Thanks @moonbabyandthebeast for thread title

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Here’s Barbarara’s instructions from last year on doing clicky links:

Open double square brackets
No space
Paste link
Space
Name of link
No space
Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

Thank you @villamariavintrapp but I would really love it to represent this year Smile

Wolfcub · 18/09/2020 07:48

Hot, no, exploding kittens is overrated. We backed it as a kickstarter so played it early and either expansions.

Wolfcub · 18/09/2020 07:49

With not either

SushiGo · 18/09/2020 07:50

We like exploding kittens, the game play is good. It's very silly and puerile humour so good for slightly older primary kids or secondary imo.

GAP have 40% off some styles, and a online store wide 15% off everything. Brings eg hats and gloves in the sale down to 2.50/3.30 each. Lots of choice.

ShandlersWig · 18/09/2020 07:51

My DC have had the Phoenix for 3 years since age 7. They too love it.

ShandlersWig · 18/09/2020 07:52

And we wouldnt rate Exploding Kittens but love Uno and Dobble.

SushiGo · 18/09/2020 08:01

It totally depends on your taste in games is probably the real answer here!

Cloud1921 · 18/09/2020 08:11

@Hotairoverthere my 13 year old DD and 15 year old DN had great fun playing exploding kittens on holiday.

The game is silly, but the rounds are short so it's fast paced to play. Which means I'm more likely to join in too as I hate long games like monopoly

They loved it so much I've bought you've got crabs by the same company to play over Xmas.

lolarabbit · 18/09/2020 08:15

Some great wool blankets and throws on WoolOvers - discount code CA20 for 20% off. They've also got hot water bottles with knitted covers if you know anyone who would use one.

Another potential coffee based gift for people who just want to brew a single cup is the Barista and Co brew it stick from Whittards (£12) - l've got one and use it daily for convenience . Going to get one paired with their 'coffees of world' gift set as a pressie. Code CLOUDSEPT15 gives 15% off orders over £35 at the moment.

margaritasbythesea · 18/09/2020 08:16

AUTJE69AM gives 20% off at White Stuff.

WisestIsShe · 18/09/2020 08:18

@Hotairoverthere we didn't enjoy it either, definitely over hyped.

IggyAce · 18/09/2020 08:21

Not Christmas, but homespun Heath are offering a free Halloween print you just pay postage. I’ve ordered several times from this lovely lady and highly recommend her personalised Rudolph tree decorations. halloween

IggyAce · 18/09/2020 08:22

Forgot you need the code halloween2020, sorry.

XiCi · 18/09/2020 08:23

Hot, no, exploding kittens is overrated
I'm glad someone else has said this because it seems to be worshipped by mumsnetters, its recommended all the time but I found it boring AF.
Thought it was just me Grin

margaritasbythesea · 18/09/2020 08:26

Anyone know of a way of getting money off at Hobbycraft, please?

dementedma · 18/09/2020 08:28

Confused by thread title..an STI baby sounds horrible! What did I miss?

Lemming20 · 18/09/2020 08:35

I thought it was originally an STIman... some sort of morphing must have occurred! A lovely regular poster made a typo Grin

UselessInDisguise · 18/09/2020 08:36

One for the pets... Snuggly pet bed £4

pet bed

TheGirlWhoLived · 18/09/2020 08:39

We absolutely LOVE exploding kittens. It’s really quick, the kids pick up the rules really fast and it can be made easy for the smaller ones whilst also making it hard for the grown ups. Really interesting and fun game, take it on all holidays and everyone from 6-91 plays Grin

This year we’ve gone for outfoxed and cards against humanity (family edition)

Natmat1 · 18/09/2020 08:51

@SayNoToCarrots what about personalised bauble with your family photo
Something like this maybe?

bauble

lolarabbit · 18/09/2020 09:06

@margaritasbythesea if you're not already a member of the Hobbycraft club, sign up and they should send you a 15% discount code. They also sent me a £5 voucher on my birthday if you have a birthday/unbirthday coming up!

EvilHerbivore · 18/09/2020 09:07

I was absolutely NOT buying anything else and I've bought 2 things on this thread on the school run 🙈

FilthyforFirth · 18/09/2020 09:17

@Sunshineskies I have insomnia and the This Works sleep spray is amazing. You could get her a small one to try?

@Cinderellashoes if you sign.up to the schleich newsletter you get a 10% off code and they sometimes do 3 for 2 online. Only other discount I've got is that as a zsl member I get 10% off in the zoo gift shop which has schleich animals.
