊
Emma1962 · 20/09/2020 13:23

@SpnBaby1967 my dads the same. So hard. Last year me & my brother out together to get him a new TV. We usually end up getting him whiskey & books. I’ve been toying with getting him a kindle

Algebraicyourleg · 20/09/2020 13:32

@TakeMeToYourLiar, thanks but got them all...we are both a bit number geekish. I think the problem comes because I tend to give her little presents through the year, so when I see things I just give them to her. I should save them really!

@RuPaula I do like them, thank you!

Emma1962 · 20/09/2020 13:40

@SpnBaby1967 how about a magazine subscription to something about motorbikes?

thelegohooverer · 20/09/2020 13:42

@SpnBaby1967 I have a similar person on my list, though not perhaps in the same league. I usually hold out for a posh brand at a hefty discount thanks to this thread and look on it as fulfilling the social contract but I don’t over think it. I’ve learned to save my efforts for those who appreciate them. I’m probably not being much help.

That's a good idea!

thelegohooverer · 20/09/2020 13:43

@SpnBaby1967 I was referring to your in-laws in my post, not your dad Blush

One year I made them all hampers, had to pay to ship them as they live very far away. Fil turned his nose up saying he could go to any supermarket and make this himself and "probably with better quality produce". Since then I've hated it & dont make much effort at all.

Maddie2802 · 20/09/2020 13:46

How will I know if the ice cream cart on amazon goes back on offer? Looks great!

Natmat1 · 20/09/2020 13:52

Outdoor Christmas lights reduced plus £2 off, looks like a good deal here
