Thanks @moonbabyandthebeast for thread title

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

Does anyone's dc have Bop-it? Is it worth buying? Dd2 had a quick go on a friend's, but they hadn't had it long to tell me if it's well used, so I'm wondering if it'd be one of those things played with once & then ignored after that?

Hophop26 · 17/09/2020 22:03

@riotlady depending on whether you want the witch costume for Halloween or not, Tesco is a good shout on 31 Oct/1 Nov, they hugely reduce the Halloween outfits, may also be a Halloween- ish fairy outfit too. Other supermarkets the same but have found in past years that Tesco go for quick clearance pricing so more bargainous than the others!

Trumpton · 17/09/2020 22:14

Bop it ! Is brilliant .
The 4 yr old and I had a game off today .
I think the mini version is better .

dollypartonscoat · 17/09/2020 22:19

We don't like Bop It.

CoffeeAndEnnui · 17/09/2020 22:23

@EvilHerbivore, so glad promo was useful for you! The Phoenix is quite a good gateway drug for reluctant readers because many of its contributors are authors too so there's a nice natural evolution towards longer reads by writers they already love.

riotlady · 17/09/2020 22:23

Thanks for the dress up tips, everyone! :)

FilthyforFirth · 17/09/2020 22:31

Thanks for the hamper ideas. DSis is off to uni next week so going to make a hamper of snacks and booze she likes! I did get rhe Hobbycraft one before I saw the warning but as its for a student and not a nice christmas pressie hopefully will be ok!

www.homebargains.co.uk/products/20123-lol-surprise-winter-disco-doll.aspx

Only 19.99, half price. Can order it online x

Bluewavescrashing · 17/09/2020 22:36

For hampers I managed to find a roll of biodegradable cellophane on ebay and a roll of florists' green tissue paper. I'll pack the beers in a cardboard tray, 6 in each, then wrap in tissue then cellophane and tie with festive ribbon. So they'll look like hampers but won't be transparent. I'll need to drop them off way before Christmas so I'd rather they are partly disguised!

Eldest DD came back from Asda tonight with a massive box of Lego for youngest DS. It was £25 and it's set 10717 with 1500 pieces. It's normally about £50.

superstar84 · 18/09/2020 06:13

Argos have the ps5 to pre order now if anyone is after one

tentative3 · 18/09/2020 06:31

@CoffeeandEnnui how old do you think the Phoenix would be good up to? Christ, the grammar in that sentence Grin. Hopefully you know what I mean! Wondering about it for my niece.

Can anyone tell me what kindles were going for last year on black Friday? Or if there were any other deals? Wondering about one for my mum.

SushiGo · 18/09/2020 06:31

John Lewis seems to have their lego cheaper than a lot of other places at the moment. I just picked up the burger bar fire set for 19.99 which is 5 less than the lego set and much less than Amazon. Seems to be the same sort of price difference for most kits, and they have some dots stuff in the clearance section.

foilflower · 18/09/2020 06:48

The Vtech Frozen II Secret Magic Diary has price dropped to £20 on Amazon, from £34.99. I’ve had it in my basket for a while so I’m very pleased with this! Vtech Magic Secret Diary

SayNoToCarrots · 18/09/2020 06:55

@FilthyforFirth let us know if your luck with them is any better than mine!

SayNoToCarrots · 18/09/2020 07:03

I've got my eye on those lockdown baubles with the family all in facemasks, but we are not all white, so if anyone sees one with different ethnicities please let me know Smile

Muddlewitch · 18/09/2020 07:05

Exploding Kittens is £11.79 plus free delivery with OnBuy - www.onbuy.com/gb/exploding-kittens~c2303~p2061292/

steph2412 · 18/09/2020 07:07

I think I missed the lockdown baubles could anyone point me in the right direction?

PhantomErik · 18/09/2020 07:09

Glad the Geometrics book was popular, I got the last one from this thread & had been watching it ever since!

Cute little Harry Potter music box on Amazon for £2.97.

I've just bought one as a stocking filler for DD11 Smile

SayNoToCarrots · 18/09/2020 07:11

@steph2412 this kind of thing. Even if they are penguins or something that would work for us!

steph2412 · 18/09/2020 07:15

SAYNOTOCARROTS thank you so much!!

villamariavintrapp · 18/09/2020 07:26

@SayNoToCarrots they do have some mixed race family baubles in Amazon, and also penguins etc, but they're more expensive and not specifically 2020-no face masks etc which is a shame

Hotairoverthere · 18/09/2020 07:38

Does anyone recommend the exploding kittens game?

I’d never really heard of it until this thread and was tempted by the on buy deal above but reading the reviews on Amazon are quite mixed.
