Thanks @ClaraLane for thread title

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Delurking to ask about wooden tracks!

Thinking about starting to collect some wooden train tracks for DD for Christmas. What are the best ones out there? I know people recommend Brio, what other brands are compatible with brio? Are there better cheaper brands?

NoWordForFluffy · 11/09/2020 17:54

Bigjigs are good, and compatible with Brio. And we've had John Lewis stuff too.

Scoleah · 11/09/2020 17:55

@Sneezein3s

I’ve just got a good bargain at sock shop 8 pairs of kids Elle cosy socks for £8.77 delivered! I added set of each colour for £3.50 for two pairs and when I went to my basket one set was showing as £0.00. I added two more sets and a promo code AFF10 and managed to get two sets of each! Here’s what I ordered. Hope it helps someone else Grin
Thank you! What a steal! 😊
Bryna · 11/09/2020 17:57

@queenofelves we've had the lidl ones too, they did a nice 'around the world' set a couple of years ago, a range of various vehicles and a garage that would join up Smile

Penguinbeaver · 11/09/2020 17:58

TheGriffle · 11/09/2020 18:02

Thank you for the Miraculous Labybug ideas, totally forgot about Character.com, there’s a few bits on there, and a water bottle in Claire’s.

@TheGriffle

I’ve finally found something Dd1 is interested in, if anyone knows of any bargainous Miraculous Ladybug merchandise/toys/clothes please let me know!

I thought about a dress up outfit for her but at age 7 she is in 10-11 clothes and most costumes only go up to 9-10.

I found the figures of Cat Noir, Ladybug, Adrien and Marionette at TKMAXX but that was in the summer, £5 each, they had them in Argos too but at full price (£10)

Scrambledbeans · 11/09/2020 19:22

Has anyone seen any offers on the Frozen Duplo sets? I was looking for the bigger one which is around £40 but hoping to get it for less!

gingerbeerandlemonade · 11/09/2020 19:23

Wheres the dinosaur are back down in price on Amazon. Thanks for the escape room link! Amazon capped them to 3 but I have gifts for some friends now. Any ideas for couple gifts?

JingleCatJingle · 11/09/2020 19:26

Brio and big jigs are compatible with Ikea wooden train sets.
The wooden sets are also compatible with battery powered trackmaster trains.

Spam88 · 11/09/2020 19:42

@Maddie2802 Lidl do nice dolls house stuff, including dolls. Not sure when their next toy event is.

NoWordForFluffy · 11/09/2020 19:49

@Scrambledbeans, it's £34.99 on Amazon. Or it's on IWOOT and somebody put a referral / discount code on the referral thread, for some % discount. I don't recall how much.

scrappydappydoo · 11/09/2020 19:49

Speaking of escape rooms - can anyone recommend one of the escape room games? I was thinking it would be good for my 16yr old niece but there seems to be loads of different types and I want a good one..

Emma1962 · 11/09/2020 19:51

Thanks for the sock shop sale info. I got some Elle socks based on a recommendation from one of these threads and they are lush. My 9yo daughter commented on them so thought I would see if anything for her on sale. Anyway, I added some cashmere blend socks for me & some slipper socks for her & the slipper socks came up at no charge. Not sure why but it went through at £6.98 for both pairs of socks inc delivery
